Greatings fellow Gear Grinders, allow me to tell you about the last few days....
Today I buried my mums cat, I grew up with him and he has been in our lifes for 14years.
I have loved this cat (spike, big ginger tom) since we got him when I was 11 years old.
This sucks and is upsetting me more than I thought it would.
Next is how I'm feeling today, I have a hangover (from saturday!!) and miss my family down south, we just got back from visting them yesterday and I didn't want to leave.
Today just feels like my family is slipping away from me and that is what Grinds my Gears!
Totally understand where you're coming from man. Earlier this year, my English cocker spaniel died in her sleep. She was 13 years old and we got her 10 years ago to help me overcome my fear of dogs. She did a spectacular job with that. I'm also happy she went away in the most peaceful way possible. We cremated her afterwards. I still miss her from time to time. Losing pets is always difficult.
Anyway, I've been watching this thread for quite sometime so now it's my turn.
What grinds my gears? Being a cashier for a grocery store called Kroger. It wouldn't be so bad if some of my customers weren't complete jerks. Almost everyday I get someone who manages to rub me the wrong way.
One Saturday, we had absolutely no more plastic bags, making everyone's job 10 times harder, so we were stuck with paper. I was doing express lane that day. So my last customer is this lady. First, she does something that really annoys me, coming into the express lane with way more than 15 items, which isn't fair to customers who really do have 15 or less. Now keep in mind, that I'm the only one who has paper bags, which she couldn't even see where she was standing from, so she couldn't do anything.
The last item is her gallon of milk, which is large, so I place on the platform next to me where the plastic bags would go so I can bag it after she finished paying. For whatever reason, she's going to assume I wanted
her to bag her own milk and proceeded to give me an attitude about it. Um, lady. How the heck are you supposed to bag your own milk
when there are no bags around you to begin with?
Seriously one of the most stupid customers I ever had. Common sense is becoming more and more scarce.
On a different day, another lady comes in my line and she has a package of candles along with some groceries. However, she puts the package of candles RIGHT in her mouth to hold them. So when she places them down to be scanned, there's saliva on it.
Grabbed the scanner gun to take care of it, but even afterwards, she didn't leave without giving me an attitude. Did her parents forget to teach her how to act like a decent human being out in public?Because it sure seems like it.
It also doesn't help that the inside of the store looks like 🤬. I've been to Krogers MUCH nicer than the one I work at. I've been working there for 2+ years and I'm quickly running out of patience for that place. God, I hope Barnes & Noble hires me soon before Christmas gets here...
