It's a little late but my school district grinds my gears.

At the moment we are building a $60 million dollar football stadium for our High School Football Team the Allen Eagles. Meanwhile with this going on the district lays off something close to a hundred teachers, including ESL classes in almost all schools, Speech Classes, and a class that has a helps kids learn to read. (Keep in mind this class has a 98% TAKS Reading passing rate, for kids who have never passed the reading TAKS before.) Couldn't they have used the money for the stadium to pay for the teachers? I can't stand how much my district cares about Football!

Another thing, why do I keep trying to spell worst as worste?

That's awful! That's definitely a case for a lawsuit!

I'm not arguing! No, you shut up!

Shem's gear grinders Vol. 67

- People who drive around on well lit streets with high-beam turned on. Why? It's likely to cause more accidents that it'll prevent because you're blinding on coming traffic you stupid c**t! [/rage]

- People who don't use their mirrors when changing lane or turning. I'm a cyclist (cue the hate) and it flips my switch when these complete retards are completely unaware of anything that isn't directly in front of them.

Example

Me: Hmmm, that's a slow car, I'll over take that.

Them: La la la la la I think I'll switch lanes for no obvious reason and not check to see if there's anything coming up behind.

These doorknobs have no idea. t might just be China. They also have no idea what a lane is for or how they should use it. They will be driving on the outside but be wanting a turn 100m ahead. Rather than move to the inside lane they just stop at their turn and cut across the whole carriageway and then wonder why they have accidents.

Don't want to use your mirrors? I'll happily remover them with my bar ends because they don't seem to be of any use to you.

"Oh, look, I have a phone call. I'll just stop here in the middle of a busy road to answer."

"Ah, which turn do I take at this fork? I'll just stop here on a busy highway and look at my map while parked in the middle of a road full of speeding traffic. Left OK.........................Oh, s**t, that should have been a right. I know, I'll reverse 100m BACK down the highway to the fork."

NO RETARDS, JUST F'IN NO! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. GROW SOME BRAIN CELLS!!!! :ouch:

Rant over.

Speaking of licensed idiots on the road, the bogan* tool that stopped at an intersection on a GREEN light....

*No getting around this, they were driving a rubbish Commodore with chromed rims, had a s**t haircut (passenger did) while wearing stereotypical bogan clothing.

Bogan?......What's that?

Bogan

(From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bogan)

For other uses, see Bogan (disambiguation).

The term bogan is Australian slang, usually pejorative or self-deprecating, for an individual who is recognised to be from a lower class background or someone whose limited education, speech, clothing, attitude and behaviour exemplifies such a background.[1]

In New South Wales, "westie" has a similar meaning; this term refers to people from Western Sydney.[2]

OR (from http://www.koalanet.com.au/australian-slang.html)

Bogan : person who takes little pride in his appearance, spends his days slacking and drinking beer

What grinds my gears?

People who have families and use theirs as an excuse like there better then everyone else. Yes I know you have a family, but that doesn't mean you the RIGHT to more hours or a higher wage. I mean, seriously it's not my fault your a stupid breeder. I hate how you all think that your better then us :grumpy:

To discussion of bogans. There are two types of bogans. The good and the bad. There's the bad which are useless drunks who live off the government and sit around and drink all day and listen to heavy metal. The good kind listens to heavy metal, and is actually quite nice in personality and not drinking/fighting obsessed. But then there are the ones that are just really dumb, and listen to heavy metal. One thing in common, they all listen to heavy metal music.

Must be the NZ variety, we seem to just have the 'bad' kind that drinks, lives off Centerlink, drives Commodores and fights all the time. They're hectic patriotic too, usually going nuts over being OZZY and seem to hate other nationalities with a passion...

Yeah, we have those over here too, they're called chavs. Just utter scumbags, who have never worked, sponge off the state, wear ridiculous clothing and have the waistband of their jeans below their a***, speak in monosyllabic grunts, and think the epitome of cool is Henleys or Ed Hardy.

These lower intelligent species can be found hanging around in groups of 6 or more, as they lack the ability to see off innocent bystanders on their own, and apart from the grunts, have a limited vocubulary of 'Whatcha looking at?', 'Innit?' and '**** off'.

These creatures are not an endangered species, and it close to becoming an infestation of the little gits, so GTPlanet supports the widespread culling of the animals, and would appreciate your donations, however large, to the Kill The Scumbags Appeal.

We have those ones too.

(Probably only the UK?) A seasonal event is released to coincide with the maintenance schedule when I finish work. Or just the fact that the maintenance schedules always happen across the entire evening (but if it wasn't us, it would have to be someone else).

When your cat decides to wake you up at 6AM, seriously, that little beige rat has been doing it for the past week.

When your cat decides to wake you up at 6AM, seriously, that little beige rat has been doing it for the past week.

Ours is finally beginning to learn that meowing at 6.30am doesn't get you fed. Best way to teach your cat is get some earplugs, and feed her when you get up.

When people ask you to meet/come with them places & they do this:
"Hey, you should come with us to 'x event'".
"Sure. Just let me know what time & where prior so we can meet up beforehand" - my reply.
"Alright".

Day of the event, I usually end getting a call from a 3rd party asking me if I'm going. I reply, "I'm waiting for them to tell me where". Then I hear, "Oh, they're already there". Now, I'm ticked & I say forget it (b/c they've done this before).

5 minutes later I get a call from the 1st group asking why I'm mad. Why? B/c like the last few times, you flat out forget the simple call I ask for so I know where to go (as it's usually events I never go to, so I'm lost). Then they get mad at me as apparently, I'm just pissed off at them for no reason. I ask for 1 simple thing to help me out, that's it. Sure, I could have called them myself, but it doesn't do me any good when they don't pick up.

This grinds my gears, so much so, that now there's a group of friends I won't be seeing for a while. This isn't their first time playing this game, so I guess shame on me for continuing to fall for this.

I completely understand your situation. Like I simply asked someone to text someone to come and pick me up from town (otherwise it's a 1 - 2 hour walk home) I reminded them multiple times and they just said, "yeah I'll do it soon." Which of course they didn't. I couldn't do it because my phone was broken (I still haven't gotten a new one, and this was 4 months ago). So I had to search for a friends house (I waited afterwards for 20 minutes) and then had to find my way back to the friend who didn't simply use 10 cents to text for me to get home. Gave him a particularly angry rant, then used his phone to communicate home. Then my parents were angry that I didn't bother to contact them earlier. When it was someone else's fault, and they wouldn't believe me. And my 'friend' knew the number so it's not like he couldn't. The munter was just lazy! I think I raged about it earlier on here
