Man that is a grinder.

A grinder for me is that my Uncle died today. He was great, always inspiring, very humble man. He had no children but treated his nephews, nieces etc. like they were his own. The world lost a great man today.

Sorry to hear that.

In that case I would brace youself....my Cort has a rather annoying scratch on it thanks to my A-whole of a cat.

What's worse is the rest of it is mint, and I mean MINT. :grumpy:

My Girlfriend agreed to wait until we have a 2 bedroom place so I can have all my music gear in one room with a cat proof door. God I love my girlfriend. If anyone wants to have a happy and peaceful life, go out with a Japanese girl.

I know that sounds terrible. The fact that she's Japanese had nothing to do with me asking her out in the first place, as I met her in Canada and had a record for liking Canadians, but every other girl I've gone out with in the past has turned into a complete psycho ***** and too crazy to live with.

Sound advice from Shem. Eventually, you'll meet a good one.

That and it seems like nobody likes real music. By that I mean its made by real instruments.

+1.

Sadly, that's what a lot of people I know do too. They wouldn't know real hip hop if it slapped them in the face!

The same thing happened with rock music. Now you have crappy indie bands being labelled as rock bands. Give me some Thin Lizzy any day over that crap.

Being stopped and searched by police... because I was out after midnight  👎

That's crazy. That's only happened to me once before. Two days after my sixteenth birthday, I was at the local skatepark at 11pm on a saturday. The place was still crowded. The police show up and send everyone else home and I had the place left to myself.

It annoys me how disgustingly, catastrophically inconsiderate some people are. In Alaska, it's pretty much a done deal that there will be wind storms every fall. People go to the supermarkets during these storms, perhaps to stock up for the possible power outages. Despite the fact that they well know the wind is blowing with near-hurricane force, they don't bother to put their cart back in the cart return. They just push it aside as they normally do, leaving it to blow freely around the lot and run into anything that happens to be there. If the store employees aren't already on it I usually end up cleaning up after these people so their neglegence doesn't completely ruin someone's paint. I know being out in high wind sucks, but seriously... how selfish and inconsiderate is it possible to be?

They should just do what they do here. Shopping trolleys are all attached together with a chain. Put in a pound and the trolley is released. You should suggest something like that to the store. Maybe people will be more considerate if they want to get their dollar back.

Yeah I wish I had thought ahead and protected my Cort (Curbow 5, look it up, its gorgeous) :nervous:

Sounds like I needs me a Guitar room and Japanese GF!

You didn't skip school for a rare event? Why not?

Come on friend. You should've asked to use the washroom and then just leave to see the parade.

The parade was a bit far to walk from my school ;) I'd have to walk across a motorway/freeway or take a train if I was going to get there, and it would at least take half an hour or one hour to get there via walking. Bit long of a bathroom break me thinks.

The R32-R34 are considered as contraband but they did crash test the R33.

For America? Even so, it's not that, it's the fact that the retarded people in my school think they're illegal because of so much power. I reply that what about ZR1's or something (because it's too hard to explain and persuade that the GTR only has around 276 hp) and they don't know what to say, always some stupid response. Really grinds my gears. Even this 20-something guy who comes to the local skatepark sometimes says those damn supras have some serious power they're a fast car" thinks they are ridiculously fast stock. Irks me more than it should.

Motorex did infact hire a company to conduct crash testing, however, they only crash tested one car, a R33, and the submitted data was then approved. All good and well? Not so much. The approval that Motorex pushed through the NHTSA was that R32’s, 33’s and 34’s were to be imported and the crash testing data from the R33 was used for all 3 models under a substantially similar clause that was later challenged in 2006 when the VCP-17 approval of Skyline imports for R32’s, 33’s and 34’s was reconsidered by the NHTSA. It was decided that the 3 models were far to different and the fact that there was no crash test data to support the R32’s and R34’s sealed their fate and got them removed from the non-conforming approval list at the NHTSA. The approval for import was later redesignated VCP-32 and only covered 1996-1998 R33’s both GTS and GTR varients. In a nutshell, only specific Skylines can be imported as of 2006 and there’s still a constant uphill battle over OBDII that still has yet to see the end of the tunnel.
It is probably the fact that the RB-series has potential power and its AWD. I think that certain drivers can handle certain cars better than others.

They definitely have potential. There is a R33 in the members' rides section, stock turbos, internals, nothing major done, making around 400whp.
Still, it just annoys me how people in school are so clueless, it does seem like a supercar though, in movies, extremely rare in the us, and potentially fast.

Yea, I would say majority of people could probably name an Enzo and a 458 Italia and a Lamborghini Gallardo and Murcielago. Kinda sucks that people only like the cars because their expensive and have 500-600 HP. About the GTR I have actually seen an R32 and I live in PA, though it could be one of those Skylines with a tweaked exhaust or something I've seen at car shows before. I honestly don't know if that's what they do but I'm guessing it is along with making it safer as they look a bit different.

Where in PA? I'm east-central, and all the cars are always hiding, not to mention 90% of enthusiasts' cars are american.

The whole Skyline crash-test business makes me rage anyway. Whatever happened to personal freedom and responsibility? Do the crash testing, publish the results, and let people decide for themselves if they want to take the risk.

Everything should be like that in my opinion. +1

But you're forgetting that if someone wrecks it would throw a high percentage of the precedent the courts would have established out the window. I wouldn't trust either the American or Canadian courts to deal with a death in a 'contraband' car within the existing legal framework. It would be a legal pandora's box, so to speak. And no, we can't change that many laws at once - your government would have to stop fighting itself before it could even think of changing laws, which doesn't look like is happening in the immediate future.

Long story short: the government is ultimately responsible for the protection of its citizens and won't let you drive something the government determines to be unsafe. Too much liability if it all goes wrong.

I'm about 10 minutes away from Allentown but I see some decent stuff every once in a while. I saw a GTR last week and a few weeks ago I saw two MKIV Supras and a BMW Z8.

Where are you!? I'm in northampton and the nicest car I've seen in months is an Evo 8 on coils, no wing, and rota grids. The Z8 was my favorite car for a while as a little kid, and GTR's are my favorite cars. The only mkIV supra I've seen is a non turbo stock one near my house. And a few in OC Maryland of course.

I think it's the same case scenario here too :(

What's really grinding my gears today is that my dad never listens to me.

Went to go to work this morning and discovered that someone had tried to break into my car. Well, I say "break into" the central locking doesn't work very well and sometimes forgets to lock all doors, so someone opened one of the doors that was unlocked. We actually heard this happen on Tuesday night, since the car alarm went off. They didn't actually take anything, I'm assuming because the alarm scared them off, but they left the door slightly open, which left the interior light on, which ran the battery flat.

So, when I discovered it wouldn't start this morning, I rang my dad and asked him to come round with some jump leads. I couldn't take my wife's car, the baby is sick, so she might need it today. Now, my parents have a Jaguar and a VW Polo, so I specifically said to my dad "bring the Jaguar". He replied "It's got a big battery in the Jag, you know".
I said "yeah, I know, but so's my Mondeo"
He said "No, it's got a big engine, so the battery will be too big for yours"
I said "No, I've got a V6 as well, it's the same battery" (it's actually the same engine, it's just that his says "Jaguar" on it and mine says "Ford" on it)
So what does he show up in? A 1-litre VW Polo, which appeared to have two AA batteries instead of a proper car battery. So it took about 10 minutes of blocking traffic (I live on a one-way street) to get enough juice into my battery to get it started.

Every thing is grinding my gears at the moment. Or should I say nothing is.

I have a depression coming on I think. I've been prone to these ridiculously unexplainable episodes my whole life and they can last anywhere from a few weeks to a month.

I've got medication but it doesn't always work because of the amount I drink that counteracts their chemical effects.

So...unless I'm wrong about this, and I haven't been yet, I'm about to spend an amount of time feeling soul less and glum without any sight of enjoyment to come. Yay fun.

Completely inevitable. If it gets really bad I don't think I'll be on the boards for a while.

Hope it doesn't get to that state for you and your mood picks up soon, its not easy having depression. I feel for you man.

It's 50/50 at the moment. The more I do to suppress it the worse it gets. I've been dealing with these bouts for a long time. I'm getting pretty good at managing it now but I still need the medication which I'll be collecting next week.

I'm not looking for sympathy and no advice can really help change anything but thanks for all the well wishing. I appreciate it. 👍

My new rant (s)!

My mate has gotten 37 credits throughout the year, and he needs 80 to pass the year. He could get another 25 easily in Graphics. But no he decides to continue talking about organizing some party where he's going to get drunk. He was in 3/5 of my classes today. In metal work (still 14 credits available) he did nothing. In Graphics (25 credits available) he did nothing. In Maths (Still 12 available) he wrote half a line. I've only got 40 credits, but at least I'm working towards passing. He thinks everything will go his way. Pfft.

Also.

There are some stupid girls at school who tease the handicapped, and try to make them fight each other, they used to annoy me (I'm not handicapped though... Yet :p) and they suddenly decided that annoying me was a bad idea after I angrily told them, Ïf you don't 🤬 off, then I will punch you in the head!" And I almost always just tolerate immature morons, but these 🤬 were just losers. I ended up displaying that I didn't deliver an empty threat! They tried again and I actually hit one of them, not hard. But they never bothered me again. It grinds my gears that people can think they are on top of the world, and that everything will go well. Pfft.

Also.
The disrespect my sister has towards my mum. Usually my sis goes with her boyfriend/ex boyfriend? To somewhere. Today they decided to crash here. So as a kind person my mum starts cooking dinner for them too. Then sis starts complaining that she's hungry and starving, so my mum says that she's making tea. Then sis says, I can't eat it though," because she claims to be gluten intolerant. Then they end up arguing, resulting in mum telling her that eventually she'll have to make her own food. So sis get's annoyed and her and boy/exfriend just leave. It's rude, other times she somes in at tea time, doesn't tell anyone she's coming home and then gets angry when no one has made her tea! Pfft.

Shem, just a suggestion but would laying off the booze for a few days help?

I know in my case it has before, and I am a pretty big drinker too

Car goes in for standard service, they have found an oil leak! This can only ever be expensive.... But hopefully I will have enough left to buy new brake pads AND discs.... Its like it knows I'm saving up my money to get rid of it, but its going to milk all my moneys worth first and leave me with no option but keep the thing!

And yes, I should have known better when I bought a Peugeot....

It does help as the booze is a depressive but the problem with that is that any socialising I do is done over a pint, and I'm going to need my mates to help me out.

I'm actually dealing better than I thought. The last few times have been hell but I'll be getting my pill on Monday so it should smooth out after that.

Only time will tell. Bring on roller-coaster!

(Bipolar disorder, what a biatch! :ouch:)

Exercise us the best thing for depression. Honestly. 👍

Well just keep socializing and keep your mind off the bad thoughts, and I hope you get better.

What Grinds my Gears?

The Arguments I keep having with the wife. 3 days in a row now, over things so stupid i'm to embarrassed to disclose details.

I think it's mostly my fault, she is Hormonal and that is a factor, but I am so quick to get angry and not let anything slide, at all.

I have had her in tears 3 nights in a row and feel like a real jack ass, granted it takes two to tango, but she has an excuse and is carrying my child so I really should lighten up and try to be calm.

I did go to the doctors once about all this and he said I had "severe anxiety issues" and put me on Beta Blockers, then Anti-depressants. I fear i'm relapsing into this state of mind again, it just sheer rage all the time caused by basically nothing...it makes you feel like a monster that hurts and pushes away anything close to you, currently i'm on the verge of tears and can't stop clentching my jaw and fists....so much rage...so little reason.

I hate this so much, but I don't want the meds again.

Now sitting in the living room with an upset wife in total silence and tension in the air.

I need to smash something
