What happened to all the cool GT4 Tracks?

Is it me or was hockenhien spotted in GT5? And what happened to sienna. It seemed they resolved the flag issue and it was still in the game, so where is it?

So many tracks from GT4 that should be here.......most have been listed already. I see no reason why every GT4 could be put into GT5.........I'll pay if it's not stupid money per track.

Personally I would like to see Grindewald from GT2. One of my favourite GT tracks ever.

And that Europa is a beast as well. We need the Europa premium dammit!!!!!!!!

Yep, I learned long ago, that when you don't know "WHY" something is, the answer is: MONEY.

They will be offering it as DLC later.

Book that.

(personally, I'm okay with that, it's their choice, and it's OUR choice to purchase it or not. I will for sure.)

Most people forget that GT5 Is not GT4! Its a new engine so they can´t just carry over Tracks. They can do many things easier but its not so easy like most think.

You say this yet they carry over all the cars with the same physics?

I may be the minority but I really miss the Motegi courses and the Seoul Central.

Seattle imo.
Touche.

I'm not impressed with Madrid and Rome circuits either. Seattle, Hong Kong and George V Paris had their own character and challenge, whereas Madrid and Rome are devoid of any great corners

Seoul and New York were great too

The track issue is just one of a number of huge disappointments for me. Other than Nurburgring PD removed all of my racing group's favorite LAN play tracks, plus all of my personal favorite tracks. Not only that, but they primarily removed the class of track (nice tight city courses, very rough organic tracks (El Capitan) etc., which best suited my favorite class of car; the small light nimble car. Then they additionally rendered not even a single example of my favorite cars as "Premium," leaving me forced to choose between my favorite cars or switching to less-enjoyed cars so that I can use the cockpit view. It used to be that GT didn't focus too much on a single type of racing or type of car, but with the GT5 release it has moved much more toward crafted rather than organic tracks, more open and high-speed tracks, and thus created a game which rewards powerful cars more than it does the nimble cars.

But while all these issues bother me, if I had to choose a single aspect of the game to "fix", I would choose to have them to add back all the great tracks they took out. (I also don't even like most of the new tracks, so really the only track in the game which I still fully enjoy is Nurburgring).

Seoul and New York were great too

I agree with both of you. Seoul, NY and Grindelwald were ace. Bring them back.

New Rome circuit sucks, bring back the full circuit. Seattle, Midfield and RED ROCK VALLEY DAGNABBIT

I was wondering about El Capitain, I swear that it was shown blatantly in a trailer, you could very obviously see the iconic snow drifts from offside of the track.

loved that track

Seattle was my favourite.

How did crap tracks like that Tokyo one get in and Seattle did not?

Hey, I just had a good smelling brain fart.
To stop the shame and pity over memorable tracks, how about we create a replica of the tracks in the track creator. So the whiners can shut the hell up and get back to their lives. :sly:
"That sounds like a tremendous idea Crooooooow!" 👍
"Thank you!" :sly:

The problem with the whole "our choice" is who is we? All that has to happen is enough people who will put up with being screwed to make it slightly more profitable than not screwinng people and guess what? Then we all have to deal with it because it won't go away and it will just end up being the norm to sell half finished games and essentially increase the game cost overall by tackinng on what should have been the game as DLC.

Basically like selling a burger and then selling the buns and pickles seperately for a small fee.

How is Tokyo crap? Its an ultra high-speed street circuit. You don't see many of those in the real world, do you?

The new Rome circuit on the other hand, now that's what I call a forgettable track. Its too short and nowhere near as fun as the original from GT2 and GT3.

You realize that is not the same right? I mean I haven't tried course editor much, but I don't remember being able to draw the course any way you wanted. And then even if you could do that, every course had a unique environment, which can't be recreated as well. So what do you got. No course.

Everything isn't perfect. Just give it a try sometime to get it as close as possible or something like it. The scenery does not need to be precise, just have fun trying to create a replica of any memorable track. I'll even try the challenge.

What baffles me is why they didn't include Infinion Raceway.

PD decides to include NASCAR but leaves out their one NASCAR course from previous games?!?! What were they thinking???

Good luck with that... it's just shy of winning the lottery ;)

Its bad enough that so many tracks were left out, but the least PD could do is give an explanation as to "why". They're obviously aware of this, so the least they could do is shed some light on why they made the decision to drop so many tracks. We GT fans tend to be very loyal, we deserve some type of answer.

Infineon and Midfield are my 2 favorites in GT4 that didn't make the jump.
The game being delayed for years wasn't enough of an indication?

Clearly they just didn't have enough time.

Don't get me wrong though, I'm with everyone else. I think tracks are one of the most important and underrated aspects of Gran Turismo. I'd prefer more original and real life tracks, and less variations. "Reverse" "Short" "East" etc. doesn't do much for me and feels like an artificial way to get the track count up.

i realy miss the practice track from GT3 (the one you can test the cars in the carage in GT3)
and the other is the big test track

Agreed. Tokyo is one of the better tracks that I'm glad they DID carry over. Lots of really fun high-speed turns in that track.

Yes... Midfield, Infineon, Citta di Aria and Costa di Amalfi, please. :D

Edit: Forgot El Capitan!

I'm struggling to see why they haven't actually put many of the tracks from past games into GT5, Trial Mountain and Deep Forest I'm guessing were taken from GT4, and had slight graphic upgrades in GT5. If this is so, they could do this to most of the tracks, it's a shame they carried over Trial Mountain yet left some of the more beautiful one's in the dust!

18:50 - 20:10 min there is your answer! It´s a different game but same situation.
