i have heard loads about it but i don't know wat it does?

I remember my teacher saying something like that they use a blue beam to read a disk instead of a red beam and that the blue beam is more focused so the data on a disk can be compacted more so you have more space??

It's not "more focused" so much as shorter wavelength, meaning it can read smaller data points, giving the higher density.
