Porsche has to be in.

I love the reasoning.

I think this is another discussion that could have been solved by reading one of the many threads dedicated to Ferrari/Porsche/Lamborghini and licensing issues thereof.

I bet the creators at PD are having great fun driving and watching the replays of all those Ferraris,Porsche and Lambos.....

I think there is a good chance that both F & P will be in GT4....... there may well be a bidding war between EA and PD for the licences but at the end of the day it won't be just about who offers the most cash!...... Porsche and Ferrari will award the licence to the company they feel will serve their purposes best!

Who would you choose? EA or PD? Having Ferrari and Porsche in GT will be worth MILLIONS to both car companies...... go figure! The only thing that will stop Porsche and Ferrari being in GT4 will be lawyers stringing the process out (if there are any legal issues to sort out).

To be totally honest I think Porsche's, Lambo's and Ferrari's are wasted in EA games.........They don't make great use of the licence and (as was said earier) these car manufacturers will go for the company which will give them the best image and the most popularity.......you can't get much bigger than the most succesful driving game in console history!

Need for Speed only had supercars really and I think its a waste.....PD could do so much more with these manufacturers......also, EA is now going down the "underground" route so they don't really need these manufacturers anymore.....a Greddy Tuned Lambo Countach!!!......I think not

Having F & P in GT will be worth exactly nothing to both companies (in comercial terms)- they just have no need to be in GT. They already spend millions every year advertising their cars through their various motorsports commitments. Their inclusion in a computer game will do nothing to their sales figures, people don't spend 60-160k on a car off the recomendation of a game. The only reason they are in the EA games is because EA gave them big money to put them there. If PD can't/won't stump up the cash for the licences, Ferrari and Porsche won't loose any sleep over their exclusion. PD has done well so far without F & P, maybe they aren't bothered either?

"If I'm wrong, you can laugh at me lol"

We do anyway, cobra, look at your track record, 99% of anything you say is crap. Porsche may be in (chances are they won't), that video means nothing, the video is taken from a track day they had to get the feel for driving fast cars and pushing them, NOT ONCE does it say "these cars are in GT4".

Code please, you shouldn't talk about anyone being laughed, mentioning NG in about every thread with xb included. You insecure of your xb or something? You are a straight up xb fanboy. Like majin said, you really are a xb fanboy and I doubt you even take gt4 seriously. Porsche will be in, you'll see. In the vids, they showed PD testing them, see the Mine modified porsche? I bet if you could choose the faith of ferrari and porsche in gt4, you would deny it. I know you would.

What do they buy them off the reccomendation of then? adverts? car magazines? well id say that GT would do more to sway people into buying one than either if the above... and is the next best thing (and maybe the thing that leads you) to test driving the real thing.

Most people that buy these cars buy them for the history behind them.
The Name itself, The racing pedigree.
That plus the Status of owning one.
The look and the sound are also what intrests many buyers.
How many do you see racing round the streets?
they are not exactly worried if it can do 0-60 in 4.3 seconds or 4.8.
I see at least one Ferrari a day and untold Porsches, most are driven by middle aged business men with more money than they no what to do with.
Most are driven sensibly (not sure what Ian Wright was upto the other day when he totaled his Ferrari on a tree in suburban london), you very rarely see one burning away from the lights.
The inclusion in a video game is not going to influence any one in to purchasing one.

I'd have to agree with some of what you are saying but I still think having such cars in GT would make a difference......

Maybe not to the fat wallet businessmen of today but maybe the fat wallet businessmen of tomorrow?. I'm not saying that just because somebody drives a Ferrari in GT will mean that they'll all want to buy one in the future BUT it may make a difference to SOME people....... people often make long standing commitments to certain brands well before they can afford to buy them!......

I for one landed firmly in the Ferrari camp from exposure to them as a kid...... that early preferance is still with me....... I wouldn't look twice at a porsche in the street (unless it was the Carrera GT) but ALWAYS watch as a Ferrari goes by! 👍

Anyone who's in a position to buy a Porsche, Ferrari or Lamborghini isn't going to just go out and buy one on the spur of the moment after playing GT4 for 15 minutes. (Except the eccentric and hyper-rich, perhaps).

But oh, how I want to see a plethora of Ferraris in the game.

Well, I believe it´s possible that Ferrari, Porsche and Lamborghini may already be included in the final game, but, just like previous GT releases, if the licencing issues are not resolved in time, these cars will simply be hidden in the disc.

Remember, guys, it happened many times in the past. GT Concept has TONS of hidden cars, accesible only through Action Replay and other programs like this.

Let´s hope KY and the PD staff can solve the licensing just before GT4 goes Gold. It would be the greatest news of all time for GT enthusiasts, racers and gamers in general...

Just check the following links:

The 911 GT3 in Gran Turismo 3!!!

And that's DEFINITELY NOT a Ruf!!!

I totally agree with his comment (I was going to say the same things)

I hope they (if don't get the licence) do like Prologue (including them hided in the disc)

Can some one translate cobras post so it makes sense? Thanks in advance!

"I doubt you even take gt4 seriously."

BW AHAHAHAHHAA, I have to take a game seriously? Oh that's funny.

In the vids, they showed PD testing them.
How many times do you need to be told, PD wasn't testing thoes cars, not in one scene did PD test any of thoes cars for GT4, all that vid is, is a some clips of a PD staff day out. Feel free to argue that it hints at Ferrari and Porsche being in GT4, but stop saying they were seen tested, they wern't although Ferrari's and Porsches probably have for for future refference and incase they do make it into GT4.

Got bad eye sight?
PDVD_001_1085618454.jpg

Those aren't TT's I hope you know. Those are porsche being tested, the pics with the ferraris might show what the team does on their off day but the pics I posted, no one is having fun, they are testing.

And in either of thoes pics, where are the guys taking pics, usiong recording equiptment, lifting the bonnet/boot in a Porsche? Go on where are they, because they don't look like theres anyone testing them to me. Besides, even if they are, reffer to my last post about why testing them does not mean they ar in the game.

Also that first one looks mor like a Ruf to me, I might be wrong as I'm not a big Porsche fan.

"no one is having fun"

You were there? You work for PD? Im sure driving a porsche is "abit" fun.
BTW we have ALL SEEN THOSE PICTURES 3 BILLION TIMES, no need to post them every 3 seconds and use them as proof that a car is in GT4, when I see IN GAME graphics of a porsche in gt4 (and I want a car selection shot too), then I shall believe.

LOOK THERES A SHED IN THAT PICTURE!!! OMFG OMFG OMFG THERES GONNA BE SHEDS IN GT4!!! OMG OMG OMG

That's no RUF. That's a 911 GT2 and I'm a huge fan of porsche. I'm more of a fan of porsche than ferrari actually. If we can't have ferrari or lambo, I'll be happy with porsche.
