Hiya! :D :O  Meow! (='.'=)

I would have to say that I think the McLaren F1 wins me in this topic!!! :O:O:O I just cant stop dreaming about the center drive and the light weight feel of the car. Powered by a V12 with 627 HP from BMW and light for a supercar is what gets my attention anyday!!!:O:O

PVO Vipers are my favorite car. It's a shame they didn't make the GTS-R Concept a production model.:(

I'm not like M5 "I've got eleventy-nine cars" Power.

When we have the kid next spring, I'm getting an old Bentley (early 90s) as a family sedan. Some people get Camrys, I get a Bentley. I don't imagine it'd cost over $50k for a decent one, even if I have to ship it.

I'll bring the Esprit over and we can go track day :D

Bentleys, big though they are, are really, really quick.

Anything with a 350+ hp engine is fast, unless the car weight as much as a dump truck.

Cool to hear about a possible Bentley in the future M5!

Quattro Sport!

The RS200 is cool but not the coolest car. The coolest car is the Aston Martin DB9 at the moment by a clear mile, the coolest car ever imo changes at the moment I'd probably say it's another Aston the V8 Vantage of the 70's.

You sounds like Jeromy from Top Gear

Back to topic...

The RS200 is awesome. It disapoints me I wasn't around when they were sold. Famine, were they production to the public or for racing only?

Some were public, some were racing, don't remember numbers on each. I've seen one RS200 once... really effing cool. Almost as cool as a Mk1 MR2!

I think these cars are cool:

Honda NSX-R

Shelby GT500E

gt40 is only partly british....give props where props is due !!!

Yes - it was only designed, fabricated, engineered and built in the UK. The 7-litre American engine and finance is what makes it American.

Due to Group B's homolgation rules, 200 cars had to be produced and many were made available to the public. However, Ford hadn't completed their production when Group B went tits up, and many partly assembled cars were taken apart for spares. Best guess is that about 160 examples made it out of the factory alive - including the last, 1-off RS200 GTO IMSA, kicking out 850hp from a 2.1 litre engine.

One RS200 - a standard, non-Evolution model, pushing a mere 350hp - went on eBay for £59,000 last week. £50,000 is roughly what you'd expect to pay for a decent road-going one.

What is the difference in "coolest cars" and "favorite cars"?

To me this sound like, what is your favorite car thread? If I am correct most people who said ______ is the coolest car, also agree that it is their favorite car/ one of their most favorite.

So yeah, there are similar threads like this roaming around.

To me, a loyal Skyline GTR fan. I have to pick the R34. I know that there are better cars for the money, and cars that easily out perform or win in any sense but I love the R34.

It is like people loving the 1st generation Ford Mustang. There maybe cars that outperform it at the time, and of course, there are cars that outperform it now but they still love their Ford Mustang to death. Even though there are cars that easily beat it in every sense.

The NSX-R gets my respect due to its quickness, but it is much overpriced. The NSX-R does 0-60 in 4.3 second and run the 1/4 right at 12.7-12.8s. That is amazing for a car that only has 280-290hp. It weights only 2800lbs at least this Type R version does.

I think it would be a great buy for 40K-45K but at the price it is now which is around 90K, there are way better cars for the money.

NSX-R proves its quickness by posting a lap time of 7:56.3xx at Nurburgring. Just around the time of the 911 Turbo, 911 GT3, and Corvette Z06. If you could believe it or not, all post times in the 7 min 56 second range. I do not know how but yeah.

Anyways with that said, NSX-R IS NOT FASTER THAN THE Z06, TURBO, or GT3. I think the reason the NSX-R got the time it got was that the driver was a train professional with over 30 years of racing history and is consider a legend in Japan at least. If you have seen the video, he pushed the NSX-R TOO HARD and redlines that car as if all hell has just broken loose.

Here are some cars that I think are really cool:

Skyline GTR
Porsche 911 Turbo/ 911 GT3/ 911 GT2
Ferrari 360 Modena/ Challenger
Ferrari Enzo

Indeed. However, my three favourite cars ever are the Ford RS200, Ferrari F40 and Aston Martin DB9. The best car ever created is the Aston Martin DB9. My next car is the Lotus Esprit V8 (I've flitted around for next cars - but I've finally settled on something British... :D).

The coolest car ever? That'll be whatever I'm driving.

Lol, it certainly isn't what I'm driving.

So true. If I had a Ferrari Enzo, and saw you driving one, I will pour gasoline over the Enzo and burn it.

:)

Because your just that damn cool. 👍

Nice taste in cars Famine... I would keep the first two but add the 993 911 porsche. :) oh yeah and that would have to be a turbo...

Vectors suck!!!!!!!!!

So ugly they couldn't sell them

They are about as cool as David Hasselhoff!

blah blah blah....lol just kidding, thats for the info !!!!! Always want to learn more about cars....esp... the GT40 👍 👍

I think the Z06 is one of the coolest car, for reasons mentioned in Rollazns post about the nurburgring. Badass fast times...tens of thousands of dollars cheaper than the other performance cars that posted similar lap times.

S2 Elise isn't too bad to get in and out of, even with a hard top on - its certainly worth the effort!

One day i will get me an elise... too bad it has a toyota celica engine in it. Oh yeah i forgot to add that the porsche 959 is hot and sexy. Lets see other cool cars would be the original camaro and firebird, the gto, the miura, the original ferrari gto's, porsche/cisitalia f2 cars, pegaso z102 i believe, the gt40, aston martin vantage and vanquish, the porsche 356, all porsches except the 914 and 924, and i think that is all i can spit out off the top of my head :o.
