yeah what is the difference

im asking because i have a NTSC PS2, but i got as a present Driver Paralel Lines and its PAL

Different resolutions and framerates, primarily.

NTSC is 720x480 at 30fps (60i). PAL is 720x576 at 25fps (50i).

Without a modchip, you won't be able to play that PAL disc on your NTSC PS2, and even if you did, you'd probably need a television capable of displaying a PAL image. Trying to crossover is generally a bad idea.

Next-gen it won't matter anymore.. there are no more separations.. HD is HD, universal.

Not really. Even if your TV can display PAL the game will show black and white, because your PS2 is NTSC. So you have two options: Use a component cable instead of the regular RCA one or use an y-fix patch on the game and burn it onto a dvd-r.

Edit: Unless your modchip is capable of converting PAL to NTSC, like the Matrix Infinity or the DMS.

But the real true reason for its existence is retardedness... the lack of vision to make a global standard that would *cringes* not generate as much profit.

Because it's so much better for companies to make you have to buy everything again in Europe (at double the cost) instead of being able to import it from the US. :grumpy:

so you mean that i get a dvd-r disc and burn it on my PC?

Yes, make a back up of the game. Like burning a music cd.

But this kind of talk isn't allowed on GTP so I won't go any further.
