Yeah I hadn't checked on this for a while :L. When I las t checked there were only 3 pages now there are 8 my bad ^^'

It's only fun if everyone follows the rule and just push the car a little when there is no cars around or quickly slow down when u see a car up in front from the map in case it might be a police

Most room now are fuc*ed up with everybody racing or with x1

If anyone of you guys create these rooms do add a GTP to the title so we know that the chances of the room being fuc*ed is lower than any other random rooms;)

Instead of cruising around a race track at 60 km/h I think it would be great if there was either as DLC or as a separate disc to add on with an entire open city to cruise around in, but no AI traffic.. just all online players.

That said it would be really weird with 16 cars driving around an entire city.

Than it will become damn lag lol

These type of rooms just annoy me, in my opinion there soo boring I just end up getting my silvia out and drifting it

I like it actually , i saw its many times but i thought its stupid and i wanted to open a new thread but i got too busy and i forgot about it .
thank you for this thread now i want to participate in this event or whatever its called .

^ Have you been paying attention to the GTPGCA thread? There have been a couple of rooms hosted by other members today.

All of them gone by the time I get there, so I give up, go play MW3, then come back to GT5 to find nobody online :dopey:

The only problem I still see is Kaz saying, "this is a racing simulator, not a cops and robbers simulator."

No no, it was always called: "The Real Driving Simulator".

DRIVING... that means, any driving activity... racing, cruising, testing, etc

Cops and robbers encourages the use of extreme speed, either for running away or catching.

Cruising is quite the opposite of that; Keeping a steady speed for the purpose of creating a pack, or to slowly break-in your car. It is also a change from all of the intense racing that goes on online; much like a lounge lobby or a free-run lobby.

Cruising is actually quite a lot of fun, even though you're driving slowly.

If you have a G27 or any wheel that uses a clutch and an H-shifter its definitely fun to do. For me with a soon to be gone dfp, it gets boring after 10 minutes.

Never thought about that. I have a G27 and I love to cruise; but my brother who has a DFGT, isn't as gung-ho about it.

I'm hosting these lobbies myself almost every time I play online and they are real fun if you keep them clean of speeders and have active cops. There's nothing better than cruising around Côte d'Azur sitting in your favourite car, with 2 cars in front and behind you all rolling at the same speed.

Jai
They are all full of idiots anyway.

Depending on the host.

I don't know why its at SSR7 most of the time. It is better off somewhere like Cote or Tokyo.

Tokyo R246 is problematic if you want to use the track two-ways. Actually the best tracks are Côte d'Azur, Toscana Tarmac, Circuit de la Sarthe and Special Stage Route 7 (both ONLY if there aren't speeding idiots that drag race all the time). But you need to make a difference. A speed limit of 160 kph driving through Monaco is fun, but on SSR7 you might want to drive 200 kph.

The only way to get a good kick out of this is to find someone who does this in private lobbies only. If you go to a public lobby it's just a wreck with no cops, tons of Tank Cars, the odd FGT and just a bunch of general rammers around the whole place.

No... if the host takes care (like me), it's easy to evade the noobs. Limit the performance points, tyres, set damage on heavy and suddenly half of the room will leave - but the people that stay will mostly be friendly cruisers.

another way to extend the longevity of GT5 due to lack of features

Main reason why I do host this kind of lobbies.

It's basically like a free roam mode (except that due to some extremely bad luck with construction work, a couple of accidents and a nuclear bomb threat downtown all intersections have been closed...).

This.

I've joined a few rooms and driven cars that I wouldn't have otherwise driven in my garage (3.2 Acura CL-S, Honda Accord Coupe, etc)

Or I'll whip out my GT-R Pace car and chase people around. It's fun because usually when I'm online, I just wanna find something to do with my cars that isn't necessarily racing (since racing can stress me out).

That's the truth. I usually first race around, and than set up a room to relax.

does anyone know a good host who's doing this kind of stuff. I'd like to try it out but don't like idea of mindless ramming.

ME! :p

I try to keep my lobbies as clean as possible. If you're interested in joining, send me a friend request at PSN saying you'd like to join next time. I'll send you a message when I open a room next time then.

Have these people ever heard of Need for Speed Hot Pursuit? I don't get why this is interesting at all in GT5.

Yes, I do play Need for Speed Hot Pursuit from time to time... but it's all about the arcade fun then. It's the adrenaline of speed NfS is about.

And cruising rooms are about cruising, which is not possible in HP due to the lobby system and car handling. In GT5, it is possible.
I usually set up the rooms for cruising, not for cop chases... they just happen if idiots join and my helpers or I myself have to chase them so we see the name and know who to warn or kick.

... We need to start a cops league on GTP.

I'd like to start a cruise league on GTP. But I don't know if I'll find enough people to join...

If you want to keep up, put the lobby to >600pp - <570pp.

I've gotten ~ 330km/h - 205mph in my Pace car.

That's how to do it - limit the power of the lobby! To drive 70 miles per hour, you don't need your fully tuned LP670-4 SV...

If anyone on GTP makes one of theese servers they should put GTP in the tag line or room name so you know theres no stuffing around

Interesting idea but there also are many people around that don't come from GTP and are nice cruisers anyway.

I don't see why people don't like this idea. It gives you the chance to drive in a car you wouldn't be able to in real life at regular speeds on a normal road (Toscana Tarmac works great) like you would in real life. Turn off the HUD, go into cockpit view, enjoy yourself.

This.

Well i drive my real car at the speed limits and i have a games console for doing the absolute opposite, to break away from reality. What a bizzare idea, personaly i just don't get it. Sounds nearly as ridiculous as grown men getting their kicks from My Little Pony.

I'm no little kid, but no grown men either. I'm too young to get my driving license, so I need to do it on other ways... of course real-life driving is better, but not possible to anyone.

Oh, and to break away from reality, take your... let's say Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 to Monaco and cruise around... could you do this in reality? And be home for dinner 10 minutes later again?...

It's fun on tracks like Toscana where people can (and are able to without ramming each other) drive on both lanes in the opposite directions. It feels like real road cruising.
On SSR11 it would be better with more drivers (like 32 or more), due to the track length.

The problem when you're a host is that the more people are in the lobby, the more problems you have keeping an eye on them all. And 32 would be difficult even for my internet connection. :p

Some people here I bet don't even give these lobbies a chance!
It is really good because it makes the game "The real driving simulator". :D

THIS! Quoted for the truth. GT5 is not made for racing, it's made for DRIVING!

This sounds rather fun, I want to give it a try now :D Any good hosts on here?

ME!!!! :p

Won't be that active at my PS3 the next days though.
