Spots are pimples and zits, right? Well, yeah, it's not always pus, but, rather, it's Sebum. Sebum is the oil produced by your sebaceous glands which are found all throughout your skin. They're what keeps your face "moisturized." Anyway, what happens with a zit is that the duct where the sebaceous gland and hair follicle are attached gets clogged. Then, all of the sebum gets backed up because of the clog and forms a bump on your skin. Pus will form only after it gets infected and stuff. Puss is made up of cellular debris and dead neutrophils, whereas Sebum is just a composition of lipids.
