WCTR isn't broken up into 3 sections. It's broken up into about 7 different shows. The News with Leanne Forget, Gardening with Maurice, Entertaining America, I Say You Say, The Wild Traveller, that sports show, etc.
I like the way they've
set out the chat station on San Andreas very much, and I've wanted it to be set out like that for a while now, but the shows need to be improved. The humour just isn't that humourous, and it was disappointing to see Lazlow with a smaller part. I also think that the Chat Station should be played according to the time of day, rather than randomised. I mean something will start at a certain time of day and finish at a certain time, the next show comes on, etc. And instead of playing everything of that show and making it repetitive, have a few smaller shows for each set out and playing them each on different days. That will break down the repetitiveness.
The randomisation of the other stations is a good idea. I do like the radio on San Andreas, and personally I think it's the best all-round line-up. Alternative station, classic rock, country music, rap, rare-grooves, funk, etc. The only thing I found odd was the Classic Hip-Hop station. Since when?
GTA III's radio was a bit "meh". Most of the music was made up, but there wasn't any rock, or more appealing music to the newer generation to listen to except for rap. The only really good station was Chatterbox, and I'm sure most would agree that it was the best in all of the games.
Vice City was a little better, except once you start learning the words to all of the 80's love songs, it gets a bit suspect.

V-Rock was great, second-best in all of the games for me. Wave, Flash and Emotion were all good to laugh at the 80's. Espantoso was damn cool!
But meh, I wonder if they'll utilise the online-aspect of the PS3 and update the radio stations if you go online on the next GTA? Just a thought.
