Nurburgring.
Seriously, I despise everything that Tilke does. I even hate when he breathes.
Then you clearly don't understand how his circuits are designed.
Take, for instance, his modifications to Hockenheim. They were universally despised when unveiled. However, it is pretty obvious that he was told to shorten the circuit, and more importantly, to use the old circuit as a boundary. Given the shape of the old circuit, there was never much that he could do.
Likewise the Nurburgring GP circuit. He only modified the first sector, and was once again limited by the existing circuit, the pits and paddock, and the spectator facilities. He was not given a blank canvas. He was given a small patch of land and asked to fit as much circuit into it as possible.
People complain that his circuits are flat and boring. When he showed up in Shanghai to design the circuit, he found that the Chinese government had set aside some reclaimed swampland for him. On the other hand, he was consulted on the piece of land to be used in Istanbul and Austin. Is it any coincidence that these are regarded as two of his best circuits, whilst Shanghai is one of his worst?
Even then, his ability to design a circuit is limited. He has criticised the Abu Dhabi pit exit, the one that goes under the circuit, saying it was never his intended or preferred design. Someone evidently changed the plans. Likewise Singapore. The current circuit is littered with pointless chicanes included for the novelty of going under a grandstand, and the agonising Singapore Sling (which has recently been removed). Tilke's original design had none of this. The Singapore Sling wasn't a problem, because the circuit was run in the opposite direction, and the pointless chicanes never existed because that was the main straight and pit lane. After his design was submitted, an American consultancy group was called in. They kept the same basic shape, but reversed the circuit and added a few corners. But Tilke is still credited with the design.
