My Kevin Gilbert collection got a little more comprehensive today with my third copy of his first posthumous release, The Shaming Of The True, an obvious play on the title of the Shakespeare comedy, added to the limited edition and the 2011 remaster. Originally re-re-released in 2015 with its current plastic card stock gatefold and booklet, an early shortage and subsequent forgetfulness on my part explains the delay...but better late than never.

Also picked up an early work from his act N.R.G that I've somehow managed to only have on vinyl for the last 25 years.

Probably should have pulled the blinds for that first one as I did the second...oh well.

:P

A new cassette of Horror Synth by the excellent Dream Division.

A limited set of John Carpenter music. Through Sacred Bones & Discogs Exclusives. Since sold out I believe.

What sort of equipment are you using for cassette?

Believe it or not I use this...

There is a 5pin DIN socket on the side which I use into my Amp. Not the best sound at all. Until I finally save to convert my basement into a dedicated music room, I don’t really have much space for a Nakamichi or similar.

I think Don't Care is my favourite so far. The Oysterhead album should show up any day now.
I like "Don't Care". "Love Lessons" and "Guerrilla" have always been personal favorites.

I'd all but completely forgotten about Oysterhead.

I still adore the work he did for Dead Like Me, the theme song not insignificant among that--and to think I might not have given the show a chance had it not been for my love of Mandy on Chicago Hope.

A new CD. I posted the wax version over in the Vinyl thread. This double CD came from Japan.

Brilliant Jazz stuff.

I might have to check this out just because of the cool cover art.

Tokio Aoyama is the guy who did the art. He’s brilliant and does a lot of Jazz, Soul and Hip Hop stuff. I follow him on Instagram.

I’ve got a few other records with his artwork on.

"Lake House" and "Feeling Good" by Demun Jones. I'm not one to buy songs after only hearing them just once, but after hearing these two songs, I just had to and I have no regrets! It's as if this man knows how to hit that sweet spot for me that makes me want to buy his music after one listen.

I just bought "Backyard Lullaby" and now I almost want to put it on repeat. I pity those that haven't heard of him yet.

Nice new mashup EP by Altered Crates. It’s acapellas from Andre 3000 and music by Madlib. It features some other vocalists too. It’s a brilliant EP.

My Gunship double tape arrived. Couldn’t help myself in getting this. I already own the album on Wax but this set has the instrumentals and a remix by a fan for a competition they did.

And another CD today. It was free from my local shop. It was a promo copy sent to record shops, as he wasn’t going to listen to it and it was free to him he gave me it.

I haven't been buying too many physical CDs recently for obvious reasons, but I've been going nuts on Bandcamp.

Though I prefer videogames and films in a physical format, I only buy digital for music.
Recent purchases, all packaged with digital booklets:
