What type of engine do you use playing GT5?

Normally Aspirated

Supercharged

Turbo Charged

I prefer Turbocharged, namely the EVO X.

I prefer Naturally Aspirated. NSX-R, Elise, etc.

But if you ask me, you can't tell any real diference in GT5P when driving the different types of engines (NA, Turbos, Supercharged, etc). I.e. the BMW 135i (Twin Turbo if I'm not mistaken) and the M3 (NA) feel about the same in terms of engine responsiveness, handling, etc. They even sound identical.

I prefer naturally aspirated V8s, and turbo 6s. Superchargers I also like on both V8s and 6s. V12s and V10s are good fun too. Hence you can see why I didn't vote, as there isn't an option that says "all of the above".

The way the 135i's engine is designed, you aren't supposed to feel the turbo's kick in,it has one small T for low revs and a slightly bigger T for high revs.

I like the immediate response from an NA. Epitomised by the F430 :D

I agree to an extent (e.g. Mine's GTR is very linear for a force-fed, and the mentioned BMW cars) that some engine types are hard to distinguish. But the F40 has ridiculous lag...but that's half the fun in driving it :sly:

I love the TURBO! I have grown to like the Amuse S2000. Plus many other cars I can't think of at the moment in GT3 & GT4. I remember a Nissan R390 or something like that I used to race in GT3 & GT4 all the time that was turbo charged and you could also here it too. I hope GT5 has that car as to my favorite track which is Laguna Secca.

In real life, i love the turbo feel... I love getting to a certain RPM and really feel almost a powerband kick in and you fly... but in GT5P YOu really don't feel that, or a Vtec type deal, so i can't tell the difference...

I much prefer NA (and voted as such), but i'll go with any of the others if required for an olr, rather than miss out :)

I believe that particular Mine's GTR was made to make the engine as responsive as possible, it was tested by Tsuchiya & Co. :sly: Look for it on Youtube.

The F40 is awesome! My favorite by far. It just explodes from 4000 rpm and upwards.

As a general rule, I like the NA cars (Elise, Integra, Ferraris 430 and 512) but I don't say no to either of the others - I race the supercharged Mini Cooper S regularly and there are some great turbo cars in the game.

I like turbos, but not those with the massive lag. For example, the turbos in the BMW 135i are perfect, but the turbo in the Evo IX has too much lag IMO.

Your right, Mine's builds all their cars to be highly responsive and to have great drivability.

In real life turbo is hands down the funnest to drive, and most certainly feels the fastest when the rush of boost kicks in. NA is usually better HP for HP due to the instant engine response, of course. I would consider SC to be the worst of the bunch HP for HP because it adds power depending on RPM so it won't have the mid-range punch of turbo. Obviously every set-up is different and some might find SC best suited for that particular engine. In game, though, you don't feel anything so I would have to say NA would be the best because if you make a mistake you have that instant power to help you through it.
