Which camera view do you race in the most?

Bumper cam, because I feel more in control and it doesn't feel slow compared to chase cam which lacks a sense of speed. The same could be said for the the bumper cam, however it's not so bad when you compare it to chase cam which I previously used. Another reason for using bumper cam is because a lot of the pros seem to use it which is always something to look out for. They must be using it for a reason right?

Default view.

Incar on a TV just goes all uncanny valley on me. If it is an open cockpit car however - I'll run that... (Pescarolo - LCC Rocket- KTM XBOW.

Nice as when I pit it forces Cockpit view... and in reality the dashboard would have chocolate bar wrappers and a Magic Tree air fresheners dangling about... the car is way too clean.

Maybe Future DLC will add this much needed cockpit clutter. (Maybe a girl (Backpacker) with a map (Upside down) or a foot well full of parking tickets, soda cans.

People say cockpit view is more realistic, but I respectfully disagree. Without the ability to see peripherally out side windows and into side mirrors, for example, the FOV is too limited. It will be exciting to see what the Sony VR headset does to GT when, and if, they are paired in future games. 90 degree FOV would be amazing. That said, cockpit view in open wheeled vehicles is still great fun.

Most of the time I use chase cam, just because that's what I'm used to from older GTs, but I use roof cam on licences test and anything serious.

Bumper... For me, it just works the best. It's smooth and polished (AKA: Finished). It's the only one that I think they actually nailed down. I can't get a good enough view to make cockpit work and roof is just goofy (IMHO). I usually prefer chase, but it just feels awkward & ckunky in the GT games. I think I actually use chase in every other racing game.

Call me a premium car snob but cockpit view only with me. No HUD, assists, or racing line. Angle of view depends on dashboard layout, I want to see tach and gear indicator if they have one, a must if car has paddle only. I can't believe how many times I've still had laps left when i crossed the finish line.

Cockpit cam these days, don't like the others especially the chase cam one although I understand 'why' people use it.

Rather play GT6 for the realism than a time a few tenths quicker.

I used to use a DS3 and use chase cam. I got a G27 and the chase cam felt awkward so I switched to the bumper cam. However, i really really enjoy driving stock cars around the Nurburgring in cockpit view with all the hud off and the volume on my mixamp way up (Dolby Digital surround) it's super cool to lap the ring in free run lobbies in a stock NSX Type R '02 (you gotta try it with comfort softs) with only visual or audio cues to alert you of approaching race cars. I just discovered the car/tire combo and it's pretty much all I have been doing the past few days. It's really immersive and the car was meant for the ring. Best fun I have had in the game so far. Especially when like minded drivers decide to grab a similar car on the same tires and lap it with ya. I will occasionally throw the sports exhaust and intake mod on it also (IMO most likely mods in real life) if I want a bit more power and better sound. I highly suggest whoever reads this to give it a try, you will not regret it.

since im using a ds3 im guessing the chase cam? the one which you can see the whole of the car from behind, i use that because im naturally faster with that cam on a controller, and also when your side by side fighting for position, you can see more of your surroundings and are less likely to have an accident with another car, when im cruising il always use cockpit though

Well said! I was just about to post something similar. Especially with a smaller tv like mine (32") I can't afford to lose a big chunk of that to the cockpit. When I'm driving in real life I don't always see my speedo or my wheel, I'm focusing on the road. I would say cockpit view would be more immersive, but I do believe it comes at the cost of realism.

For premium cars I use cockpit and chase cam, for standard I use only chase cam because I can't stand them standard blacked out cockpits. Truthfully It was a bad idea to go that route of standard black cockpits and think they should be removed. It just looks, dumb, one of if not the worst ideas for the game.

I constantly switch between all views. Cockpit to make it a little bit realistic, roof to look like one of those real life test drives with camera on roof, bumper cam for maximum precision (of you can call it like that) and chase cam to enjoy the view of my car and environment.

I use either hood (roof) or bumper cam. I get the best view and the best feel for the width of the car there.

Since I got my DFGT, I use the roof camera :) I tried with the bumper cam, but I felt like I wasn't able to keep full control of the entire car. In GT5 when I used a DS3, I loved using the cockpit view because it felt a bit more realisitc for me. But with Standards, I go bumper all the time.

(Also, I voted for 'bumper' because I thought that was the 'roof' cam x_x)

I go a step further and turn off the track diagram HUD. My previous rule was to use cockpit view on all premiums and the normal view for standards, but ever since PD updated the standard's cockpit view with the full gauge layout I've been using the blacked out interior view much more. The only drawback with dark standard car interior view is you can't gauge the length of your hood. Otherwise it seems PD has tried to make the silhouettes resemble the real car.
