What would you rate this game on a scale of 1-100?

High 80's. Which is pretty good for a unfinished game, with updates come pouring in it will eventually be in the 90's. Im happy with that.

I honestly wouldnt hold my breath over constant free updates like Kaz has said. Come on the next one allows b-spec from anywhere. Gee, thanks PD, more features for b-spec...one of the worst features in the game. How about you fix issues with the game itself or is this a signal of the direction they'll be taking with the updates.

Why do I say this; because he said GT5P would have plenty of updates. New content added, even said damage would be added to GT5P. Sure we got a few updates, but that was it. Therefore I'm seeing it like this, GT5 will maybe get twice as many updates as GT5P did. In the end it will always be an unfinished product.....come to think of it, why did we all buy an unfinished product? If anything we all just supported their bad game development philosophy.

I'm sure people will try to say they stopped updating GT5P because they were working on GT5. Therefore, one can't get upset when they stop updating GT5 because they are working on GT6.

Like many people have said I'd have to say the same thing. The Lack of tracks really brings the game down for me. To me this game more feels like prologue with new features and cars thats all really. I give it about a 77/100

I suspect the source of a lot of the disappointment with GT5 is PD's lack of customer focus:

Number one goal of most other quality driving game producers: customer satisfaction.

Number one goal of PD: Implement Kaz's vision for the game (e.g., B-Spec)

I wasn't expecting to get 93% completion so soon, and I haven't even played the game that often. I don't think this game is bad, but it just seems a little short. It's nice that seasonal events are in, but without tuning restrictions, it almost seems like free money/exp (each of which you can only win once if you get 1st place).

As much as I like GT5, i can't give this higher than a 70. Hopefully, they put some new tracks, events, or something in.

81 out of 100 (I've pretty much stopped playing now)

After six years of development...too many bugs, not nearly enough premiums, and some standards just look terrible (the inability to change wheels has made most standards all but irrelevant to me). The lack of a drag strip is also a bit puzzling since it is a useful tuning tool (and often fun to use), and it was in GT4.

To get me playing it again: Make the E46 M3, MKIV Supra, and Bugatti Veyron premiums...add the 2011 5.0 Mustang and 2012 GTR as premiums, along with a few more events (Type R Race, BMW M Race, etc.) 👍

70 ish......

As a driving simulater it gets 92/100, short of the little quirks ex. Mclaren F1 "only" being able to do 220ish and and having a retarded gear system its all but perfect, that and car noise, i wish they could just important Need for Speed car sounds for Gran Turismo (those games always get me thinking a lambo is in my roam whoaling)

As a game its like a 50 ish... its just not FUN as in the way a game should be, its 80% percent simulator, 20% video game, the events are HARD as hell and the whole experience thing keeps people from getting the cars they want, most people don't have the time and patience to endure a 9+ hour race... There should be some need for speed in Gran Turismo.... you should have fun playing the game not dreading it...

The McLaren F1 that did 240+ mph had a de-limited engine. Don't quite know if the F1 with the rear wing will even hit the standard 230 mph top speed of the regular car, though.

(the inability to change wheels has made most standards all but irrelevant to me).

Haven't play GT4 in forever, but I think wheels could be changed in it.

Since we all know many of the standard cars were pulled from GT4, why on earth didnt they just pull the GT4 wheels as well for the standard cars?

at the beggining of play 75. now when I can do whatever I want buy what i want and when I disscovered all features 90 for sure. 10 points missing for gliches/ shadows/ and some features GT had in older series and now are gone, Some online features are missing it takes away another 5 points.. Im sure after a half a year this GT will not be what we play now.. and I would give it after all updates 98 for sure!

points are based on this generation games. (after lets say 10 years I would give it about 50 points)

@ day-1 honestly 50/100, i was disappointed
Now after almost 2 months.... about 85, a lot of things that previous GT's had are missing and way too many bugs/mistakes.

71

The premium cars and most sceneries are beautiful, but for the life of me, I can't figure out what in the hell they were thinking when it comes to certain parts of the game.

For instance, perhaps the most well known car in the world and definitely the fastest production car, the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport is non-existent. How is that possible??? What equally boggles my mind is the fact that its lesser counterpart, the regular Bugatti Veyron is a standard car, not a premium. I find it repulsive that they messed up on those two cars in what is supposed to be the most ultimate driving simulator ever.

As an American, I find it pretty ridiculous that they left out the SSC Ultimate Aero...you know, only the second fastest car in the world... I'm also disappointed that they don't have the twin turbo version of the Saleen S7, and the fact that the regular S7 is a standard car.

And finally, with the addition of the Top Gear Test Track, one would think that the Gumpert Apollo might be in the game...sadly, it's not.

There's plenty of other things that disappoint me about this game, but for now, I'll stick with the above.

I don't really understand why so many people rate this game higher after playing it for a while.

I found it okay in the beginning because it was shiny and new, but it steadily declined in my view with finishing everything I deem acceptable in A-Spec, basically giving up B-Spec and having nothing much to do beside seasonal events now.

It says much I'm still playing GT5 regularly which is more than can be said for most games I've played this generation. For whatever faults the game has buying cars, tuning them and racing online never gets tiring.

Right now I'd give it 85, release interesting car and track DLC and that will rise to 90+.

Agreed; the more I play, the more and more I get annoyed at the game as a whole.

70/100.

GT5 is decent. I enjoy it but it's a bit of a mess of a videogame with a lack of focus on what it wants to be. Single player is empty, multiplayer is decent but nothing real special. I don't know.. I'm still holding a love/hate relationship with GT5. Some days I really enjoy it but then the short comings just get to me and I get a little disgusted with it. The empty lifeless single player game needs a drastic overhaul. B-Spec needs to be put out to pasture as the worthless heifer that it is or at least given a complete makeover. The conundrum GT5 can be summed up by the Premium/Standard car debate. Some days GT5 shines with an unsurpassed beauty, other days it's a pixely ugly mess.

Ive been playing this game regularly since release. So much so that I havent even touched other games. Its not perfect by any means but despite its quirks I think the game is a joy to play. Right now I would give it Mid 80's, something like 85-86'ish. The actual driving and racing(including w/ the AI) I find to be great. Things that bring it down, some of the leveling could be refined, needs way more newer cars and tracks, while Im glad the standards are there they need to be customizable like GT4 and you should be able to swap in your B spec driver(s) as part of a your team in A-spec endurance and championship races.
Despite that I see GT getting a lot more of my time over the next few months

I would give it 100 if the thing had been complete when they released it. As it is, the flaws and bugs are just killing me. Right now somewhere about 75 or so. If it weren't so addictive, it would be worse. :) A bad experience for my first Gran Turismo game. Kaz has brought dishonor to his own franchise.

I imagine the phrase 'If we miss Christmas, we're going to have to close our doors' being tossed around a lot in the PD Boardroom.

95 and heres why....

Faults and all I find my self playing it and on it all the time. I love finding cars in the UCD, I love taking pictures, I love racing people online, the victory feeling of playing seasonal events and winning by a tiny margin and getting a big reward. Theres so much to enjoy about the game, and the parts that are done right are so right, I just feel very comfortable in it.

I would give it 100 but the lame almost tacked on rally element pisses me off. I really enjoy rally and this game leaves me tremendously wanting.

100 simply because I play it every.day since day 1.
Game it's not perfect by any means. It's.got lots of flaws but come on a year of playing. And I am the guy who buys every month new game.

So it's got to be 100

I agree about the playing part. How many games do I play after a year? Only a select few.

A hundred does mean perfect though doesn't it.

I can see what he means. Myself, I've been plugging Sony and the GT series from the get-go. Sure, there are a few issues and things as he mentioned, but some of us don't really care... I guess. Are there certain things this game/series is missing? Maybe a few. But to be honest, this is really the only continual series I have invested in over the years. Even more so nowadays with DLC packs and the like. I would have to rate it 100 as well, on the basis that I have played every edition (console) to the max and have had a ball of it every single moment.

No game will be what we consider perfect, if they were we wouldn't buy anything else, would we? Nor would new games be made... if it's perfect, no need to improve on it right? :sly:

As it was just said. Perfection is not achievable. But still games worth playing so extensively deserve great score.

99.

I have played almost every day since it came out. Very few games can keep me playing for more than a month. As pointed out, perfection is impossible, so 99.

How is the online community? Are there still a lot of racers at all times during the day and night? Do a lot of Japanese people play?

This is still a tough question.

There are things that still puzzle and annoy me, like the XP system and the whole paint chip thing, making painting your car a crazy expensive prospect. The whole 17 Race Moddable cars with rather limp liveries, and others. I know a lot of people are still grumpy that there aren't Leaderboards and other reasonable stat tracking tools, and the inability to delete single entries in our Time Trial boards, which we can do in GT4. The improvements in Arcade Mode which haven't made it over to A-Spec Mode yet, and the graphic issues that are still there. There are quite a few shortcomings in GT5 yet.

At the same time, the wealth of cars is insane. The game is gorgeous. Replays are spectacular movie-like delights, giving us years of Photo Mode possibilities. All you need to do is a race on the Nurburgring with weather and time of day transitions to take your breath away, as well as all your misgivings. Even watching fireworks is awesome for a while.

There has never been a game quite as incredible as the latest Gran Turismo, and I doubt there ever will.

If I had to pick a number right now, 91 for me. GT6 will undoubtedly be better in many ways.
