I recently purchased GT5:P. I will be getting a PS3 soon. (looking for a 60GB model) and I want to buy a racing wheel? So what's the best one to get?

Logitech G25 or Logitech Driving Force GT. I prefer the GT and it's a lot cheaper, but the G25 has better pedals.

I thought the Gt was the top of the line wheel

The GT is what I am getting for Christmas. The 25 is probably better, but for the price, the GT is incredible and does the job very well. You won't be let down.

Okay I guess I need to start pricing the GT.

GT is the latest Logitech wheel which is in the Driving force class of wheels, it is a quality wheel but G25 is the top of the line in Logitech.

Depends on what you are willing to pay and what you are after, if you don't care about the 6 speed gated shifter, clutch and stiffer stainless steels pedals then the DFGT is probably better value for money and it comes with real time adjustment dial on the wheel.

I am just suprised how cheap the DFGT is compared to how much I paid for the DFP back in GT4P days.

Logitech G25 is the ultimate wheel to get. It comes with everything including a traditional manual(w/clutch) and paddle shifters. The dual motor force feedback is the best part.

Go with the GT DFP wheel, G25 is way better, but GT wheel will save you some money.

There is a huge rumor that there will be a GT-25 wheel with the release of GT5 full game. So get GT wheel, so that if GT-25 will come out you will but the 25 then. It will save you money.

The GT-25 rumour was already proved fake. I saw the pictures and its a G25 with a 't' in the name.

Why is it fake? Just because it was a "fake" picture, does not mean Logitech and GT is working on it.

They only created the Fake Pic for the articles.

I bet Logitech will create one, because GT series really push their sales up!

They were real pictures and they were exactly like the
G25. I agree that they will make a new wheel but the GT-25 was fake.

GT-25, they never wrote in first place to be real, it was only predictions ;)
Most articles wrote that "they" think the new GT wheel with FULL GT5 release will be based on G25 wheel, with three pedals and H shifter.

Also check out the Fanatec 911 wheel. It's supposed to be a really good wheel from what I hear. The G25 is also top notch and quite popular.

I doubt it, PD already made the new official GT wheel like they did with the DFP with GT4P. GT25 I have heard since the G25 came out, load of fluff.

I am not saying that a new G25 line of wheel wont come, but I don't think it will be a official Gran Turimso wheel, not for GT5 anyway.

Well after looking around the G25 is definitely better but I don't know if I can justify the price. So I'll probably get the GT

I've got a DFGT and it's a really good wheel. A lot cheaper than a G25 and I still like it a lot.

ive got a g25, i must admit it was quiet daunting paying 150pounds for it, but once using it, i must say its worth every penny . the real leather feel leaves you feeling you're driving for real not to mention clutching in and out. hope this helps
auzzam.

Get the G25 as it has metal pedals, the GT pedals are plastic and horrible.

G25, worth every bit the £160 I paid for it, and coupled to the playseat which cost me £250 it is still worth the money.

I bought a DFP as a first wheel, but now after a half a year I'm itching to buy a G25!! DFP is a good wheel as well.... but now im curious as too how a G25 is... :)

I was a very long time DFP user, I switched to G25 purely because I heard GT5P will support clutch, never looked back, DFP was and still is a great wheel but the slow turning speed and noise is a pain at times.

I have the g25 and I would not recommend it if you only intend to use it for gt5p, as the extra features are of no use in this game. I never use the gate shifter anymore in gt5p, it is not realistic. 👍

Like eight6er stated, If you will really only be playing GT5P then go for the DFGT. If you like various driving games and also have a computer then you may want to consider the G25. I just upgraded from the DFGT to the G25 and its definetely worth the money, but I primarily prefer driving games over any other genre. When transitioning from the controller to any wheel give yourself time to get used to it. Although I am very comfortable with the DFGT, I am having to "Re-train" myself on the G25. The Button layouts are different, the pedal tensions are different and finally I have a clutch and six speed to throw in the mix. I tried the G25 with GT5P finally this week (been playing MC:LA) and it was amazing. Will be awhile before I get back online with GT5P unless I use the paddle shifters on the G25. I was having too many driving issues :trouble:.

Logitech G25 is the best right now. The Fanatec 911 GT3 RS Wheel also looks like a very good and I hear is a bit better then the G25 because if uses belts and not gears and also has vibration motors which the G25 doesnt. Fanatec are also coming out with some better pedals that are supposed to be very good we will have to wait and see.

So if you want somthing right now that is tried-and-true get the G25 its the best wheel I have ever used. If you are willing to wait until spring check out the Fanatec 911 GT3 RS wheel with sport pedals, It looks like that G25 might have a rival.

Even the GT is one of the best wheels out there for the price.
It will add tons of FUN and Realism to you're sim GT5P. Have fun!

Thanks for informing me of the GT3 RS varaint of the Fanatec 911 wheel. 👍 I will definately be ordering one as soon as they hit the shelfs...what a BEAUTIFUL wheel and pedal combo. That will work out great because the 6-axis championship will probably be coming to a close around the time the GT3 wheel is on sale to public.

I don't understand the point in having such nice pedals, but no shifter, and the other model I saw had a 6 speed shifter but no clutch. I personaly don't know of anyone who uses paddle shift with a clutch pedal.

Please read below...👍

December 4, 2008 "There must be plenty of aspiring Porsche drivers out there without the finances to afford the real thing because Fanatec has announced another addition to its line of Porsche licensed steering wheels for PC and PS3 gamers. The Porsche 911 GT3 RS Racing Wheel for PC and PS3 is crafted from genuine Alcantara leather, the same material that is used in real Porsches, and features an adjustable Force Feedback Drive with a Mabuchi 550 Series motor and a smooth belt drive. The wheel includes fourteen buttons on the wheel rim, a three-step adjustable sensitivity level, and two additional vibration motors in the wheel to keep customization junkies happy.

Stainless Stainless steel big paddle shifters (the ones behind the wheel) can be upgraded with optional sequential or 6+1 speed shifters, while the Clubsport pedals are made of CNC machined aluminum and feature a pressure sensitive “load cell” sensor for the brake, which Fanatec says adds to the realism.

Also sure to add that little bit of extra realism is the “world’s first” placement of a vibration motor on the brake pedal and the contactless high precision sensors for the adjustable clutch and gas pedals. For true Porsche tragics, Fanatec also offers a line of accessories including the Clubsport Table Clamp, and the RennSport Cockpit.

The Porsche 911 GT3 RS Racing Wheel can now be pre-ordered for USD$289.95 and is expected to ship February 15, 2009."

Optional equipment which can be purchased separately:
Porsche Wheel shifter set with 6+1 Speed gear stick and sequential gear stick 49.95 Euro

The GT3 WHEEL is available in two ways.
1) The main wheel only with an adapter to be used with G25 Pedals and Shifter 169.9 Euro
2) As a Club Sport Package including the new Pedals Shown 289.95 Euro

* (The shifter is still an extra with this package)
* (The Clubsport pedals on their own if not bought in the "Clubsport" package is 199.95 Euro

Regards speculation on the wheel or its quality dont get overhyped yet guys.
Yes it's a beauty of a wheel with the real leather finish but looking at the Comparison Chart the wheel features much of the same spec as the other wheels including the same motors and belt driven mechanics. So dont go expecting this wheel to be much different that the others.

If anything the "Porsche 911 Turbo S wheel - Clubsport Edition" is the most complete product and features much of the same spec (less the new leather wheel trimming)
However its benifits are its wireless and being PC , X360 and PS3 compatible. But its problem is its price 459.95 Euro.

Major problem with the G25 and even this new GT3 wheel is with them not being X360 compatible. Therefore it kinda sucks if you own both consoles and a PC as it just isnt feasible to attach different wheels to what many of us have in racing frames or cockpits.

X360 having no support for G25 put me off X360 racing games altogether in fact as once getting used to G25 theirs no going back to the X360 wheel or Pads..

The clubsport pedals though are a huge improvment over the plastic junk offered with the regular 911 wheel.
