Thanks for informing me of the GT3 RS varaint of the Fanatec 911 wheel. 👍 I will definately be ordering one as soon as they hit the shelfs...what a BEAUTIFUL wheel and pedal combo. That will work out great because the 6-axis championship will probably be coming to a close around the time the GT3 wheel is on sale to public.

That looks great, pedals look like custom made.. I can't wait for reviews. I might get it!

Ok, I can see clearly now. I guess I saw the picture after reading a not very clear post on fanatec wheels and came to the wrong conclusions. It looks like fanatec has all the bases covered.

I was a very long time DFP user, I switched to G25 purely because I heard GT5P will support clutch, never looked back, DFP was and still is a great wheel but the slow turning speed and noise is a pain at times.

oh, man, i have a DFP and I find it to be a decent wheel. I hope to get a G25 someday!

Now we just need a Porsche GT2/GT3 to go with it :sly: I would be in heaven. :)

HAHA 👍

As well I read website, says the BRAKE PEDAL is FORCE FEEDBACK works for ABS and LOCK ON!!! WOOT.. BUT it states it's for the games that support this feature.
Also the wheel can be 900, 360, custom, etc degrees, So it's good to swich from 900 to 360 if using F1 car, etc :)

If it receives good reviews, gets a good shifter, and BRAKE FEEDBACK works with GT5 full game, I will get it! (even if Brake feedback wont work with GT5)
G25 is Great wheel, bets one out there , but my is aging, Shifter is getting bit loose, etc, so would be good to have a fresh one.

The pedals do look great, if anything maybe this is just too serious for GT5
Which tbh would be my main racing game as i dont bother much with PC.

Interesting Point:
Their is meant to be 14 buttons on that wheel (assuming the shifters are 2)
Some will be for PC functions (adjusting FFB strength PC) and (Preset buttons)

Although Im concerned with the lack of a D PAD for game menus on PS3?

EDIT: HOLD ON (9 10 11 12 I think are D-PAD just under the wheel)

Still with 12 buttons available thats the same the G25 gearstick uses so everything should be programmable in GT5.

The beauty is their all on the wheel

* Are there any owners of the other Porsche wheels, that can add comments curious how those work in GT5P?

Nothing is too serious for a great sim as Gran Tuismo.
Precision, everything or nothing.

That Fanatec GT3 RS wheel is definetely sweet. I had my wife order me the G25 for Christmas, later that day was when I saw a posting for the new GT3 RS wheel. I will stick with the G25 because if I ask for another new wheel, I will give a whole new meaning to seat of the pants driving!

Its too bad that you cant adjust the steering degrees 200-900 in gt5p.....i really hopes this comes with gt5..also the physics engine demands too much steering from side to side...it should be easier to control drifts with the steering wheel, it is in real life...this is actually easier with a controller

I have the g25 and love it

You see more and more people drooling over the Fanatec Porsche wheels, but I think Logitech is where its at for Gran Turismo games.

I have a Logitech G25 and Playseat Evolution and I couldn't be happier. It's a great setup for GT5P.

On to teh pics yo..

just got my first wheel today, the DFGT. If you don't to spend loads of money or you are getting a wheel just for GT5, get the DFGT. I got it for christmas and am very happy with it, the shifter if good, the pedals are good and the whole wheel is of very good build quality.

Set the steering to MAX in the PP menu, makes catching drifts much easier

Im relatively happy still with my Playseat and G25 although...
My future vision is this:

Fanatec GT3 Wheel (smoother non cog wheel but with belt drive and nicer / better pedals)
GT5 via 3 x 22" 1080p monitors (using 3x PS3 assuming GT5 will support it)
Custom made /self design race cockpit with proper real racing seat that will make a Playseat look like a "fischer price" toy

Playseat is okay but it creaks and is nowhere near as comfortable as a proper racing seat.

Wich menu do you mean Mr Latte?

Sorry im talking within the Online events that allow PP tunning.

Changing the steering lock here can improve or ensure its easier to control drifts with a higher setting (cars vary but upto 50 i believe is possible)

You can shift slightly faster with clutch, thats why. But as i said its minimal gain..

Has this really been proven, particulary with people testing the theory in TT.
Sorry for the continued questioning but when you say slightly, well slightly is what exactly .2.4.6 on a lap? Depending on the track and amount of changes of course.

If this is the case then what your saying is that PD are giving G25 users an advantage not only over Pad users which a wheel brings anyways by the nature of steering precision but also the Official Licensced GT Wheel as that doesnt have a clutch.

Another vote for the g25 here.

If you can afford it, get it. $250CDN isn't that expensive for the experience you'll get.

Nice set up. My wife won't let set up like that.

Well you are faster on the upshift with the clutch........but you get killed in the downshift.

For some reason in GT5p if you use the sequential shifter you have a shift delay on the upshift, And if you use the paddles you have a shift delay on the downshift (F1 car as exp.)

Both the Porsche and G25 wheels are really nice, but why do they not put the brake pedal a couple of inches ahead of the throttle. Have you ever driven a good manual car where the brake, throttle, and clutch are all in-line with each other? I know the USSR made a car where the throttle was ahead of the brake pedal (Top Gear), so do commies design these wheels? I had mount the pedals of my G25 on a wooden board so I could offset the brake and throttle. It works, but looks nasty as hell.

BTW check out this beauty.

$179 with shipping, but well worth it my opinion.

Like everyone else said the G25 is worth every penny...if you have money to spend then get it. Leather and metal, it's the best quality.

Hi,

You can see another wheel stand on the fanatec.com web site. It seams more strong than the upper one... with the same price.

I have ordered a 911 GT3 Wheel with alluminium pedals... I can't wait for try it... I made a huge investigation about the best wheel for the PS3... well it's impossible to know the best one, you always get different opinions...

But after a big search I decided to buy the fanatex wheel, it seams more realistic, more simulator...

Just one more opinion..

Regards,
masas
