What's the current Gr3/4 meta?

I only ask because I'm testing a mixed class series soon and could use the info on how to keep them balanced without being able to use BoP. Why are some cars so OP/UP with or without tuning?

In sport mode EMEA region it's the Porsche for Gr.3 and the Mazda for Gr.4 mainly, some tracks are different but these are seen a lot.

I feel that the Gr.3 is pretty balanced. Depending on track, but still varied.
The 911 is my weapon of choice, but there’s always some Lexus, Corvettes, Lancers doing a decent job.
I’m starting to care more about my preferences in the handling than the META.

Edit:
I still default to META when in ovals!

I've started doing that. It seems like the META cars tend do me MR which I personally don't like. I prefer the feeling of the FR cars.

Depends on the track. Gr.3 includes 911, RC F, Corvette, FT-1 (at Blue Moon at least), R.S.01, and probably more. Gr. 4 includes 86 (at Willow Springs at least), Megane, Veyron (at Monza and I think Dragon Trail), Huracan, TT Cup, Atenza, and maaaybe the GT-R, and I'm sure I missed some good ones.

Group 4 is pretty balanced now. Always a good variety except, as others have said, some track-specific METAs

It is quit balance right now. Meta car may dominates the leader board. Variety of cars did appear in the races imo. Though we encountered some track-specific meta. e.g. Veryon on Monza and Peugeot VGT on Tokyo recently.

Most Effective Tactic Available - i.e picking the Megane group 4 because it is way overpowered, despite being horrible to drive.
Thanks Robben... you're an angel.. but now another question:

WTF means Most Effective Tactic Available?!?!?!?!? The best performing car?!?!?!?!?

Yep.

The problem is there's an army of people that are not good or consistent enough to actually make the META work. So, in my opinion, there's an army of people thinking they are only able to play because they choose the "best car", when in fact they could achieve the same results in any car.

I mean... I also do this. lol

Yeah, so it is basically picking the easy option... i.e best tactic for winning is to pick the car that goes fastest on a given track, despite other cars being competitive. For example, you may see a couple of 458 group 3 on a leaderboard, but the 911 is easier to drive so just pick that.

Right... Got it!

i agree,, it's not about what's the best performing car... it' s all about the car you are able to drive faster!
thet's valid for pure lap time..

Another movie is about a complete race, because there is for that the added difficulty of managing fuel (for example one of the car easiest to drive is BMW M4 but now it's unusable cause it burns too much fuel during a race)

Indeed. However, actually, the BMW is now balanced. Before it was META because it didn't burn enough fuel for the other cars to compete!

It was META only because of the fuel consuption but not because it was OP. The power and weight nerf were not necessary imho :odd:
I'm not sure... @Alfabob46 got to within a few tenths of your time in his M4 last night, so I think power and weight adjustment was ok.

here's another aerospace engineer...
Please, teacher Robben, could u explain me (wtf) OP (optimal?) and imho (?) mean?
:D:banghead:

Why ask Google when we are here :)

I think if you put 'what does OP stand for' in Google you wouldn't get the "correct" answer for the context Nuschel is using anyway
Earth is a better place with persons like teacher Robben...
:lol::bowdown:
