I'm FROM Sheffield. I live in Kent. :D

Sheffield is Donington Park, and only an hour or so from Silverstone. Lived next to Hethel (Lotus test ground) and thus Snetterton for a few years too.

Um...

Oh yeah, Theres Oxford Speedway. About an hour away...Good for ameturs. Best demolition derby for 100 miles. :D

The more "professional" raceway is New Hampshire International speedway. Some Nascar races are held there.

My former shop teachers son had some kind of Porsche race there. With a 1985 911. :D

My local track is I35 speedway in Mason City. It is a dirt track that runs crusers, hobby stocks, modifieds, and sprinters.....

All the bloody same, you northeners :P. Right hill billy country up there....or is that wales ;) :D .
Anywayz you going to see anything at Brands next year , like BTCC, SCV8 or Brit GT's???

Roo: I've heard of Fleet, no idea where it is  . I haven't been down to the festival in years. Any good this year?

Fleet is in Hampshire. Not that far from Thruxton then?

Brands is an absolute bastard to get to - hemmed in by the M25 and M2. Might go back to Snetterton though - great view on Rivett's.

I can't remember which one Snetterton is again. Isn't it the converted airfield with a huge back straight  ? Always looked a bit flat and dull for my liking. But with Brands, t's got a kind of stadium like feel to it, especially with the indy circuit. Though yea it's a bit of a chore to get there. Especially when you come off at the final junction for it.:irked:

Live in Chicago, and Road America in Wisconsin is about 4 hours. Duno if they have amateur racing or track days, though... I hope they do:D I know they offer the Skp Barber Racing School.

Here in STL we have Gateway International Raceway(in East St. Louis)...they have amature racing on Tuesdays I think, $15 and you can run your car on the drag strip...my bro use to go there all the time, I haven't gone yet, though I'd like to just to know what the stock 323 runs.
The racetrack also holds NASCAR races(not a NASCAR fan at all) and F1/Cart races I think. I donno what else they do.
Also there's like 2 smaller race tracks around STL.

No road courses. :(

They dont do F1 there but they do the indy racing there.

I live near adelaide when the street's are closed off and turned into a race track and sorta mallala thats about 1 hr or so out of adelaide.

Ive got a few, that are around Brisbane-

Lakeside - I loved this place, now its just sitting left to rot, Damn council!!! I spent many days in the Corprate Box there!!! They used to race the ATCC there! Motorbikes were great too. Its about 10kms from my house, and on windy days, you could hear the cars racing...

Queensland Raceway - Ive been here three times. Its over the other side of Brisbane, but its worth the drive. I saw drifting, the Winternationals, and Jamboree 13. Oh, theres a drag strip there too, Willowbank!!

millencolin may also have been to Queensland Raceway, so he can tell you something about it!

Heres a picture of Lakeside - the quality is crap, but you get the idea..

A fairly small one...cant remember exact specs. It very old though. I think the gov't is thinking of leveling it and making a mall there, ciz there no mall for like an hour..LOL.

The nearest track to me is Knockhill. It's the worst thing about living this far north. Still, it's a pretty mental place to go to, just a ribbon of tarmac dropped on the side of a hill.

The Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, wich is, oh, 10 minutes from my house. in the last CART race of the year I could hear the engines like they were right outside, in the front of my house. that was cool :D

I'm not sure. Are there any real tracks around LA? (I.E. Not ovals, ones with right turns...)

But, as far as I know, Irwindale is the local course. It's not much of a course, just an oval, but with some rearranging of the track, it hosts everything from Drift Day to Drift Showoff, to D1. So, at least it's goot to be near it if you're a drifting fan. Of course, near is all relative, it's still an hour or so away.

Why go for drifting when you can go for migets or the king taco cars and turkey night is awsome. Do you have somthing against oval tracks? Also its only ten minutes or less away for me. Oh yeah and dont forget the drag strip they have, even though its not much of a drag strip.
