nissan have just brought out the new 350z,what do you guys think of it,personally i cant wait the couple of years for the supercharged version 400bhp
id have 1 but then i do drive a z32

The Z is a nice car. I really want to test drive one but I haven't had time to get to a Nissan dealer.

You can only test drive them at dealers if you're lucky! Most are pre-ordered and don't stay at the dealer! I got to test drive one based purely on chance; a fellow had ordered one and it had come in the wrong colour so they left it on the lot for test drives.

If I had that kind of money I would be really stretched between the 350Z and S2000. But I would never buy a new car anyways, so assuming the 350Z has worse re-sale value than the Honda S2000, I would likely end up with a 350Z in a few years.

I wasn't impressed when I first saw pictures of it, but it looks much better in person, especially from the drivers seat! I didn't get to actually drive it though, I just made 'vroom-vroom' sounds while I flicked thru the gears. Maybe that's why the salesguy wouldn't give me keys...

I saw the 350Z @ Motor Trend International Auto Show here in Vegas. I say, theres a lot of cheapo plastics on the interior, plus the luggage space is somewhat useless, in fact the S2000 (my favorite roadster) is way better than the Z in terms of luggage space. Of all of the Nissan FM (front-midship platform) cars [Nissan Altima, Nissan Murano, Infiniti G35-series, the Z, the next gen Maxima], I prefer the Infiniti G35 Sport Coupe (which is now my favorite luxury coupe aside the M3), it has a usable trunk space plus an upscale interior, even though theres a 7 hp deficit against the Z.

They went back to the look of the 240Z, but kept the fat front fenders from the 300ZX.

i like the S2000 way better then the 350z, but the 350z is a nice solid car.

I definitely agree, but you have to grade each car upon its own merits. The S2000 is the refined, "ultimate compact sports car", while the 350Z is much more brutish, but more effective all around. I guess it comes down to this, however, 9000 RPM's screaming under the hood, or brutal subtlety. your choice

I like the Z more than the s2000. But for that much, I could have a G35 coupe, which looks better, has 2 extra seats, and doesnt sacrifice a lot of performance.

What the living crap? Why in the world did you go all the way back 1 year to revive this thread? I dont get noobz sometimes....

Does it matter? Its a 350Z thread, and he posted about 350Zs, instead of posting a new thread. He actually used the search button. Seems fine to me.

I've been able to test drive a brand new one here in New Zealand.
The overall handling is pretty good. I wouldn't say outstanding but given the width and lenght of the car it suits it. I feel the springs are wrong for the car though. Normal driving they are fine. The progessive nature of them allows a fairly comfortable ride but when pushed they show the weakness as the car will wallow a bit. Also you lose good feel of the road.

Power is less than impressive. Given what I currently own and drive you can't compare it to that but honestly it is nothing to write home about. It is very peaky for an N/A engine while delivering good torque upper low to low mid range it noses over quickly.

Fit and feel isn't my thing. I am not found of the driving position nor am I fond of the instramentation layout. I would have thought Nissan would have learnt these errors in the Maxima, Z series, Silvia and Skylines. Especially of what works and what doesn't.

The seats are terrible! While firm they fail to give good latteral support like a sports car should. Nissan really should have continued the GTR style front seats for ultimate latteral support especially for the upper body and neck.

Over priced and over rated. I knocked it back base on the price or it would have gotten a 7 which I would consider average for a sports car.

Overall impression?
On a scale of 1-10 = 6

the Z is a nice car, but i wouldnt buy it because the plastic stuff inside??? still a nice car.. rather have the G35 sports coupe... Can some1 say Skyline????
