When do you unlock top gear test track too test/race on?

As the title says. I'm just wondering because its one of my favourite tracks however I can't test/race on it so I'm wondering how its unlocked.

so in theory the part about jimbob your friend could borrow your driver to race against which means he could remote turn on my ps3?

It is my understanding that once you beat the special event specific to that track, it will be available for use in arcade/practice mode.

I have now unlocked the track for use in Arcade and Practice. You simply need to beat any one of the three Top Gear special events with a Gold Medal. The Beginners event is obviously the easiest, and is the one that I completed first.

I won the gold with the lotus and i still cant use it, only got a bronze with the camper vans though, is this why?

Hmm, perhaps. I definitely got gold on the campers. I was under the impression from the message that came up unlocking the track that you could beat any of them - perhaps I'm wrong.

It's pretty tough, you need to be aggressive but wary of the boundaries of the track so you don't get disqualified. I think I managed to get in to first place just before the second time round the hammerhead. Second place will slip stream you through Bacharach but you can block him off easily.

The main thing with the Samba is to preserve momentum and reduce drag. Take the smoothest possible line through the corners so you don't have to reduce speed and take every possible opportunity to slipstream behind the bus in front of you.

Best i could do on the camper vans was 6ths place. The lotus handles like crap for me and slides all over the place. Might take a while for me to get he gold. I've unlocked the Nurburgring.

I got gold tonight....basically just go for it,you only need to tap the brakes,remember to slipstream and dont lift off the gas after hammer head until you get to gambon...it was easier than gold with the lotus though!

out brake them into the left hander(staying tight with the grass verge on your right) then you should be on the inside for the right hander,believe me i'm no expert its just practice!

Damn it. this race is ridiculous. Those idiots in the other vans just stall you , break WAY to hard in the corners while driving next to each other with 3 vans. And when you try to overtake them , they just smash you in the rear and spin of the track. And why can they hit the pylons and we can't ? Doesn't make any sense. I manage to keep getting 2nd but at the last corner , I just cant overtake the first guy because he just blocks it. So annoying.

I've read somewhere the race gets easier when you have a higher lvl. I'm currently lvl. 5. Any idea if this is true of false ?

man Im glad im not the only one having trouble, I thought I was sucking majorly because I could only get 2nd after trying like 8 times. Cant get past that first guy, I had it once but one of the busses spun me on the straight after the follow through.

For those of you that have beat it I've seen to have the best luck so far with being no farther back than 7th starting the 2nd lap, is that what you all have found?

From what Ive found best passing is the hamerhead, that first turn after the follow through, and whichever turn they are calling it, the hard right hander before the hammerhead, is that what yall have found also?

Hoo-raah, finally got gold in the campervan, took many attempts, you have to mix aggressive driving with cautious driving all at the same time, especially when the AI start to draft you, they end up putting you into a spin when you turn if your not careful.

How do you unlock the nurbugring, all ive been looking forward to do is buy a ferrari 458 italia and race round the nurbugring in day/night to tht soundtrack in the gt5 458 italia ad.

Same here. The lotus has way too much lift-off-oversteer imho. I altso drive with a G25 and tried like 15 times and always end up spinning out of control. This is the only car/track combo that rides this terrible. Oh, and the Lamborghini race at Grand Tour Special on Toscana. Same story.

I hate the first challenge... I'm telling you if i ever see a samba bus i will destroy it. After hours and hours i can't get first place. So frustrating.
Everytime i think this is it, some other driver rams me from behind and i get in a spin.
I just feel like screaming.
