...I just have to wear shoes. I just can't stand the feel of the peddles on the soles of my feet! So when I put my shoes on, my wife is never sure if I am going out or going to play GT4  :)

HaHa!
Same with me!
I drove My VW Golf without shoes for the first time last week and nearly stalled it coming off a few sets of lights.
The pedals felt absolutely bizarre!

I play it barefooted. I don't think the shoe's grip is good with the DFP pedals. I'd rather use my feet or use a sock, it enhances my pressure-sensitive response to the DFP. Although I drive with shoes on (unless I'm at the beaches), the DFP pedals feel and response are just not the same as a car...

lol...i also wear shoes for my racing experience..i couldn't do it without them...i keep a set of shoes next to my cockpit..that way, there always rigth next to my seat and they never get dirty from the outside...wouldn't want to get mud all over the carpet

I played barefoot for a long time but my right foot really started bothering me so I tried it with different kinds of footwear and nothing felt as good as being barefoot. Then as summer approached all the stores began displaying the cheap sandals that cost about a dollar. I got a pair with some fairly thick soles, cut off everything attached to the sole and rubber banded it to the accelerator. It works OK. The feel of the pedal is there and its's much softer on my foot. Has a better grip too.

I have to wear socks. There's so little resistance to foot movement that I can't feel it well enough with shoes on; and barefoot my skin has too much grip and it's hard to feather it. But socks > barefoot > shoes for me.

i would deffineterly say that the williams weel is nicer and it has a smotther feel to it but the only down side is the shifter is a different way to normal (if push up it shifts up and vicverca with down) thats i find realy annoying but after a quick read of the old instruction book if was sorted

I'm looking to get some proper racing shoes to use with my wheel once I pay r34jse back for the money he lent me to get my wheel hehe. I find it much more comfortable using gloves when I drive as well. It adds an extra bit of coolness to the whole experience.

I wear shoes and socks, but, I find I just cant drive wearing anything else...Totally, Totally, Nuuuuude. 👍

I once tried driving barefoot, but I began to get the makings of a blister on the sole of my braking foot.

I will admit that driving in socks gives some fine feed-back from the peddles, but it just kinda tickles the bottoms of my feet too much. I guess I just have softy's feet ;)

I always wear Sock, if i'm not going out or anything, just barefoot... but with shoes? no thank

lol, I wore some old thin worn out shoes with my wheel last night (gloves too of course) and after about 10 laps I smashed my lap time for this week's wrs event.

My secret to fast laps/crappy times? Driving barefooted. I mean, if I come across a GT4 competition at a mall or something, I'll be the guy being asked to leave for stinking up the place cause I really can't drive GT4 with shoes & socks on.

No my feet don't stink, seriously

The pedals on the DFP are just too light to wear shoes, and I'm already wearing my Puma driving shoes (which I wear in RL). Plus I left-foot brake with the DFP so there's no friction, which means I never get blisters. No socks needed either because they make me slip off the pedals.
