Apologies if this has been raised already but I searched and cant see it.

After the academy deadline date on 24.01.10 will the TT still be playable? I would quite like to keep practicing

I think it is still playable but it isn't available for download. I could be wrong though; that's what i remember reading.

on the XMB, go to gt academy and press triangle. Press information. it says it expires on 1/25/10. So i think the answer is no.

I know it expires i.e. you cannot qualify your time on the academy leaderboard but what im asking is if the demo will still be playable i.e. without leaderboards and online scores etc

That expiration date is specifically for playability of the content. You won't be able to run the demo at all after that date.

Only time will tell. I'm pretty sure it will not be playable after the expirey date. You already have lots of time to master the cars and the track.

Considering the full version hits the shelves in Japan a month after it expires (hopefully) I don't think it's a big deal.

Not what I read:

"You’ll have plenty of time to study Gran Turismo 5 and go for your best possible time, because the Gran Turismo 5 Time Trial Challenge will run through 5PM PST on January 25, 2010. After January 25 you won’t be able to download the game from PSN, but those who already have it will be able to continue to play it past the contest end date. Click here for official rules for the US."

I can't find the exact link anymore, but I posted that last week and it was on the PS blog. No worries my friends :)

Read again. Nowhere does it state how long you can play it though. The demo says it expires on 2/25.

/Hopes someone comes up with a hack to remove the expiration :sly:

If it expires in February, they must give us a final gameplay demo before release otherwise they're just torturing us. The chances are we won't get it until May/June (maybe even later) outside Japan.

Im gonna need longer than that if im to get my time down closer to the times being posted in the UK. Alot of you guys are seriously quick. 1:38:9xx is the fastest I can pull together so far so about 3 secs of the lead.

(PS - Im not under the illusion that I will actually get to 1:35:xxx but I would like to at least be better than I am now when the full game drops)

How long are you really going to want to continue lapping the same track in the same 2 cars though? Surely a couple of months is more than enough to get bored of that.

I think you could be right. I have not played it at all in the last 24hrs as I have bacame a little frustrated at not being able to drop my time
