I've never been drunk.
I hate whiskey since I downed a 5th of glass in one gulp, my throat tasted like 'burning'.![]()

i am sipping an ice cold beer right now actually..
Having a little alcohol of certain types is good for you, I'm in no way saying go and have a drink because it's good that you don't, and although I am as far away from being a drunk as possible for a person that drinks, for somone who doesn't drink to start drinking, that could change very quickly.Originally posted by Talentless
Because I do not believe its benefits (medical) outweigh its dangers; I am obsessive compulsive; I have enough trouble concentrating due to health problems, I do not need or desire to compound the previous reason in this list by risking becoming a drunk; I do not want that kind of escapism. I know myself and therefore do not drink.

I see so your one of those vigilant people who knows exactly how healthy they are and are honoured by couch potatoes as a super-human who avoids all temptation and has a perfect life.
If only I was like you.
I avoid all drugs (except alcohol) and I exercise occasionally but I think it is ok to drink every so often. I'm 15 but I only drink alcohol once every month.

Thank you.
The key is not strength of fighting an addiction, it's having a firm stance against it well before you can develop it. Since I can remember, I have been opposed to drinking.
As a poll here would surely tell, 60-70% of members here in their mid teens see drinking as a milestone in their lives. I'm in the minority.
I dont know, I dont think alcohol is really all that addictive, if you have any kind of willpower at all. But you are definitely right about the stance in regard to addiction in general; the best thing is never to start.Originally posted by Talentless

Drinking was never really a "milestone" for me, probably because my parents were open about it and taught me moderation, etc. My dad bought me beer, and told me I could have a beer any time I felt like it. So it's not really a mystery, and you discover it really isnt all that. I think they were very smart about that aspect of parenting.Originally posted by Talentless
