I find myself always racing in sport mode, usually the 10 lap events. Last night I got into a fun lobby but that was my first time. Where are most you running your races online??

My doctor asked me to reduce the sources of stress, so at the moment I'm doing the custom races (one against one) for pure fun.

Man, I was telling my wife the other night I need to chill. I thought I was gonna have a heart attack because I was in first the last few laps with the second place guy being faster than me. I won but damn I had to take an hour break after that. The stress can be crazy at times but its hard telling myself it just a game...

Sport mode mostly, unless I have friends online and we want to race online, if so lobby.

Really enjoying the one make races at the moment in sport mode. Been having some.cracking races

It is crazy how it feels and the stress you can feel with a close race. Gotta work on those breathing techniques to keep calm and heart rate down!! But I know feeling...but I usually end up touching the grass or dirt and whoop around I go

I usually enjoy the one make, unless it is the samba or something stupid. Then back to the gr3 or 4 races

i'm either in Custom racing, trying to build mileage + daily reward + money grinding 10-20 lap races.
when im not doing that, im in Lobbies looking for nice clean places.

Sport mode for the most part but that also depends on the track selected and I almost always exclusively race Gr3 cars. Today for instance, I probably won't touch it. I hate Panaroma (in addition to ALL reverse track layouts) and there are no Gr3 races. I'm also part of a racing league and there some championships coming up so I'll probably be spending some time in the lobbies now.

most of the time I'm in lobbies of real tracks with bop and fuel/wear. Some days just looking at the sport mode choices makes me shudder.

Used to be Sport Mode race C and FIA races. Recently it’s been Only GR3 FIA events and lobbies.

The current Sport mode races featuring the exaggerated fuel consumption and ridiculous tire wear have completely turned me off of sport mode. I love that PD are trying to implement pit strategy but I think they are going about it all wrong.

Tire wear and fuel consumption should be options that are on or off not adjustable increments. If you want me to have to pit make the race longer and allow me to pick my tire compound. There is no reason to force a pit stop in an 8-10 lap race on Racing Hard tires unless it’s on the Nordschleife where laps are over 6 minutes long.

Thanks for the reply. I do have to disagree on the pits for the 10 laps races. I think that has brought a different element to the game. It would be nice to have an option in the sport races for a 20 or 30 lap event, but not everyone has that kind of time to put into one race. The choice of tire compound I think is a must add even in the 10 lap events. If I am forced to have to pit I think I should be able to choose compound and let us decide if we want grippy, or long lasting. I get what you are saying though. I still have to try the FIA events, but the timing of those events hasn't been favorable. I wish they were later after the kids go to bed. Nothing getting interrupted with a crying kid while running up front.

I see your point and understand why many like this approach but it’s just not my cup tea.

Sport mode needs at least one more race option each day. A longer more realistic race would fit in nicely with the current options.

Yeh PD must see that people currently do sport mode races back to back, so making it 20 laps would be cool.

been having alot of fun in lobby as of late and the odd race here an there in sport

I have been looking at the lobbies but it is hard to find full rooms. And I am not being picky about what to race, but I want to run with more that 1 or 2 racers. How do you look for rooms that are more full?? I have jumped in a few rooms while the race is going on hoping guys will stick around, but it seems most clear out after a race then move on, and I sat in spec mode for no reason. Maybe I am looking at the wrong rooms

I only really race Sport mode if the track and car type suit... otherwise I just mess around with Arcade and the League rubbish

I bought the game, and my wheel only because of hearing about Sport mode. I race exclusively in Sport mode.

As an older guy, who doesn't really "game," racing against the game is just playing a game. Racing against real people is where it is at for me and makes it more than just a game.

Last time I played GT, i did the whole career but in the end the AI cars became predictable and progressing became just a matter of remembering the sequence, like every other game. Nothing wrong with that, it is just not something that interests me any longer.

Next summer I plan to do a track day at Streets of Willow, so assuming I have a few weeks to prepare I may spend some time time trialing Streets in GT and then see how that compares to driving my real car, and see if the sim practice provides any real world benefit.

But aside from that I am a Sport Mode junkie.

I would agree on the that. I the excitement of sport mode is just awesome. What do you run for a car for track days?? I love the feeling of a good battle with someone. Once you get it that you don't have to finish first and just work on drive technique, it can be a lot more fun.

As far as what would transfer from real life to the game is technique. You may not get the same feeling from your wheel to your hands, but your still learning and that can transfer. I have found playing motogp games, has made me a better car racer in GTS. That game really teaches you patience and coasting more than slamming the throttle. Thanks for your input

Got all the GTS PSN Trophies and then my DR and SR to S and now I’m 100% boycotting Sport Mode... Lobbies are the way to go imo. Far less stressful, better community of players and the ability to boot the problem drivers. (Which makes players less likely to be a problem driver)

I have a Cayman GT4, so in Gr.4 I drive a the Cayman exclusively, liveried up to match my car right down to the plate.

Now all I need to do is to get a gear shift for my cockpit and then adjust my gear ratios to match the street version of the GT4 to make the sim as close to real life as possible. Could be an interesting little exercise.
