Nice, but I still think the F1-86 has to be the meanest looking Ferrari F1 of all times...

Full spec sheet..

Wasnt that when they used Turbos?

Isnt this the BMW from one of the GT4 Videos on GTP containing Nurburgring footage? .... I would choose that as a street car.

Not that it is in the game...but I would love to take Gilles Villeneuve Ferrari on the ring:D
S_Gilles_Villeneuve0001.jpg

But conserning the game.....if F1 cars are in there...maybe one of those.

Yess that would be ultra cool:crazy: if PD would put in such an old F1 car or even older F1 cars like the Lotus or Brabham i love to drive them on The Nordschleife 👍 , GPL anyone? :sly: 👍

The m3 GTR, sadly can't be loyal to a Del sol  as it's too slow :grumpy: . or the nissan 240 ,I think, or blubird ,I think, rally cars. Tell me if these cars aren't in the game.

Impreza WRX STI, my favorite car, but the Mercedes SLR is a good choice, if included. Or if they included the Porsche Carrera GT Lambo Murcielago or the Enzo, .

See ya :sly:

im amused by the number of people who think they are going to get into the eights pretty easily.

understand this. in comparison to the pro drivers who can make it there in 8 minutes in a well sorted car, YOU ARE A HACK. walter rohl (porsche test driver) and company have driven the 'ring numerous times and had/ have lengthy race careers behind and ahead of them. if youre some high school kid, some IT guy at your job, or a cart pusher or a nurse or whatever, you really dont have the skills to be a race car driver. which is why you aren't.

im not dissing anybody or trying to rain on anybodies parade. just trying to tell you that if the simulation of the track is as close as they say it is, be prepared to spend a lot of time in front of your tv trying to get below 8 minutes. fortunately it's a game; pushing too fast and going over the edge is not going to introduce you to mr armco. G forces are not going to be acting on you. reaching tire adhesion and suspension limits is only going to make the car react badly. its not hastening your impending introduction to mr g reaper.

do us all a favor and dont go to the real 'ring and try to out do the pros. they are pros and youre not for a reason. i shouldnt have to spell it out for you and tell you you suck.

that said, im probably gonna first go in the fiat 500. a car i can handle and even in real life, wouldnt get me in trouble at the thing.

Funny advice from a Fiat 500 driver :)

Anyhow, real driving skills will not necessarily turn fast times on GT4. It takes a lot of GT experience to do so. Most of the fastest GT drivers have never raced a real car on a real track. Therefore, an experienced GT driver will definitively start getting fast Nürburgring laps times after 20/30 complete laps.

...with which car???
...oh this is clear.....The GT-One, F1 GTR, R390 GT1, Esperante GTR-1,
EXP Speed 8 ´03, Courage ´03 and ´04, R8 ´02, S101 ´02 and and and.......all the other hot LM cars!!!

...and of course the falken(i think it´s one of the fastest cars at NN cuz it´s tested there, it´s made there and it´s driven there so it should be perfect balanced and modificated for this track....)

The first time I drive this circuit (in GT4, not counting the hundreds of laps in PGR2 and GPL) I'll use an un-modded RWD car. Most likely an S2000, or possibly even the mid-engined NSX-R. Just something not too fast, so that you can get a good feel for the circuit and then slowly cut your times down. My objective will be to get below 8 minutes eventually, then with modified cars, 7 minutes, and then into the 6 minute range.
S2000 baby! Especially if GT4 delivers the promised "top down" experience with a driver's seat view and rotatable vision. Hizell yeah!

Oh, one thing about this whole `Ring endevour. All the videos that I've seen of the real thing (which I understand aren't legal to create anymore) have lots of people on the track at the same time. Do you think they'll add in "lap traffic"? That would be sweet.

I'm making a point of using the Volkswagen Beetle 1100 Standard ('49) on the ring.

Mmmm, 30 min per lap.

...yeah that´s the right way to learn a new track of course!!!
...only so u get the right feeling and can try the things u learned with a S2000 to do with a JGTC or DTM car and then go up a level to the Le mans GT Race Cars and then finally to the formular 1 cars(are they included???)!!!!!.....

i know that driving IRL is different than in a game. but IRL the drivers have to memorise which corners are which to ba able to go as fast as they do. which they say takes forvever. just coz its a video game doesnt mean one doesnt have to learn which corners are which.

but even after learning the corners you still have to know which is the line. where you have to avoid bumps. where you dont get good grip on the line. etc etc etc. well, thats in real life. if its as close to RL as we think it is, its not goin to be so easy.

unless you use lmps and so on.

Buuut....I wanna take out the Levin :trouble: , bolt a turbo on there :trouble: with some mild suspension mods and tires, just for the hell of it. If I took a stock one I'd be battling wrinkles on my ass before I comepleted a lap :odd: . The Levin...*Drools on computer desk*

A Volvo, aslong as it isn't the XC 90.

If that fails, the Fiat Panda. Pfff 8 seconds, Panda will do it in 6 minutes 30 secs, well to go down the main straight

The new Ford Mustang !!!!

Otherwise an old Alfa Giulia or some of the Abarth Fiat Cars.

Or the W196 Monoposto from Mercedes, or the BMW 635CSi, or an old Maserati Birdcage, or some of the CanAm Cars like the Porsche´s with over 1000 hp, or......,or,........or..........

Damn !!!!

Gimme that game !!

Sorry but i gotta agree with martinmax - just coz your a top real race driver - dont make ya a good driver on GT , and vice versa ,
and if your braggin that you can handle a fiat 500 , well u wanna keep your braggin to yourself .

I have been driving the Ring on project gotham for ages , and i will bet anyone , within 10 laps of the ring i will be sub 8 mins .
Although its a long course there are few " tricky " parts to negotiate because most of the ring is flat out .this meaning there are about 4-5 areas you have to really remember , the rest is foot to the floor .

if you dont believe me - watch for me on the release day - and ill show ya !!

By the way - i aint even got a driving licence ( although i have driven numerous cars ( including honda civic type R's - lancia delta integrale's - 250bhp escort turbo's ,,, ) on a local circuit and have surprised peeps with my times )and i can ragg the hell outta GT :)

This is not to say that i am michael schumacher / or that i could do it in under 8 mins in real life , but on GT - - - - - - HELL YES !!!!!!!

Without being direspectfull - maybe its coz your not very good on it !!!

THAT REMINDS ME!!! The Shelby GT500 should be in there, the Eleanor version.....whoo *go baby go* no nitrous tho, that'd kill it. But she got some serious muscle under that sexy bonnet of hers. :)

And there's no way you'll be that good on the ring in ten laps. It took me a while READING about the ring, then driving in PGR to memorize the turns. The "names" of the turns. Yes, they have names. The line you take and speed you go in is compltely different. So please, save yourself ten more pages of getting flamed and don't say stuff like that.

Ok well driving in project gotham is nothing like the real ring. It is NOT always flat out, if anything your cars brakes will be it's Godsend. While I respect you for your driving skills in real life, don't say it's all flat out, cuz it's not. I'm just telling you so people don't flame you for "being an idiot" because the physics aren't realistic, and The 'Ring in PGR2 is WAY TOO WIDE, and WAY TOO FAST. Take a look at the vids, you'll see what I mean. And there's no way you'll be that good on the ring in ten laps. It took me a while READING about the ring, then driving in PGR to memorize the turns. I have seen the vids - and yeah your correct in everything you say about PGR2 - however i meant i know the course layout backwards , and no matter how the driving is in both games - the basic track layout will be the same .

Further i never said its all flat out , i said most of it is flat out , which from what i have seen of the ring in footage and games and video's seems pretty much true .

and if anyone wanna flame me , FINE , we will see when we go online :)

I'll probably end up taking the Stratos (surprise, surprise) perhaps with some extra tuning in the engine department, just to haul ass on the monumental straight that's a couple turns before the start/finish line.
I'll also be taking out a Formula car or two, I just wish that one of Jackie's cars was in the game. By 'Jackie' I mean Stewart of course.

After having watched the video with the Falken Skyline there, I was just thinking that setting up the gear ratios on a car when at the Ring is going to be 'fun', even with the plethora of turns, it still has some long stretches here and there.
