Sleek StratosI'll probably end up taking the Stratos (surprise, surprise) perhaps with some extra tuning in the engine department, just to haul ass on the monumental straight that's a couple turns before the start/finish line.
I'll also be taking out a Formula car or two, I just wish that one of Jackie's cars was in the game. By 'Jackie' I mean Stewart of course.

Good Idea !
The Stratos or the 037 Rally would be great !
Or even better: The Fiat 131 TC Abarth World Rally Championship with the Allitalia Look !
We know it won't be the same as the single player, but KY is hoping to include as much as possible in online thats in single player and more, and where did KY say not to expect too much,? The last he said about it was he'd sorted the problems which was at E3.TurboLevin2NVOh, and one more thing. Even Kazunori said not to expect too much out of online because it wont be the same as single player.
Borderyou shouldnt compare a game and real life . because if you hit the wall in a game @ 150mph you dont die !!!!!!
that tends to have an effect in real life ---
Borderand also think what ya like about me i dont give a toss , you dont know me and never will -so keep ya oppinions about me to yaself n stick to the thread OK !!!!
Pak
neanderthalit still sounds like the petulant whining of a spoiled brat.
having thoroughly spanked all my friends and co workers in gt i could very easily get a big head about it. but ive raced against real online racers. people who can beat my best lap by three seconds if not more. so i stick to what i know, which is there are plenty of very good racers out there, a few phenominal ones, some hacks, and a bunch of fanboy wannabes.
i dont know you, have never raced against you, so you pick the category you think you belong in. you can boast when the games out.
Bordertheres now way you can tell me - if you do your best lap in a 250 bhp skyline around the Ring on GT , that you could get within 5 seconds of it in the real world just because you can on GT . you wouldnt have the guts or the skills
After looping the first video for several hours i have decided i am not man enough to take on that track.Pak
MartinmaxxIt is the other way around : We are checking real lap times, performed by professional drivers on cars that may be featured in GT4, to then try to equal them on GT4 (once available). No one here is talking about achieving the same lap time in real life. Only a professional driver and GT enthusiast can do that, which is exactly what PD did with Nissan´s top test driver.
Concerning online racing, you can do that in GT3 and GT4P (or any game) by posting your lap times and comparing them with other drivers around the world. Even in this forum you have a special board called ONLINE RACING https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=12
Cheers!!
BorderPolyphony were quoted in saying that if you had a car like a subaru say ...
and you wanted to compare lap times with GT and a track day meet . you could get times within 5 seconds .
im saying - unless your a very competant racing driver - it aint gonna happen - because of the " NO FEAR FACTOR "
Also i do know you can post times on here , but posting and racing together are worlds apart , and there are people in this world who take pleasure in lying about times just so they can say they are better .
if ya really want a true reading of how good you are in a game - you have to race against a person or as in gt's case 5 peeps .
MartinmaxxThat is not what PD said. They said that Nissan´s top test driver, which happens to be a GT fan, was able to achieve in GT4 a lap time within 5 seconds of his record in a real life R34 Skyline GTR around the Nürburgring. As the lap time is around 8 minutes (480 seconds), the 5 second difference is around 1%. With this statement, they demonstrated how good a simulation GT4 is.
Concerning cheating when racing online by submitting false times, they are generally checked with X-port replays sent over the Internet. By checking that file, you can know if the car has been hybrided, if the mods are as per the specific race limitations and if the lap is legal (two wheel always on track - no shortcutting, wallriding, or any other form of cheating). Good enough to compare your GT driving skill with other GT drivers.
It is evident you are not a "know it all" kind of person.
BorderYour absolutly right , im not a know it all , unlike youself and neanderthal !!!!
And PD did say that if you wanted to compare your OWN times in your OWN CAR - on a track that appears in GT !!!!!!! YOU COULD !!!!!!!
NOW stop pretending to know everything COZ U DONT !!!!!!!!!![]()
MartinmaxxThat is not what you said in post # 103. You talked about Subarus, track day meets and 5 sec differences. KY talked about Skyline R34 GTR, Nürburgring and 5 sec differences. You can watch the E3 video presentation and hear these exact facts.
I didn´t mean to sound as a "know it all", because I am not. But I don´t post about things I don´t know!! Maybe you should do the same, because until now, you are only diggin yourself deeper and deeper![]()
Borderdo you want me too draw you a picture - coz it seems you cant read very well !!!
i said " if you had a car like a subaru say ... "
GET IT ----- " if you "
that means your own car
subaru was an example !!!!!!!!!!!!!
you might not want to sound like a know it all --- but you do !!!!
and i dont pretend to know it all - other than what i see & hear
now will you quite makin stupid arguments and post somethins sensible !!!!![]()
MartinmaxxAnd what about the 5 seconds you mentioned. Were those also an example as the Subaru mentioned before?
I do know that what I said was officially informed by PD. It is a fact, not an example. I already told you the source. If you haven´t seen that E3 video, maybe you should.
Are you the forum moderator? If not, you should ask yourself not to post stupid arguments. This is an open board, and my posts are under this board rules.
Besides, I am only posting facts...
BorderPolyphony stated " within 5 seconds " not me !!!!
and yes i have seen the vids - all of em !!
no im not the moderator and i have been trying to stop this stupid argument since post #100
so maybe - you are the one who keeps comin out with pointless arguments - and being the master statistician .
maybe its you who thinks he is the MOD !!!!
now lets leave it there ok !!! - it obviously isnt goin anywhere and whatever i say is being taken outta context because people like you dont read the posts properly .
something you should practice more of in the future![]()
MartinmaxxInstead of proving me wrong, you prefer to quit!
I do read the posts. It is because of reading them carefully that I have been able to highlight your errors. Maybe your posts are either not clear, or not true. The "within 5 seconds" phrase you mentioned as being stated by PD indeed corresponded to the R34 on Nürburgring by Nissan´s top test driver as I said. Not any car, on any track with any driver as you said.![]()
Have a good night!👍
MartinmaxxThat video rocks!!
I´ve had it in my computer for a couple of years, and I always go back to it. Stefan Roser (the CTR driver) is really talented. I´ve seen him working for Auto Motor und Sport lately.
There is a good chance for it to be in GT4, as it is one of the most important cars (if not the most) in RUF´s history.
If you like that car, you can check this forum (here http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=442358#post442358 and here http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=40222) where a very cool chap from England called Adam has bought one recently. He (and his family) also own a red 996 RUF Turbo R and an E39 M5. He also happens to be a GT enthusiast, and his very own red RUF Turbo R has been "scanned" by PD to be featured in GT4. 👍
PakThanks for the links 👍 damn if I had a car like that and PD came 'scanning' it I would first demand some things to be in GT4![]()
Thats laps opf within 5 secs of real life on the Ring, other tracks are within 1 sec of real life times.nemesisj185 seconds?.... that would of left you in the dust in real life (in the game also)
But it's an improvemet
Borderdo you want me too draw you a picture - coz it seems you cant read very well !!!
i said " if you had a car like a subaru say ... "

Border your right there, in a video game anyone ill push a car much harder than they woiuld dare to in real life, and it's because of the consequences of pushing too far in real life, but the potentioal times in both real life and in GT4 are very similar. As for the online, comparing lap times that have been viewed by replays is the only way to do online compeitions at the momnet, I'm also aware that in competitions where there are people that don't have an X-Port or arn't willing to send their memory card with the replay (lets face i not many people are willing to do that anyway, I'm not) lie about the times. I've noticed my tinmes arn't anything too special overall in GT, I always thought I was very good at the game but few of my times compete with the top times at racing line for example which are genuine times, however in proper race online in other sims and in multiplayer races in GT3 I can hold my own very well whoever I play as long as the cars are equal. I do better in a proper race than in a time trial, I do better when I see what the opposition is doing and how much harder I need to push to do that, bt better in GT3's trials is horrible and blocks your view more often than aiding you). Also, going around sayng your great is not a good thing to do online, even the top drivers don't brag because it stops people liking you, and trynig to insult other people has the same effect suprisingly, stop being hostile and calm down with the I'm good, your just know it alls who don't know **** really type of comments because stuff like what I've just quoted is good stuff, it's spot on but people wont see that if it starts with comments like I'm an exellent GT player your just a know it all.BorderI will take the car well past its limits on every corner of a video game , to make my times faster , it doesnt matter if i push to hard and crash @ 150mph, ive only gotta start again .
Whereas in the real world , i would never push a car that hard for fear of crashing .and there isnt a person alive who could say they would push a real car as hard as computer game car .until games developers can make a game hurt you for crashing , its pointless even going there , the lap times will be close but GT's will always be quicker simply for the " NO FEAR " factor .
theres now way you can tell me - if you do your best lap in a 250 bhp skyline around the Ring on GT , that you could get within 5 seconds of it in the real world just because you can on GT . you wouldnt have the guts or the skills .
So lets leave this pointless argument @ that , and start a thread about something worth talkin about .
MartinmaxxGlad you liked it.
You can find some info about the actual "scanning" of that RUF here http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=32070&highlight=gran+turismo and here http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=33103&highlight=gran+turismo
If PD was scanning any of my cars, I would definately ask for a beta copy of the game!!
Regards.
