I agree with you on this point, I am just saying that they never actually made an S.S Trueno, because Battle Stage is saying that after ID came out Toyota then went back, and found the Original AE86 Mold, and proceded to make a few new AE86s with the 4agelu motor, and a carbon fiber hood that looks like the one in ID and actually called them the S.S Trueno. At least that is how I understand what he is saying.

I have never heard of a massed produced SS trueno I do know that JDM made some truenos that were setup for drifting but did not resemble the appearence of the SS trueno i agree from everyone that its from the manga and anime Initial D i happen to be a big fan of this and shuchi shigeno is on the manga cover they just produced this car for the game GT3 as a car that u can only win there was never an SS trueno but JDM made custom truenos thats all that i know and there is no such thing as a factory ss Trueno

Damn, that is a nice car TurboDrift. Props! I bet you have some good fun in that thing. What boost are you running? What turbos are you using?

As for the Shigeno version, it is the car from Initial D but is not some make-believe car. We don't know what suspension setup it has, but the engine is a TRD Group A blacktop (20V 4A-GE, from an AE101 I think). Yes, it really does have 240hp, and really does go to 11k RPM. They are impossible to find though, and cost about $8k to build (just the engine). They need to be rebuilt often too. You can buy a book from TRD that describes how to build one.

i might be a little late in reading this thread, but that nsx is SOOO NICE!!!!!!:D

by "JDM" do you mean "TRD" ??just makin sure :)

awesome NSX and RX7!! damn I am so envious!!

Back to the subject, I ain't big pimping but I've got cars that somewhat resemble cars in GT2 and GT3. I've got an ae85 (dont rag on me i bought it for $300), which is a weaker model of the trueno 86, I've got an SVT Focus which is either a weaker version of the Rally Focus or a faster version of the Focus in GT2, and I used to have a '75 Stingray which is like the '73 Corvette Stingray in GT2. :)

i get my liscense in 6 months 27 days, im looking for a 91-93 240sx coupe- i wanna do a S13 front end conversion and after i get good at drifting, swap in an SR20, but the first things im gonna do on it are all suspension

well i got 2 years to save for a s13 , rx7 fc , 180sx (240sx in USA) or even a SW20

i can be optimistic if i want!!

i really want a fd rx-7 but im poor and i hear there are over heating problems so i'm going in-expensive- if anyone know anything different, would the fd be a better choice Daily Driver/Drift

Ok, here's an update on that Special AE86 I was talking about. I misunderstood the person when I first heard about it. One was actually built by Toyota, it DOES exist. But guess what...

Only one person has one...

Keiichi Tsuchiya....

Toyota restored a special AE86 just for him.

If you're poor, an FD will only make you poorer. They are very high maintainance ~

Yea they didnt have 2 oil coolers like they needed and they also tried to make the car so like that they made the radiator alot smaller then needed. They also tend to blow is u put bolt ons on it if you dont strengthen the interiors of the engine and rotars.

The R1 and R2 versoins of the FD have dual oil coolers, and the radiator is pretty big, if you look under a FD is it angled back so they could fit it in there. If you buy a FD with a brand new motor and don't upgrade, (besides reliability.::Aluminum AST, vacuum line job, checking all solenoids) Then it'll last 100k miles with a curteous driver, but with someone who like to hear turbos spool, then you'll be lucky to see 60k miles. The non turbo FC is a reliable car, but once FI is introduced to the RX-7 is goes to hell..but it is fun to drive while it lasts. I would only reccomend an FD RX-7 to someone who has time and money to cover broken parts.. (They're old, everything breaks on them) The only heat issus I ever had was because of a bad thermostat, which ended blowing my motor. Once you see the water temp hit the red say bye bye. MKIV Supra's are pretty reliable, but I haven't owned a TT, I dont know about them, I had a non-turbo I drove until 150k miles and sold it. It still ran perfectly. I am buying a 1991 240SX coupe next, and I plan on doing a SR20DET swap to get some drifting in.

Im sorry, i wasnt clear on the version that i was talking about, i was talking about the touring edition of the rx7 when i made those claims about the oil coolers and the radiator

No problem whatsoever, I just didn't want to discourage anyone from buying a nice FD. but yes, on the touring model and the base model there is only one oil cooler, not to mention the lack of the front strut tower bar, the lack of the nice "synthetic suede" leather interior and no front splitter. but you can get the sunroof which decreases the car's overall chassis rigidity. I do, however, like the leather seats. Plus you could get an automatic tranny, but who wants an auto in a sports car?

On the other subject I blew the motor in my FD today while attempting a top speed run. I guess a street ported motor with some 3mm apex seals is in order. I was at 172 mph when my motor ceased to be. all I could hear was the faint sound of grinding, which became very loud letting me know a rotor was rubbing a housing I believe it's the rear but I wont know until I run a compression test.

But for now I'm going to play some GT3. get a load off my mind.

My pops has a 89 camaro RS and i usually drive the Z28 in the game. except the RS is a convertible. And yes, i have drifted in it. (****IN SCARY!! NEVER AGAIN)
