I would like a Lamborghini Murcielago revving and snarling and doing a huge burnout then crashing into an ice cream van and the the ice cream just to pour out of the van. just a thought.
I think there is a program, 100% legal, called Theme Compiler Tool or something like that to make your own themes. So, perhaps is only a matter of time seeing animated themes, made by users.
Personally I don't like this animated issues. I prefer the menu as clean and simple as possible. But I understand that this is something that many people like.
I'm actually looking for someone with a devkit so I could try to make a dynamic background for my theme, I only know one but I should be able to work something out I hope

Photoshop/Illustrator and just the edited theme maker that allows sounds and the new icons not supported by the old one, still pretty primitive i wish sony would update it but now they're going to go all greedy with animated themes sadly
Ive had my PS3 since launch but Ive never changed the theme from anything but the default. Just not something thats important to me, but Im guessing a dynamic theme is different than a regular theme, what does it do?

A dynamic theme is just that: a theme that's dynamic. It moves and sometimes has it's own sounds. They range from real photos with a couple CGI elements to things from games. Like there are Heavy Rain themes that are the "backgrounds" from the ARI glasses.
But, in regards to a GT5 dynamic theme. It'd be cool. Maybe like a continuous replay of a race on Nurburgring or something.
Some in car replay footage on the F1 car on a night race would be cool, or LMP cars at Le Mans. Some dynamic themes that really show off the big new features would be great.

Maybe a continous lap of either Le Sarthe or The Ring with the weather and day/night changing and everything viewed from in car and the car could even change as the interior grows dark right before the lights come on.

There will be a dynamic theme because you get it free with collectors edition, and signature edition versions of the game. there is a gt5 theme which looks pretty good and is available now for free on the psn
