.

i havnt got gt4 yet, but im sure the WRS'ers and the Veteran GT3 ers whove played it countless hours will adapt to GT4 without too much effort. From what ive heard GT4 is definetly a step forward. remeber guys its still only a ps2, not a hardcore pc with uber graphic cards. the only downside is the auto saving but im sure i will get used to it. As will many others.

fcuking whiney little *****es, livr with what you got, you really think PD was going to fix it that much to make it perfect, YOU DUMB ***** IF SO THEN WHATS THE POINT OF MAKING GT5 IN 3 YEARS! HUH! THEY WOULD BE LOSEING MONEY IF THEY MADE GT4 THE LAST INSTALLMENT! IDIOTS1 I KNEW THERE WAS GOING TO BE A THREAD BY SOME STUPID FORZA PLAYER THAT DOESNT LIKE GT4 CAUSE OF SOME MINOR ADJUSTMENTS , SO LIVE WITH IT OK ! GOD DAMN TREE HUGGERS

You need a warning and a time-out badly.
Dude, there are plenty of future Forza players here at GTP.

All in all, you're being a sterotype.

oh yea, and Enthusia is gonna suck major balls too, dont know why this thread is still here, kind of ironic to see this here in a gran turismo 4 section, **** if it was a forza board then yea i guess but it very own gt4 section ........i know hes intitled to his opinion but thats somthing you keep to yourself, now future GT4 buyers will think twice about buying GT. well anyways yea warn me or do what ever the hell you want, kinda bull**** when the make of this thread gets intitled to his opinion and i cant say what i wanna say ...get it !

The only thing sucking balls right now is you. And I'm not talking about gum balls, I'm talking about sweaty testicles with bulging veins on them.

Tetsuo, not to be mean, but typing like that and talking like that are things that will end up getting you banned if you continue doing it.. The typing wont, but it WILL annoy alot of people and you'll get a lot of crap for it.

Anyway, I have to agree that GT4's physics are a HUGE change. It will take a VERY long time for me to get used to these physics. The first time i drove i ended up 5-10 seconds behind the lead car in the first sunday cup race (against vitz's, mini's, etc) in a 202 hp '98 MR2. Now that i've done the licenses, i'd like to think that i'm a little better, but the braking system makes it very hard for people with a regular DS2 controller to keep from locking everything up. I might add that the TCS works a little too well, even if only at level 5.

Small tracks and fast cars don't mix well, if at all, in this game.. Take the first race in Sunday Cup for example. If you have a normal sized fast car, you will have a hard time winning. Why? Because they put you up against a bunch of small cars like Vitz's, Scion's, Mini's, etc., that can all turn on a dime. They may not be fast, but they dont need to be to race on tracks like Autumn Ring Mini..

Another gripe that i have is why they changed High Speed Ring. The track is nothing like the original. Its bigger, its wider, theres practically no scenery but grass and walls, and the track is extremely slippery even with TCS and ASM turned on.

None the less, i still think the game is fun, but it's going to be VERY hard to beat (for me, atleast) and that may end up being the cause for me losing my interest in the game.. It's happened plenty of times before.

I like b-spec mode, by the way. It gives you a chance to see how good the computer would be if in your position. :)

Continued poor implementation of the AI is beginning to make it obvious to me: GT is first and foremost intended to be a driving simulator, NOT a race simulation!

I'm probably quite different compared to most posters here in that I did not buy GT4 entirely as a form of entertainment, as some sort of racing game, or something to play online with. Rather, I find that by far the most enjoyable thing to do is to pick a car similar to the one I drive (BMW E46) and run solo laps, similar to what I do in real life. Isn't this essentially the point of this series, anyway? The Real Driving Simulator? There isn't a racing simulator AI in existence that replicates actual driver behavior in a way that satisfies me. I've yet to see any AI of any sort make use of varying driving techniques - trail braking, for one - from car to car, or use advanced passing techniques. Why bother? It's far more satisfying to work on improving your laptimes and experimenting with various techniques, than race against computer generated opponents in settings that very frequently fail to reflect that of an actual club racing circuit.

The most notable improvement to me is the new physics engine, which I greatly appreciate. It's the first iteration of the GT series that, to me, displays physics behavior competent enough to deserve the title of "simulator." Now, if we could add some sort of damage system...

I don't have GT4 yet but most of what I have read fills me with excitement.

Please stop flaming the chap who started this thread. He may not be happy with the game but just because he doesn't bow down and kiss PD's feet doesn't mean he isn't entitled to his opinion. It's not as if he has come on here and said "GT4 is a load of Cr*p". He's stated his view in a concise clear and friendly way......

........ unlike the right honourable gentleman "Testiclesooi" or whatever his name was.

I see the point about FF, FR, MR, 4WD cups not being at different levels in different halls now.

Please correct me if I'm wrong but I get the impression that in these particular races (unlike GT3) that the opposition is chosen to match you anyway...i.e. if you race with a 150 bhp vehicle then the AI will choose similar opposition and if you race with 500 bhp then you'll race against faster cars. Is this correct?

Tetsuo - you ever tried one of those IQ tests - might lead to greater self-appreciation.

I love the autosave idea, doesn't bother me at all because with GT3 I wouldn't even sell cars to be able to buy another, I'd always race, race and then race some more to buy every car available. Only time I sold cars was when their mileage was high and I could afford a replacement, or if I had 2 of the same vehicle having won the same as a prize.

NO !.... The cars change sometimes but your opponents don't adapt to your power.
You can enter with a 150 hp car against 250hp cars or with a 500 hp against the same rivels... it's boring...

Ahhhh - thanks Max!

In that case I do indeed see your point and it is a shame that some of these competitions have not been duplicated in higher difficulty halls.

My only complaint is with the tracks. There are some very famous tracks that have never made it on the GT series. Leave off one of the dozen NSX's (as if there is any difference between most of them) and a few other cars & add more tracks.

Easy now! Don't go knocking each other like this.

I don't have GT4. But this auto-save deal has me concerned. I'll be sure to think about that when I play GT4 for about 2 weeks to a month. You never COMPLETELY know about a game until you've played it for at least two weeks, maybe three. The title of this thread is "Who Thinks GT4 Sucks," not "GT4 Sucks and Here's Why." I have yet to play the game, and let me touch on some issues I've seen in this thread.

Someone mentioned too many Japanese cars. I'm no patriot when it comes to cars. I have no favorite nationality of cars, so I'm not bothered.

Physics and AI. Well, nothing's going to be perfect. And don't go knocking GT4 because there isn't damage or anything to even warrant damage. And haven't we been down the cul de sac about AI before? From GT3, I can remember that if you shoved some guy off the road and out of the lead pack, that racer can come back and make you pay for it. Also, play "Pro Race Driver" before talking about GT's AI. I've seen worse.

And Photo Mode? Damn it to hell, man... don't like it, don't use it. Dig? At least give things a chance. If PD wanted gamers to take some time away from racing and have some fun with other modes, don't you think they'd offer something? It may not be critical to 100% completion, but it's a fun way away from racing.

My best guess is that with the A-Spec points deal, you have a chance to race competitively against others, not like using a GT-One racing against Daihatsus. So if you can win at a disadvantage, it is only a shame if the rest of the pack just gives up and LETS you win.

Or, maybe I have yet to play the game. But from what I'm reading, my only concern is Auto-Save. Again, this is "Who Thinks GT4 Sucks?" I haven't played it, but I don't think it will stink.

Well, ok more tracks are always good, but I think the choice of PD is good... over 50 tracks is a lot and honestly I'm at 40% now and I've only raced on Autumn Ring about 4 times or so... more tracks also need more cups... wait until GT5... hopefully SS R11 will return...

just want to say that in real life(FORGET burnout, nfsu) car doesnt go so fast so you can't get feel of speed like in burnout, dont know how many has drived car but it DOESN'T feel so fast as you think

On paper, yes perhaps. In reality Aspec points are a number in a submenu of your garage. Not more... well you can impress your hardcorefriends with it but apart from that it is useless.

I don't race GTone against daihatsus, but before you race you don't know who strong your oponents are !you enter and you have to drive (let's say a 10 race championship) because of the autosave feature and I take a car I like... there is only one real 4WD cup in Gt4 for example and I want to drive EVo,STi oder GT-R with some mods for sound and fun and not another car, so I drive it. If the game would force me to drive a Celica GTfour with no mods and N2 tires I would have fun with it, but not if I don't have to....

This is very true Japelli.

GT will always seem slow compared to games like Burnout 3 (insane sense of speed).

My main gripe with GT3 (and I'm sure many will agree with this) is that if you're driving at 220 kmh in a Dodge Viper, it doesn't seem twice as quick as 110kmh in a mini..... hence the speed proportion just felt wrong.

I also noticed that part of the fault was the widescreen element. You play GT3 on an old fashioned square tv and the sense of speed feels greater than choosing the widescreen option for some reason.

If Prologue is anything to go by the sense of speed has improved slightly anyway.

Insane speeds like in Burnout wouldn't give a player to make all the minute adjustments to control a vehicle accurately anyway - simply wouldn't work.

I've been playing GT4 for the last 6 weeks - and honestly, I've never even bothered to change the save thingy.

Compared to GT3, GT4 is sooo.. No wait. There IS no comparison...

Why not simply race with the car of your preference for the pure enjoyment, and THEN race with an inferior car for the challenge.

There's always the opportunity to race the series as many times as you want:)

And having just spoken before thinking - I'm sure your reply will be that when racing with the car you'd prefer to race - the opposition are simply too slow so spoils enjoyment?

I guess I would like to see more real tracks and less made up ones. I'm not unhappy with the game, but this is the one thing I would change if given the option.

My kids look around this site from time to time and as such I find your language quite unacceptable. As such I have reported your post to the mods (and I may not be the only one), I don't swear in front of kids IRL and will not do so in a public forum where kids may be reading.

I would ask you to do the same, the originator of this post had valid concerns (that affected his enjoyment of the game), and I for one come to this site because of the wide range of opinions.

If you disagree with someone, post a well reasoned reply that argues your point, not just a foul-mouthed tirade.

All you have managed to do is strengthen his point and make yourself look like a fool.

This may be a Gran Turismo board, but I'm sure that last thing most members would want is a site full of sycophants.

I have to point out here.... that driving a mini at 110 Km/h would probably feel faster than driving a Viper at 220Km/h Especially as you probably have to hold onto various parts of the Mini to hold it together as it tries to break into little pieces underneath you...

...and that is coming from a xbox forza fan.

How can you be an Xbox Forza fan, when Forza Motorsport isn't even out on shelves yet??? If not, is their a previous game? Like one just called, "Forza"? No offense, I'm actually kind of curious, since I have an XBOX, and DO plan on getting Forza Motorsport, but if Motorsport is a sequel to a Forza series, then I need to try the original one out.

You can't say what you want because this is a private-property forum, and I'm here to tell you to follow the rules you agreed to when you signed up.

I've got enough offenses in this thread alone to ban you out of hand, and unless I see a major adjustment in your attitude, that's exactly what's going to happen.

Well, again it doesn't work like this, I thought so, too, but the first point is the huge amount of races : driving the races two times, hmm let me guess you need over 100 hours to master Gt4 (endurence excluded), I study and don't have the time to drive it two times,a nd why should I ? There is no motivation left, stronger regulations would be the right way I think... and for beginners you could ad a "easy mode" with weaker opponents...

k back to this auto save........
who knows how to get around it?.
cuz before I start, I wanna turn it off. Ill save when Im finished.
..it simply takes less time :)

It's funny, but I like the opposite : I prefer the GT original courses ... trial mountain deep forest autumn ring grand valley, I think they are great and much more fun than
the new york course or motegi .... of course that is my personal opinion, but I think PD should keep the balance

In europe the nurburgring is legendary and I'm just looking forward to lapping this circuit in some quality cars. Can't wait!

I agree, but... The curse words are in *s, so... if your kids don't already know what could be placed there, it shouldn't be a concern, but of course you're right, youngens shouldn't be exposed to that sort of thing.

I have only played for about 4 hours now and I totally love it. I don't have a DFP yet so I dont know what that will be like but it is much more realistic at speed. Especially Nurburgring( awesome) the speed almost feels too fast and it's great.

10 tries on test 15 in IA license and have only managed to make it 3/4 the way around Nurb before a minor mistake and was instantly thrown into the wall. Finally!!..............a challenging test!! Love it

One complaint is Midfield Raceway, my favorite track. Is it just me or did the loosen up some of the turns on backside of track that used to be quite tight?

Other complaint is load times. I sure hope some people figure out how to properly flatten and patch this puppy so we can put it on the HDD. When I put GT3 on my HDD, the load times disappeared and was actually fun to play again.

After playing 4, I will never play 3 again! Overall happy customer.
