Yeah well I reacted to the first post after I saw it, immediatly............so I didn't look at the rest of the thread, and it seems pretty much alright for the rest of it, not that annoying I've already edited my post cause when I looked at it, I immediatly saw it was a BIT to much and rude so.............hope no one will see the rest of it:guilty: PLEASE don't react to that, just the edited part is okay, I just went overboard.......

They haven't fixed the things that really matter though, and the only good new original track is El Capitan.

You guys had too much expectations for such a game, it's a SERIES dude, why would they change everything just to fit the needs of a punk 15 years old teen?

If you want something refreshing and new go buy Forza, it looks very promising, but don't dissrespect a legend, have some respect.

People have the right to say how they feel (hence forum) maby you should read A thread about how everyone loves GT4 and not this one. 👎 "know what I mean".

We don't want to hear rants for OR against GT4. We want to hear actual intelligent discussions about the pros and cons, a little deeper than "GT4 sux!" followed by "Die you idiot scum!"

Nurburgring is amazing! 13 or so miles long! It's an achievement having that in on its own. It's a real life test track, what more could you want?

Not really, all I wanted is more realistic physics, which they did deliver on to an extent, better AI (this has been since GT1), more thought out races, a wide selection of older cars and some more tuning options. I wasn't expecting race mods (even though that would have been nice), increased grids or things like that.

And so what if it's a series - the way you say it it sounds like I'm overreacting. This is the FOURTH game out, and you wanted there to be little/no changes from the past games? I'm sorry, but when the series has this many flaws and they haven't bothered to improve it in 7 years, I'm gonna be a little pissed.

I know, I love it whether I'm driving a super fast LMP or my mum's 240, I'm just saying I hoped for a better selection of tracks, not 4 Fuji's and terrible city tracks like Seoul.

Funny thread.

I like how some people don't like anything negative being said about GT4, it would be a much more useful and informative forum if everyone said "I love it, it owns!!" and that's it.

Apart from that, can someone that's playing with a Dualshock2 tell me how the steering compares to GT4:Prologue? More specifically, how the steering speed compares. I found steering in GT4:P to be very imprecise and slow, and it spoilt it for me somewhat.

Before the fan boys tell me to play with a DFP, I play PC sims with a wheel, but I'd rather just play GT4 on my big old TV from the comfort of a sofa.

Technically. The "ring" isn't an original track. But it is a new track to the series and it is incredible. I didn't expect it to be so narrow though...heh heh.

I really do think it's funny that people say they "hate" a game as deep as GT4 after a few hours. I mean sheesh, give the game a chance. You don't like the autosave feature? I personally think it's good. Why? Because there were many times in GT3 where I would by a car, spend time tuning and testing and turn the PS2 off before I could save it. With this new features, things like that will be minimized.

The only thing that I really don't like is the loading time between menus. I like the various menus with all the graphics and all. But I'd rather have the GT3 style with almost no loading then to have pretty graphics and wait 10 -25 seconds in between menus. But to be honest, that's my only major gripe since it actually makes things take longer to do what you paid to do...drive! :)

Is there some explanation about car setups??? Camber, ride high, LSD, etc... What it's for and what it does to your car???

Go to the GT3 Tuning & Settings board and look up ///M-Spec's pocket guide to GT3 Suspension. That will get you started.

I would hardly call a post titled "Who thinks GT4 sucks" and intelligent one. So please spare me with that crap. This is a GT message board, if you want to rant about negative crap, create your own message board and ***** and complain, or better yet, get off your lazy asses and create your own super realistic driving simulator and make sure to include all of the things that you wanted from GT4. *****ing wont do a damn thing.

Play the game, or dont, its that simple.

I think all those people can play Burnout3 and NFSU2 or any other arcade racer (not hating on those games as I do work for EA.. heheh.) BUT GT4 is a MASTERPIECE. If you do not know the physics of following the line, braking early slow in to the turn and fast out of the turn... dont hate on a game if you go into a hairpin turn at 100mph brake and then try to turn without any kind of controlled downshifting first and braking early. before you can talk, see if you can beat my friend's record @ Nurburgring of

6:16.xxx and my record @ Nurburg of 6:29.xxx. with a JGTC car (we used Motul Pitwork Z). If you can do that and still complain about GT4, then i will shut up. Until then dont hate on a game until you know how to play it.

The guy named "Fumes" is the ace. His setups are always outstanding. Study how he does it and you'll learn a ton. (I fiddle with his brake and TCS settings a bit, but I don't do much more.)

It'll be interesting to see how GT3 setups work in GT4.

I think that GT4 is a marvel of human achievment, to think that a game so hyperrealisitc in physics could be so much fun and so much like real driving just blows my mind!!!

although I think the GT4 physics is pretty good it's far from being Hypperrealistic.

The Physics in gt4 really cant be understated, they are perfect!! it seems soo real now, the weight shift actually effects how the cars corner, there is a real feeling of connection too the car

no racing title even grand prix legends( dont hurt me!)has felt so right!

If by perfect you mean excellent while still allowing for a bit of aracade-ness. Then I will agree fully!

If there is one type of game that we are able to judge immediately it's a simulator. GT games are wayyy more arcade-biased than many of the PC simulators out there anyway (which I'm sure you've mastered too), but GT4 claims to be a driving-simulator, so if it's good our first impressions should be "ooh, this feels just like driving in real life".

Having to learn the physics just proves it's way off the mark in the first place, so don't go telling genuine sim racers or real-life drivers that they should learn "how to play it", and then still claim it's a super-realistic masterpiece.

I don't have GT4 yet, I play a wide selection of PC sim-racing titles though, and I fully expect an assisted arcade-biased driving experience in GT4 just as I had with the previous GT titles, nothing I have seen has convinced me it will be otherwise, but it will still be a fun game I'm sure.

Yes i mean they have the perfect balance, its fun and sim-like at the same time god knows how they blended the two so well

i think forza and enthusia might have there work cut out too improve on the physics in gt4...........only time will tell

It's funny, but I like the opposite : I prefer the GT original courses ... trial mountain deep forest autumn ring grand valley, I think they are great and much more fun than
the new york course or motegi .... of course that is my personal opinion, but I think PD should keep the balance

Don't get me wrong, I love those tracks, but coming from someone that spends most of the summer running DE's and track events at Road America and other midwestern tracks, it would be fun to run other tracks I may never get to. I would also love to see my home track (Road America) in GT5 - it's hands down one of the best available in the United States. Any past or present F1, Champ Car, & IRL driver will say the same, and have on many occations.

Oh well, it's an awesome game - can't wait to get home!
 
If GT4 sucks, then I guess I will use it for a coaster for my beer, while wiping my butt with any XBox game disc I have ever played and using all my other PS2 games to scoop the crap out of my cats' litter box.
At least those discs are good for something, cuz, you know, if GT4 sucks then all those other games I own must be the cause of the imminent downfall of society.
SCEI should recall all copies of GT4 and force the insurgents in Iraq to play it. Since the game is so bad, they will surely surrender once exposed. This would be the humane thing to do, as forcing them to play any other console game would surely kill them.
So you see, if it wasn't for GT4, the world would already be involved in a global conflict.
Thank you GT4, for saving us from World War III, even though you are a game that sucks.
 
i've gotta agree with the thread starter.. nothing changed! sure theres more cars.. but what more cars??? more skylines!!!! :dunce: what can we use them for????? arghhhh... i cant stand this game.. i had a huge spectation to this release, but now it seems like a waste of money... :crazy:


to the guy above! you sure sound cool (not) Gt4 tries to be something it cant be... simple as that!
