Same here but they left the worst aussie racing car there. Id have one if it was the GEMonster

Agreed,i'm a bit disappointed that they didn't put it in.

You're a fan of the 180SX, right?

Suddenly, it's all clear, isn't it?

Everyone just swaps a 240SX part onto a 180SX, while they swap out the taillights of the 200SX onto the S14 and the rear bumper... You get the idea, right?

Yes that would be fun but what would be the best for me would be a car creator. Simple CAD type system to squash and stretch the body to your hearts desire (within limits) and choose the engine and all other parts from an extensive list. Then you can share your Frankenstein car online from your own dealership. You use inn game credits to purchase. Drive in game. Lovely.

I think you're getting a bit ahead of yourself there, PD haven't even given us a livery editor yet let alone a 3D car editor.

Quite agree Simon but if I was designing it that's the sort of thing I'd be coming up with if I wanted to produce the best car game.

Errrrrr ummm, I was thinking of engine swap than a body changer.

Imagine the Mx5 Miata with a 2jz, RB20, A spoon engine wouldn't it be stunning hot!

A fan?Yes,i may be biased because i own one.
But i'm not sure i understand what the rest of your post means.

Same here

and if we are going to do stupid engine swaps then I'm going to put the 787B Running gear into a Fiat 400 Just for Shiggles. -- I invented that word lol

Well, ofcourse your not allowed to put a 787b into a fiat. It should only work with some cars and you just can't swap a engine you like, there will be certain engines you can choose from. Which would increase about 50-100hp.

If its allowed to put a 787b into a fiat then my shiggles feeling would certainly be satisfied. :)

Considering the extensive modifications required to shove an engine into a car with totally different engine mounts and patterns you're likely not going to come across anything like that, at least not from Polyphony.

Also you didn't invent shiggles XD you might of come up with it on your own but that's been around for years

OT: I dunno, even just being able to put say an evo III boot onto an evo VII would be pretty awesome.

Plus the idea of putting an evo body-kit onto a Starlet is pretty mad

So I guess my answer is yes, I would like interchangable body parts as long as it's viable to do so (I.E the body size matches up)

Extensive modifications? Er.....it's a videogame.

It would still take a lot of virtual work. Changing an engine is easy, you can't see it but changing body parts on a 3D model takes work to make sure they mesh together. It would be a lot of work, especially on several hundred cars.

I was referring to engine swaps only, I'll agree that swapping interchangeable bodyparts would take more work but premium cars are modular apparantly and if parts are interchangeable in real life (like the Sileighty for example) it won't be that much work.

But then you said "at least not from Polyphony"?

Sorry perhaps I'm wording things weirdly.

I've done engine swaps in real life, but I'd never do it between two different engine bases because of the amount of faffing about required to make the engine fit.

Different cars have different engine mounts so you need to do a lot of custom work to make everything do.

So I wouldn't expect them to simulate something like this any more than I'd expect them to simulate custom bodykits that I've made in my garage using bog and fiberglass

I only wish there were real mod applications available.

The 1998+ LSx series engine can be turbocharged to 1200 HP. We don't see that in the game though. They seem partial to Japanese power pumping.

I'm not sure I understand what you're getting at? GT-Rs can be tuned to that kind of power but we don't see that ingame either.. there's no bias there.

Maybe I'm wrong.

Really? That much power from smaller displacement?

I hope you don't mind my skepticism.

Does the engine last longer than a 1/4 mile race?

Not at all, there are actually quite a lot of examples of GT-Rs with that kind of output.

I'll have to try find the video I saw recently that was by a more reputable source but if you do a quick google search you'll find a fair few

Edit: Not the video I was looking for but it's another example
