Wow is right, why wait so long to tell your story?! We're you sworn to secrecy? Hahaha. Very nice.
I posted up the Trans-Cammer visit story at our Forum, the Tuner's Pit Racing Association forum, and the Playstation Forum in December 2009. It was linked here if I recall correctly. LINK:Trans-Cammer Visit

I do know that there was an active link while I was at SEMA Novemeber 2010, as there was a huge influx of GTPlanet folks that visited our Forum in November 2010.
I was told to not describe in great detail the methods used to gather data, or specific details about the equipment used by Taka, Kazunori's interpreter. I made sure that I did not take any photos of the Trans-Cammer until after they had put all their equipment away.I was very blessed to be afforded the opportunity to hang out with PD's guys, and really am grateful for what they've done for me.

Meeeting Kaz was an EPIC moment in my life. Kaz and Taku Imasaki ( SCEA's Producer) were very impressed that my girlfriend raced GT5 all night with me as we got our turns on the 7 stations they had set up.

50 here. Started with GT1. I had a hard drive melt down a while ago and lost some accounts. They were: KARTRACER96, GTP_KARTRACER96, PKR_KARTRACER96. Nice to be back. I use a 47" 3D LG TV and a G27 wheel.

Glad to see you back over here, Kartracer.

This racer has been my teacher for driving and tuning since Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. I have learned much about racing online and tuning from this "Jedi Master", and am forever in his debt for all the training.:)👍

51 and gaming off and on since the days of Pong and Intellivision

Interesting to note that many of the guys I've known and respected since the launch of GT5 are in this group...no coincidence I believe...đź’ˇ

52 Years young and proud to be......... still going. I've only played GT since
GT3, which I played with my son. He turns 31 tomorrow. I have about 20 games or so, but really only have played GT3, GT4, TT, ToCA2 ,ToCA3, GT5 Prologue, and now I am completely obsessed with everything GT5.

I designed, and now build my own Racing Stations. I've sold a fair number of them too. Here is a couple of Pics. My TV is 6" Larger in my "Griffin Den" than the one in the Living room. Don't care much for watching TV. GT5 is interactive.

I am the big Longhaired guy behind Kaz's Interpreter.

Wow as others have said, that is a very cool story.👍
Thanks for sharing it again.

40 here... been racing since Sprint, Monaco GP, Sega Turbo, Pole Position, Super Sprint, Final Lap.... etc, in the arcade; all manner of racing games on the Atari 2600, Spectrum +, Atari ST, MegaDrive, and Playstations 1, 2, and 3.

Skip to the end? Love racing games, always have, always will, and it's great to see them evolve and improve.

Over 40 ... Stones? Wow you lot are fatties packed with optional extras.

I'm only just 16, that's 224 old school English pounds... I guess a little over 100 of those pesky Euro Kilograms.

Joking aside.

For the moment I am under 40 - But unlike GT, I never seem to catch anyone else up, or anyone younger catch me up... Maybe we are all GT5 AI

SWERV_GRIFFIN: great to hear that story. 👍 Very cool.

FormulaKimball: You mentioned Adventure for the 2600, and how you found it much easier when playing it recently...When I tried it again a few years ago I found that my 10yr-old muscle memory came right back, and I was able to apply a more ... optimal ... approach to it, so I would agree!

Be off with you, boy! :trouble:

41 and no sign of stopping yet.... I used to dream about games looking and playing this good. :sly:

Same here, Chris. 👍 OK...no more posts here until I find a gray hair. :sly:
Or a rapidly approaching bald spot! :dunce:

Anyone looking for mature, fun-seeking, and clean GT5 racers, check out the links in my sig below. We average 7 to 11 guys
every Wed for EU and NA timeslots, and one weekend Special Event a month and would love more. :gtpflag:

Wow. Just wow.

Great to have you on board - and here's hoping that you'll be hanging around the likes of us for many, many more years to come.

That rig of yours is a killer - just hope I'll have one like that when I'm 80 and stewing alone in a basement full of books. ;)

BTW - GT5 IMS Binder? There's a lot more to you than meets the eye, eh?

It's alright mate, yer Mum don't mind me a bit, just the way I am....

Swerv your the ultimate GT fan. I've seen you over in the other forum for years. It's nice to see you over here. Did you make it to Sema this year?

No, I could not get the time off from my new job, so I'm around my own area wishing I was down there again, just like all of us are......

To the previous poster, I designed and started building my "Racing Station by SWERV_GRIFFIN Enterprises", because I could not find one comfortable enough to race in for hours. I've since made some others to sell. I have a few more in process that I need to finish, Powdercoat , and ship off to customers. My daytime job is getting in the way of all my fun projects.......;)

44 here. Been playing gt since the release of the Japanese version of gt1. Folks can add me jd42. Casual player.

I'm 46 and have been playing the series since GT1.
I have been using a Gameracer rig for the last 12 years, acquired during GT4. I am on my third wheel on this rig, using a G25 right now.
I consider myself to be still refining my driving / tuning and hope to be playing for many more years to come!

I've been Level 40 for a long time.

What? Oh, over 40 years.

Been over 40 for most of this century.

How many years you have lived and how young you are are 2 totally different concept.
How many years is easy to figure, how do you measure being young?

I guess it would have to be two-fold: are you mentally young enough to want to do crazy things (like racing), and are you physically young enough to be able to still do them (without becoming another Darwin Award winner)?

Same hear will be 51 in 3 months and still absolutely refuse to grow up.

A friend brought his PS1 over with GT1 2 weeks after its release date and showed me how to use it and then I stayed up all night long, showered and went to work and on the way home bought my own PS1 and GT1 and have been completely hooked since.

When the ole lady finally moved out my first thought was HOORAY!! more racing time and I never thought about her again and same goes for the 2nd one.

My next girl friend told me I need to get my priorities in order so I did;
1. Work
2. Gran Turismo
3. Girl friend

Guess what more racing time again = Silence + Happiness

Current GF enjoys watching me race and is even starting to play herself now = Happiness +2

👍
