why are racecars hated?

Yeah. It's funny how soon we forget the provisions I've outlined here and here.

Again, I don't care in any way who started what, what the history is, or whatever else there is to care about, one more person steps out of line and they take an automatic two week vacation. Simple enough, right?

Same here. Ferrari P3 and Esperante seem to work quite well for me....I much prefer stuff like that than the low-powered Nissans I've tried.

Not that extreme cars lol. Sorry for not making it clear. I meant TC,RM,GT500 and them types.

Sorry never looked in those thread..
Wont happen again ;)

Nothing completly against, but in my small experience with racing cars and modded cars for racing, i feel that my cars starts to have more dificulty to flow around the track. Maybe due the imperative front aerodynamics, maybe due the lowered and stiffer suspension, or even maybe due the natural design to gain grip instead lose grip. Of course all those things can be worked in, but stills not being the same thing.

I tried some cars, and even yet driftable, i loses "the spirit" of the whole thing. I dont know, just my 2 cents.

I don't hate racecars for drifting. I have some that I quite like to drift, such as the RX7 TC, MX5 TC, Silvia RM, ISF RM, the list goes on and on.

I do feel that they are a bad mix with street cars though. In general, the racecars have much more grip, and drift at significantly higher speeds.

They are much more difficult to tune IMO, but it's pretty awesome when you get it right.

Iirc, there was a decent discussion about drifting racecars in one of the comp threads....I think it was in the legion drift comp forum...

Race mods usually get away with it, but ground built racecars such as the GT500s and DTM's are far too snappy, and make Most tandems a tricky experience, but I've done it before.

As quoted the RWD TC cars are actually quite fun to drift. To me the RX7 feels like a D1 car which is why I like it. However, if you drift with say a Tom's Supra (or god forbid an X1) it's kind of stupid I guess because that car is known not to go sideways. It may be fully capable of chucking a skid but thats not the kind of car people are fond to drift because they usually have very hard springs and a lot of power as well as verry sharp and snappy handling

It makes me somewhat annoyed seeing racecars drifting, purely because you wouldn't see anyone drifting them in real life, so it ruins the realism of the game.

Plus as previous people have said, they are designed to have high amounts of grip and to race, so they have an unfair advantage.

Ah, in that case the TVR tuscan RM gets my vote.

I did try drifting a F1 car but it didn't go well.....could get it sideways and spin the tyres but struggled to find the grip again before spinning out. Backing off the throttle didn't seem to slow the tyres down quickly enough. Lack of engine braking perhaps? (a bit like the Caterham?)

Racecars are meant to race, a lmp isn't the same as a d1gp car is it now?

P.s racecar backwards is racecar.

obsessive rules
I have seen a Zonda R drifter. Oh wait, that was it spinning out of control.

Zonda R is OTT I was referring to stuff like jgtc(FR obviously) and gt500.

Because you made this thread

Go away. Your own team dislikes you.

The childish arguments stops here guys. And eddyac, there's no need to get rude to everyone on GTP 👎 .

Why do people not like the idea of "racecars drifting" I find it great fun.

For me, I don't like race car drifting at all because they are designed for a different purpose. They have increased downforce, which will make it harder to start a drift at speed. The suspensions are considerably harder and to make a good drift car it is essential to have soft springs. It's better off using what race cars are intended for IMO.

I find it more challenging IMO. You have to have it just right or else it wont work unlike a street car.

Zonda R is OTT....

Nah mate, every car should be as wild a ride as that. It's other cars that are wrong:lol:

Was messing about with with an old GT40 the other day....that seemed pretty good for going sideways in even if it sounds like a tractor playing along to the Bonanza theme tune:yuck:

Im my opinion thats just silly.

Because they are harder to drift and setup compared to a street car, you are only putting yourself at an un-necessary disadvantage if drift comps allow them.
