Why did you buy a PS2

So, why did you want to buy the best system ever? I bought it because of GT3 and some other games. I was also sick of Dreamcast.

I bought a PS2 for 3 reasons.


1) Metal Gear Solid 2 : Sons of Liberty

2) Gran Turismo 3

3) So I could have a sequel to the best system ever!

I got it as a present, but I wanted to get it because it's the best system ever, made by the best electronics maker ever, and it still is the best.

X box is having problems, Game cube was sucky from the begining. PS2......it is good.

Primarily GT3. Didn't care much for anything else. Now though, I barely play GT3

I bought it for a cuple reasons...

1. I wanted PS2 because it was the best system out at the time.
2. I bought PS2 for GT3.
3. I bought PS2 for Metal Gear Solid 2.
4. I also bought it for Grand Theft Auto 3.

I bought it because I didn't have a DVD player yet, and I knew the mighty Gran Turismo series would be coming...
I also like the FIFA series and Metal Gear.
I'm definitely not sick of my Dreamcast though. I still play LeMans, Rogue Spear, NHL2K, among others.

Same here. Well almost. I didnt have a dreamcast. I just wanted SONY's next best game system.

Well to be honest... besides GT3 and GTA3... I thought my PS1 was one the best systems ever, never had a problem with it, and the varity of the games was the best. Knowing that the PS2 was going to be able to play all those games plus whatever came out for it, the possiblities for game play were endless.

Plus, it gave me a reason to start buying DVDs

Had a PSX since '97, so backward compatibility, and I loved GT and GT2, so GT3 played a major factor.

I needed a new DVD player, at least that's what I told my wife. Seriously, in anticipation of:

FFX
GT3
and MGS2

Plus the 128-bit graphics, plus dolby 5.1 sound was a bonus from the PS1 days, and it just looked so much better than the 64....

I bought it for GT3. It's been wirth it. Of course, it sets a pretty high standard when I look at other games. I really like GTA3, though.

I bought a ps2 because of many reasons but the main ones were metal gear gran turismo tekken fini fantasy and gta also I assume that it would win due to it coming out a whole year before the rest of the machines I think now its just a fight between gamecube and xbox for second place because it is impossible to cath to the ps2's full yeah head start

Why you say hmmm I would say GT3 but I when GT3 came out I was broke. So I nicked Keeno_UK`s PS2 and almost finished the game in Two Weeks. Then eventually I bought my own
I suppose the reasons would be

MGS2
Laying the Smackdown 3
GTa3
FFX
and god knows how many other games
