Why do you keep changing your avatar?

Because I get bored with it very quickly. Also no-one else uses the avatars I make so, I like to use them all.
Also its fun to design them.

The first time I changed it was because someone else had the same one and it made it harder to quickly scroll thru a thread and find my posts.
Then a noob came along and got my second one, so I had my son make my current 'tar which I plan to keep until another user named gil comes along that happens to really like vintage Thunderbird Sport Roadsters.

I change my avatar when I get bored with it, or it's no longer relevant. Some have lasted a while, some haven't. This Civic one is getting tired but it's a sentiment that won't change any time soon so I'll probably keep it for a bit longer.

Changed from the Union flag to this changing one as a result of a thread about posting your picture. So yep that really is me. In one of my favourite places, Tignes (French Alps) taking a breather while some of the less able snowboarders catch us up.
If i was any good at Photoshop / Paintshop (whatever) i'd do a slightly better one along the same theme but static, but i pretty much suck at PSP so i guess it'll stay as is, even though it gives me a headache if i look at it for too long.

People who change from one stupid thing to another baffle me. It's like they want to make sure there is no doubt they have no aesthetic judgement whatsoever.
Many animated .gifs drive me crazy. They go too fast and are just confusing and hard to look at.
In the beginning I changed avatars all the time. Now I've settled on a couple keepers. But I enjoy playing around with Photoshop and occasionally get an idea for a new avatar and I try it out. I ditch most of them pretty quick.
A good avatar goes a long way. I like Eddy's, and Klos's latest is cool. Mayorbill11's is amusing (and pushes .gifs about as far as they should be pushed), and Giles' latest is interesting, too.
And then there's the stupid ones...

This one is my fourth. Snagged from Digital Blasphemy. I had to do a bit of editing to get the size and dimensions right, but it works.

This current one looked a bit mystic and surreal.
Some people have a short attention span, and/or can't make a decision. Therefore a constant change in avatars.

Eh, as with most people, I change it when I get sick of it... I try not to change it often though, since I know that people like to just look at an avatar and know who it is. 
I've had this one for quite a while now, but I'll be changing it as soon as GTP 5 comes along... in fact, I made several and will choose which one best matches GTP 5's new color scheme.

Anyway, I change my avatar because I get tired of having the same one for a extended period of time. An extended period of time for me is less than two weeks.

Haha, I sure dont have any aesthetic judgement. Because I usually think that my avatar looks stupid after a few days. So I change it, I suppose its really annoying for people who associate the pictures with the post content.
I must say that I realy want klos's old avatar with the strange teeth.
