Ok, recently I've been trying the Vettel challange again, this time with DS3. Because so many of you here were saying how difficult it is with a pad, I had to try and see. And I'm 100% sure, none of those who made this game tested it with DS3 before launch, especially when it comes to the Vettel challenge. Doesn't matter how you can get used to a pad, you can never finish two consecutive successful labs because your fingers get tired and really heart, especially your left thumb. Steering response and throttle adjustment can never be as accurate, quick and smooth as with a wheel. With a pad, I could only bronze them at my best. If I compare level of difficulty, I'll say getting bronze with a pad is like getting silver with a wheel. Considering most of us have DS3 only, this challenge shouldn't be in the game. This is a disaster. All companies put their pre-products on all kinds of tests so that they can correct any potential problems before they bring them out to the market. And PD didn't do what is so basic. Now with the 1.06 updates, PD increased bronze time a lot. And what's next? Increasing gold time to bronze time? Is this their way of admitting mistakes? I'm not even sure what they've been doing for the last five god damn years. I see a decade of reputation fading away at once.

So what you are saying is that a game is a FAIL because of one challenge?

Oh, well, now your back's gonna hurt, 'cause you just pulled landscaping duty. Anybody else's fingers hurt?... I didn't think so.

Monza is very possible to gold with DS3 - i am working on it, but have been ahead of the ghost as early as the end of sector 2 lap 1, and can maintain being ahead if sector 3 is done well.

Sure as heck ain't easy, but calling gt5 an epic fail because of 1 challenge at level 30 which the vast majority of people won't even reach (this matters because it's the target market) which is actually do-able, is quite a statement to be making.

No, it's not one thing that makes this game a fail. When you want to sell something to others it at least shoudn't have any major problems. The vettel challenge is the biggest challenge in the game and you just can't do it with DS3. Do you think it's a small problem to ignore?

PD realise that thus dropping the time required for bronze lower/easier for the DS3 users post v1.06.

Epic fail because of the Vettel Challenge? Your post is an epic fail.

I will never drive the X1 nor test out the Vettel Challenge, because I hate both. But that´s no reason to call GT5 an epic fail.

Most people wont get to Vettel anyway, only hardcore racers will. Then we got a challenge which isnt bad. It's not fun but not really bad neither, I like the concept behind the X2010, I find it very exciting, even more since Redbull and Vettel won F1 championship last year.

OH no... not another one....

- Remote Racing FTW!!! ;)

Lol, the game fails because you cant complete something. Good logic.

Yes, its a Simulator. This means it will be easier with wheels. But just because you cant do it with a Ds3 doesnt mean the game sucks, it menas you do.

Ok, my topic might be too harsh. If you finished the Vettel challenge with all golds using a pad, I will gladly accept your insults. But until then it's denied.

Why this thread is an epic fail 👍

Other than the fact that it is possible, what you're saying is:
A) The game should not include vehicles that are faster than the most common controller will easily allow you to control.
OR
B) The game should dumb down the physics so that all vehicles behave in a arcade-style manner that can be controlled without giving them your full concentration on the first play through.

👎

We don't need another NFS. Man up and be happy there's a challenge.

I already know that. But how many do you think can really acheive that? GT 5 is supposed to be a game for every hardcore car guys, not a game for a few gifted.

The Bronze is easy, the prize from bronze is the X1 car, so why does the GOLD need to be accessable to "I'm a hardcore car guy but i cant drive". All that does is gives you the false sense of achievement that you are actually skilled, while taking away all the challenge and fun for the guys who are actually pretty decent.

Of course, it's A. What X2010 is capable of in the game is beyond how fast humans can control DS3.

Sometimes it's better to know where your limits are. What is it with this culture of massaging everyone's ego - is it to offset the accusations of inadequacy from advertising?

If people aren't able or willing to invest in a wheel, or don't have the space for one, then it's a shame that they'll have a harder time getting the higher awards on this one challenge. But it doesn't break the game by any means.
