^^ That, or they actually want to be paid a respectable amount after paying their dues for so many years, and teams pass on them for cheaper almost as fast drivers. It is sometimes difficult to keep finding somewhat competitive decent paying rides. A lot of time the reward ends up not being enough to keep justifying the risk. These days racing budgets aren't what they used to be. A lot of people will race for peanuts or even pay for their ride. Hard to compete with free.
