I live in a city with 5 mil. and a very high concentration of expensive German luxury SUVs... and I feel like you'd be hard pressed to find any high street department store with a ps4pro and say an expensive Samsung HDR TV so you can see just what GT Sport is like in 4k HDR.

People here have already said that 10-bit colour and HDR makes a big diffference to your driving... you can see deeper further and hence you should be faster.

I'd put it like this... I'm faster in GT Sport on Le Mans on a plain ps4 and an FHD TV over the same in Forza... I cant pinpoint why but I feel like its easier to see into corners and whatnot.

Hdr makes you faster.. Right. If something id say ps4 pro on 1080p without supersampling might make improvement due to frame rate.

Like i've said in another thread , hdr make me slower at least with less precision in my wheel inputs due to the bigger lag with hdr . That's why i play 1080 p on my normal PS4 . Lag of answer time in my inputs are a lot quicker. But still not perfect anyway. I think it must be a priority to fix it for PD

HDR = easy on eyes..4k == too bright

This doesn't make sense. The two main draws of HDR is expanded color palette and more intense whites and blacker blacks. I have a Sony HDR TV that barely gets to 500 nits (half of the true HDR specification) but the sun, brake lights, head lights, jeez even the LED blue/green/yellow electric flag signs in low light conditions make me squint just like in real life.

HDR is fantastic and GTS is one of the best HDR apps out there, not just in gaming, but in the whole audiovisual industry. But I really don't get your comment about easy on the eyes...

Comparing to IRL, hdr is a game changer for me..the sky look like a normal bland boring sky, and the grass color too

I bought a TCL 55S405 for my spare room specifically so I could play GTS in HDR (on ps4 pro). Made my choice based on its high ratings for low latency, HDR capability and PRICE. Less than $400 for a 55" 4k HDR Roku tv? Very satisfied. It won't compete with a $1000 OLED but it's very pretty. When I turn off the HDR (bc I want to use psvr) and it switches to the supersampling it seems like the colors have more pop but not necessarily in a good way. Kind of looks like the "dynamic" setting that stores put tvs on to make them look more colorful and vibrant than normal viewing modes. At least that's what if feels like to me. As far as latency, you have to research bc some tvs are much better than others. All in all, this is a beautiful game and I like my tv.

HDR is prettier, however when you're constantly admiring the sky and pretty colors you'll run into someone sooner or later

Screen size or distance to screen matters more. I've always performed better while sitting closer or when playing on a projector. Some night tracks are indeed easier in HDR than in SDR as it can be hard to see the road. Or you can simply increase the exposure in the settings and night time Nordschleife looks like day time.

The game looked best on my old crappy tv when I was racing with a fever. Cheap high without the drive impairing effects, pretty colors!

Can GTS runs at 4k hdr? When i turn on hdr it turn to 1080/60.
What kind of TV you on lol?

I'm do it just fine. You need a PS4 Pro to play it on 4K.

The signal will cut off for a short time to switch into HDR. Doesnt meant it changes the resolution.

I say keep the HDR unless you really carve into eliminating hard amount of milliseconds of lag. The contrast it provides really worth it.

On the other hand, the 4K produces far more stutter and lag and the benefits aren't worth it. I use 4K TV yet I dont do gameplay on my 4K unless the game itself runs at 30fps, which GTSport is not. It seems GTSport is designed with 1080p in mind but Sony demanded the inclusion of 4K.

To easily compare, try seeing the pre-race menu on 1080P VS 4K. 4K makes the framerate dips sometimes into under 30fps, while 1080p is always at 60fps. And theres input lag...

I use 4k HDR at home, I love it and I barely notice a difference in input lag. Input lag will be more dependant on your TV than whatever settings your game uses.

Its not terrible so you're not noticed it. Search on Youtube for what is input lag.
