In case anyone else is having the same problem here's a Solution for Windows 10 update error code: 80240020 that worked for me.:)

Go to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download and delete all files in that Download folder. Do not delete the Download folder though.

Open Command Prompt as admin and type this command
wuauclt.exe/updatenow

Go to windows update and you should see it will begin to download Windows 10
I heard that many people fail for doing that.

Dont do this. Let it naturally or use the ISO.

As far as I know, it's complicated. The Windows 10 that we get today is the upgrade DVD. Install Windows 7 on the SSD first with all of the updates and then install Windows 10.

I made a Windows 10 boot drive on my USB and was able to install Windows 10 onto my SSD. But now I have two Windows 10 installations, so I can't activate Windows 10 on my SSD but it is activated on my HDD.

Got it installed, aaand the nvidia drivers wont install.

Got the latest ones before upgrading too, but they werent taken in use.

Got it installed and honestly, all is good for me. Seems like overall, its more streamlined. Nothing wrong on my end.
I've had it since this morning, no bugs, nothing like what people have been complaining about.

People always have to find something and say its this or that. That it should be better. Whatever,

Runs as slick as a greased bum. It just doesn’t want to activate at the moment.

Edit.

After 20 tries it activated. Good times. Now to find the product key for the clean install.

Honestly what's next? Someone asking if any computer with Windows 10 can run Gran Turismo 6?

Everything should be fine, I updated two computers and I'm not noticing anything missing yet.

So. I need a bit of help, im attempting to install Win10 on my laptop.

I created my own installation media using a USB flash drive. Used the MediaCreationTool.exe to make a boot basically on my USB, i plug in go to setup and make it boot to the USB.

But then it sits like this.

Should i just wait out? And see if it loads?

It should go into a blue screen shortly afterwards.

How long has it been sitting there? Thats the loading screen for 10, so it could just be loading everything from the USB before continuing with the install.

So now that I'm at 75% installed, once it's finished will I be able to play GT6 on my PC?
I've had the developer preview since the beginning of the year, and I've totally been playing a GT on it ever since; so yes!

Fresh install activates without entering a product key, as long as you first installed the upgrade and then do the clean install with the same version Win10 as the upgrade.

It works fine for me. Nvidia Win7 drivers still works.

Looks like it was a good choice to move to 10.

My Windows 7 laptop upgraded without a hitch, but my Windows 8.1 gaming PC isn't. It's downloaded all of the files but Windows Update keeps coming up with Failed beside the Windows 10 update.

I've tried doing the tricks like update troubleshooter, clearing the download directory, performing disk cleanup, it's now downloaded the files a second time, but it still keeps coming up as Failed.

I then downloaded the Media Creation Tool and tried to do the update that way and it just comes up with Something Happened. Great help Microsoft.

I've made an ISO and I've read that even if you do a clean install you can enter your windows 8.1 licence key to activate it. I'd like to confirm that before I go and do a clean install.

Quick question, my laptop has Windows 10 32 bit on it because it upgraded from Windows 7 32 bit. Can I perform a clean install on it and choose to install the 64 bit version using the licence? My laptop has 4 Gb of RAM with only 2.99Gb usable so I'd like to upgrade to 64 bit to make it use all of my RAM.

Everyone is talking about their nvidia drivers, and I'm just sitting here with my AMD card.

So does all my stuff (files, music, pictures etc) gets deleted when I upgrade or naw ?

Not if you choose to keep your files. All my content shows up and some of it (like my pictures) were starting to appear in the Photos sections upon startup.

Welp i guess Windows 10, does not like my laptop, guess ill be sticking to Windows 7, also. Is is worth it to upgrade my gaming desktop to win 10?
