Windows will be gone, but there will be a new thing called Doors®

It will be a Software as a Service, meaning that, like adobe, it will only be receiving updates rather than getting a new version in the future.

HOWEVER,

Be remind that some update may changed so much it may look like an update from W8 to W10. Plus this plan isnt really a final one.

It simply means the original version will cease support at that date. Service packs or 10.1 or sich is longer.

I see. That makes sense then. I was thinking it's not really realistic for them to call it the last OS ever when technology will always improve (exponentially I might add). Using service packs make sense.

On another note, I finally upgraded from 8.1 to 10 last night. Man seeing the Start menu back is like a homecoming :D As far as I can see everything is in the right place. I was thinking of doing a clean install but if things goes well for a month or so I might leave it as it is. My only complaint is booting up takes a bit longer than 8.1, but once it's on everything else is faster so I can live with that.

Just downgraded back to Windows 7, i was getting incompatibility problems with Windows 10, many of Old Games and programs is always having problems or don't install on Windows 10, some of my games on Steam didn't started too.

still having problems with my screen brightness not being able to go up and down. I feel like I'm burning my retinas...

Edit:
So i just rolled back to a windows basic driver for my display adapters, and now it shows the brightness tab increasing and decreasing, yet it doesn't do anything at all... It still maintains brightness (WTF!!!!)...

Edit 2: All works fine now... found a different dated driver and everything works.

Now I just need to figure out how to completely reset my fonts..

Since the update, my screen will flicker and go crazy maybe two or three times per day, requiring me to close the lid and re-open it in order for things to get back to normal. It's quite annoying and I haven't heard of anyone else having this problem.

When MS ran this campaign it left some people saying... "But how can you have the Windows without the Walls?!"

I decided to go ahead and go back to 8.1, since everything works better there.
I currently have 8.1 and am in no hurry to upgrade. Especially since I've heard that W10 will block use to items you may have downloaded illegally. Since I don't have cable I download TV shows all the time, but I do purchase movies and music.

Not for me. Where did you heard that?

I suffered my first lock-up and restart with Windows 10 earlier tonight. But it wasn't like I suffered this with regularity in my 8.1 days, though. It was basically Opera screwing up something probably Flash or Java related to where the error occured. However, I am not going to say that I want to return to Windows 8.1. Still fairly happy with this package and still have a fairly positive experience with Windows 10.

Question to all, since I'm curious. Do you guys have Windows 10 on a laptop, or a desktop? And is it a touchscreen or not?

Windows 10 will continue to work if you have pirated games

The only things that will not work correctly are microsoft services like Xbox live, Zune marketplace(if it still exists) and so forth, this only applies to microsoft games.

Laptop, touchscreen too..

Why?
I installed W10 on my laptop, which has a touchscreen, so I was thinking that the problem that I had earlier had to do with the fact that it was touchscreen, as my other family computers (which aren't touchscreen) had it installed and they worked perfectly.

nope, all works fine on this one. I actually seldom use the touch aspect of my laptop.

I've also got a touchscreen laptop which I upgraded to W10. Works like a charm for me. Aside from some issues with the touchscreen itself, but that's a hardware issue.

Regarding the disabling of pirated games: From my knowledge, this only extends to games actually published by Microsoft themselves.

I am seriously impressed by the start up time of Win10. Finally got around to upgrade my moms pc, think it's a Intel Quad 9400 or something, but it's almost as if there is a SSD inside.

I found the same when getting around to upgrading the kids pc, very impressive.
Not far behind my pc with a ssd as the os drive.

My start up time was not that much improved I think. Although after proper clean install will be probably.

I got a "Start Menu and Cortana are not working" error earlier today upon signing in. After Windows downloaded updates to my PC, this has been resolved. I can only hope I can use the Start Menu and Action Center efficiently so that I don't have to constantly worry about if the Start Menu will actually work.

4 weeks after launch and Windows 10 is running on 75 million devices. And that 75 million are divided by 90000 different unique systems.
