Their is definitely another Viper race car, I remember it being black with red stripes. Pity theirs no Viper RM as well, it would make the field interesting :(
 
I think you guys are splitting hairs with the PP deal. 606 or 623? What the horsepower difference there? I think the cars will run just fine either way. They handle better with lower PP anyway. I think we should be more worried about the Supra lapping us all. Lol. We're going to get this series going and then everyone will be complaining about the Supra's pace. Seems like a little more testing should have been conducted. Ya know, hot laps sessions, mock races, etc. Either way, I'm pretty sure we can come up with a replacement for the Falcon. There is no other Viper race car, by the way.
 
We need to confirm the cars:

So far the Falcon has been dropped, that leaves us with the Supra, Corvette, Viper and Camaro.

These will all work at 623 as originally stated.

I would like to start doing set up and practice work but I need to know if any others cars may be included.

What I have also done is Race Mod a standard corvette from the dealerships, I drove it last night, seemed good and I like the look of it....can I use this one?

Lets confirm this and get some practice rooms going guys.
 
Well if we're going to replace the Falcon we should do it now so we can test the replacement car properly :)
The practice sessions, moc races and qualifying sessions we have run so far have shown the cars to be pretty even actually, so if we don't come up with a replacement car I'm sure the series will be great anyway.
But hopefully we can finalize the lineup before the weekend so the guys can start working on setups and so on :)

May I ask which 'Vette you RM'd?

At 623 PP, I think the Z06 is a better choice than the ZR1. Unlimited, the ZR1 will eat the Z06 alive, simply due to the horsepower difference. At 623 PP, I think the Z06 would be the better weapon due to it's lighter weight. (both being RM'd)

An added bonus would be that the RMs could be painted to help team mates identify each other on the track.
 
The Z06 is lighter and has more bhp than the Viper, looks like we're gonna have our hands full Byo, the Z06 is fast! Don't think it's the Supra everyone should be worrying about...... lol
 
I don't think we should worry about changing the vette. We need to.come up with some replacement idea for the falcon.
 
Not interested in joining, but I want to thank you for creating a series that involves an interesting and mixed lineup. In a world of one-make racing, LMS, NASCAR and Super GT... you are a scholar!

After extensive testing tonight and several months ago (I was planning a series just like this) here are some suggestions. The list is in order of best option to worst.

These are the 2 best:
Zonda LM Race Car
Fairlady Z Concept LM

M3 GTR

These are a little heavy kg:
Nomad Diablo GT-1 (1200kg)
R8 LMS (1300 kg)
Falken GT-R (13? kg)

The only one of these cars that I tested tonight was the Zonda. It was putting up lap times comparable to the Vette. Plus I thought the body style fit this group of cars the best. I think the Zonda could replace the Falcon right now. The other cars are listed just in case we think replacing the Supra is in order. Its up to you guys but I have a feeling the Supra will become a problem.

I've always been a fan of car restrictions being PP rather than weight/horsepower. Much closer racing. But sometimes the PP can be off a little when it come to weight. Seems to me that when a car is heavier but has more horsepower it still struggles to keep pace with the lighter/less HP cars.
 
The Zonda sounds like a good idea..... let's see what Homes thinks, it's his series and his final decision to make lol........ we'll just try confuse him a bit. But thanks for all the testing.
The Z06 RM Vet has more bhp and is lighter mmmmmmm....... but it's a very cool car!
 
I think the R8 LMS is a good car to be introduced. Zuat ran with it on Sunday and it seemed to be on pace with the rest of the cars....

It seems to fit in with most of the cars: 5.2l, V10....

Yep, I think the Viper is the car to have. You really have to squeeze everything out of the Supra to get a good lap...Does not have much in reserve like all the others.....
 
I think I've got the Audi...... let me compare it to the Viper and see, I remember it being quite a cool car to drive.
 
I just went more than 2 seconds a lap faster at Fuji in the Audi R8 LMS Race Car than my fastest lap in my Viper , which may I say I've done a bit of set up on. Ran both cars now, couldn't smell the Audi in my Viper. Definitely NOT an option, the Audi is way to fast! :)
 
Yo boys, that Lm Audi is the car of choice, good bhp, great handling and good top end. I had not done any real setups with it on sunday and it is competitive. I think in Canu or 101 's hands it will be deadly, not to mention scale. Plus with the Audi, you are not running anywhere near 100% power, so with a bit of tuning, downforce etc, you can negate downforce with a different suspension and increase the bhp by a good 50 odd - this would put it near the 650 to 680 range
 
Yeh unfortunately anyone who runs with it will clean up, it's a bit to fast. Was testing the Lamborghini GT1..... half a second quicker per lap and seriously fast in a straight line. Well over 310kph down Fuji straight. Probably also to fast for the other 4 cars :(
 
I have tested the Audi R8 and the Lamborghini Nomad diabalo too.

The Audi is just too fast (although the setup needs to be adjusted more than the other cars when you change track).

The Lambo is quite appealing though. When I ran it at 615pp I was getting similar lap times to the other cars although I think it will still dominate at the long flowing tracks. Definitely worth a test though. Anybody free for some final testing this sunday at 20h00 gmt? :)
 
Homes, I will come and test with you on sunday. I have been exploring other options as well. The car i really want is the R390 Race car. The problem is that it is a 3.5 v8. The real problem is this, at 623 pp, it has about about 100 bhp less than the other cars, but is quicker than the LM Audi around high speed ring by at least 2 seconds. Unfortunately it aint a 5.0 litre, but if it were set at say 550 to 600 bhp, that car would kick arse. The DTM cars are just not quick enough, so the Opel and Merc won't cut it against the American muscle. You know that there is one alternative, you could consider a Le Man Prototype series, just a thought. The Dodge ACR is also a beast, not a RM model, but can be set up to handle like a RM. Problem is that it will have somewhere in the region of 800 to 900 bhp, this alone would make it too powerful
 
I think the 4 cars we have already are cool, and the series is cool. It would be perfect if we could find an equal 5th car, but it's not the end of the world if we don't.
I also think it's more important for one person to test all the cars, cause as soon as you test different cars using different drivers that run a different pace, then the testing isn't accurate and is pointless.
I'm going to test a few options on my own and I'll post the results. We should all do the same and see if we can help Homes find that illusive 5th option :)
 
Agree with you, the Lambo and Audi are too fast. The 5th car could be the RM C5, thats also quite a good racing option. I will have a look at my collection and see. What about the CLK GTR thingy, thats also quite good and you should get penalised on the power, but still have good handling. But the 4 we have are good enough for the series. I will probably go with the Corvette or the Supra, although tyre wear on the supra is an issue
 
Hi guys. I have been quite busy lately and things are looking hectic for me, I really want to do this series but also don't want to disapoint my team mate if I can't make a few races . I think its better if I am rather a reserve driver just in case because I am still settling into my new job and the hours are long.
I'm really sorry Canu. If there is enough space on race nights and I am online I still would like to race but obviously I don't want to take up a full time slot.
 
Come teammate just race....... I'll send you the setup before the race, all you have to do is pitch up and ride shot gun lol. Just do it!!!!!

possibly the race on 12th february i will not run because it's the last race on JGTS championship where i am competing
