Would do you take part in an online endurance race?

I'd do it as long as there were penalties given to poo heads that ram into you etc. I hate that so much, it's ever so childish and ruins the fun of Online racing. I wouldn't do it for 24 hrs though, maybe just a 2 or 3 hour Enduro.

Semi-offtopic> if anyone is interested in Endurance Races (2.45hour length) with latest and greatest rFactor Endurance mod, check this site out: www.endurancefactory.de (its German but english sections are also available).

You can race with 50ppl online, all 4 classes (GT2,GT1,LMP2,LMP1). Registration open, 30% free slots still available.

Or, when you do one of these online races, you get a team of friends (or even friends online who would take over if possible!!!) to takes shifts every pitstop or hour ect. I'd do it, but not for 24 hours. possibly the max: 3 and there would have to be a massive prize in games credits as usual

Absolutely not. I have a life. Didn't touch the endurance races in GT4. They need to be dropped from GT5 and all future GT games. Does PD honestly think gamers have the time or patience to sit at a games console for over 5 hours? Get real.

I too have never run a full 24 hour endurance race in GT4 as I didn't see any reason to, but with an online option for other drivers to jump in and drive for their stint, yeah I could see that happening.

Just to let you know, last week we at Team SMART had a small (what we call) endurance race at Nurburgring for 10 laps.
I was over an hour and what a great time.
This was at the end of our 5 hour long LAN session which is the 3 of us in the same setups (with some breaks) for the whole time. I/we have done LAN every Sunday morning for about 2 years.
No endurance race by most standards but it was great to keep the concentration up and I could easily see me joining an endurance race as Team SMART with our 3 - 5 drivers for an 24 hour race.
It would really be great to get teams together for such events.

So some of us do have the patience and time to enjoy such races, though not all of us.

So yeah, 24 hours with other drivers in the same car, as endurance races are. 👍

For those who don't have the time/patience to participate in an endurance race PD created B-spec.
And for those who do have the time/patience and really enjoy driving a full endurance race possibly with likeminded friends should be able to.
Just because you claim to "have a life" doesn't mean it therefor needs to be dropped.
GT is for a wide audience, claiming something needs to be removed to suit your needs is frankly missing the point by quite a margin.
Some people prefer other things and live other lives than you, you can always choose not to drive those events, why deny other people the opportunity to make a different choice?
