Would YOU do this?

eSZee
I don't see anyone saying he was drunk. Just numbnuts jumping to conclusions.

This. They just want attention. It just makes me respect the courage of this man even more.

Wow, that's amazing. I honestly doubt I'd have had the courage to do something like that, but you never really do know until it happens.

Thumbs up to the man's bravery. I would probably just call the cops then try to intervene and get the living daylights beaten out of me.

I would try, but no doubt in my mind would I be killed. On the otherside though, my dad did stop someone from raping another person. Thankfully he was unarmed.

Very brave indeed. Annoys how some people on the original thread are dismissing it as a lie straight off by finding things to pick at and saying it doesn't make "perfect sense", just because they want it to be a lie. No story ever makes perfect sense unless someone intends it to.

And to answer the OP's question, I honestly don't know, though in a situation like that, I have the idea that I'd just drop everything, start humming the A-Team tune in my head and go absolutely 🤬 mental.

If only.

Touch a woman in that manner and you always deserve whats coming to you.

A great story in a rather dull world involving guns and knives. What cowards anyway.... having to carry heat to insure they get some. The police should put bullets in their heads there and then and hang them from the lamp-posts to send a message across.

Big well done to that Guardian Angel lol, he got away lucky but by god what a story he has to tell!!

EDIT: I've always ran these scenarios in my head and while not on the same wave length I did react in the way I wanted to at the scene of a car accident not so long ago. I've always told myself from a young age that I'd be happy dying for someone. And that stands true to this day

Whoa! Crazy story and that gash is huge. Hope he fully recovers, he deserves it after an act like that.

Edit: Would I do this? Knowing myself, i'd probably call the cops first.... Usually when this type of stuff happens I'm the guy that freezes and watches, instead of taking action...

@Moot: seriously. Starting that. He may be leagally on meds, and below the legal limit of alcohol.
He saved a woman from beeing raped that's what I get from the story. You get : a drunk drive, should have died, Seriously??!!

Kudos to the man.

Where was this happening btw?

I don't know what I would do. Depends on the situation. At very least call the cops if not intervention. In my country, arms weren't an issue 5-8 years back, you had a brawl, got home with a broken nose and that was it. Now the chavs are starting to arm themselves, so I would be more than cautious nowadays. And in a brawl, the simply can't stop even if lying on the ground. So lame.

Had a friend, who got stabbed 10 times, in my hometown, in the adomen because he didn't want to "lend" a euro to some chavs. 1 ****ing €. He was holding his intestins for 1€!

But I also saw helping go rather wrong. A few months ago, a guy wanted to help a lady in front of a club, because she was getting aggressed. Well he took a serious beating of the agressor, his friend, and the agressed lady.
They all got sentenced, but if that is the outcome of helping,...

So would I help?
probably just call the cops first, observe what happens, and just intervene in the last second, armed with whatever i can find,... stick, stone, snickers warper,...

A very good example, indeed. And I'm not sure of myself if I could do the same thing. I wish he could recover soon, since he deserves it.

Amazing story, if I'd know that I'd survive and recover from it I might of done it, but including the pain :/

An incredible story!

It is very easy to say "yes absolutely I would have done the same thing", but in truth no one knows until placed in that situation as its a split second decision with very little time to apply realistic thought to implications or consequences. I think a vast majority would realise that someones life is in danger, or at the very least a life destroying torment. I'd like to think though that put in the situation that I would help straight away and realise any consequences later.

Well done to him.

He does seem abit oblivious to danger though. The doctors told me not to drive but I did, they told me not to take the bandage off, but I did. :dunce:

This dude has balls. He deserves a medal or somethin.

Yea, drunken your balls grow. But really, great story about a nowadays hero. 👍

He protected not only her physical condition, also her psychical condition, which is (mostly) more important.

But I wouldn't have given her the keys for my car, the husband would maybe be the better choice. :)

i wouldve tried my best to help
i always keep a 5 inch switchblade on me in case **** gets real
in my town gangs messed everything up and kids get jumped just for wearing the wrong colors in parts of town so for me its a must
but i probably wouldve smashed a stone over the first guys head or something to prevent scum like his type to keep moving again
as for getting cut he is like the man slash not stabbed him
i have been both slashed and stabbed in a jumping and i must say even sober it doesnt really hurt that bad after 10 seconds or so because of the MASSIVE amounts of adrenaline your body pumps to the cut
but to stay on topic yes i would do it.
if you die you die right?
might as well die know as a hero rather then die unkown

Great guy, a hero for sure. Should be more guys like him around.

On doing the same, well, as long as I didn't know the guys are armed, then yes, I would and did. The one time I did though, it was one guy, he was alone and seemed unarmed and luckily, he was indeed. And pretty drunk to boot, so I got out of it unscathed, as did the girl.

But, if I saw 2 guys, probably even armed, I'd probably call the cops... Dunno whether I'd have the guts to jump in... But, after having had a girlfriend that was raped herself, it's kidna hard to turn away from stuff like that...

I was waiting for that.

As soon as I read the end of the forum and people were debating whether it was fake or not, you know he's been caught out.

Still, he fooled many of us, abit of a **** for lieing, however it looked pretty convincing.

I'm abit dissapointed that it wasnt real, but still, good conversation maker.

Just as someone said in the Fake link thread forum, a good bit of creative writing.
So what if he made it up, it's a story, something to read and think about.
It gave me an opinion to disagree with other forum posters in this thread.
Good stuff. Presenting an event and personal involvement, rather than just making a "What if" discussion topic.

He had me sold... very well done for pulling the wool over our eyes.

Let me go get my Machete for a little revenge...

What is the world coming to when people just believe everything they read on an internet forum? There was always too many things wrong with that story.

Although I do think I take it too far the other way and don't believe anything anyone tells me unless I either trust them, or have experienced it for myself, or have experience of it. I am quite the empiricist.

With so much hoax and fraud going on, I really don't blame you. Looking at the photo, it's obvious his injuries are fake. Released from hospital after getting shot so soon? Unlikely.
