And just in case Van, you forgot another badass and respectable concept car.....Mazda Furai.

👍
^ The problem with the Furai is that it was a
pure racing car. And unlike the Mazda, the two I mentioned are already legit for road use.
The Vanishing Boy - I've definitely considered the cost of maintaining an old Porsche. From a cost standpoint, they also have the benefit of being one of the few cars that are now appreciating while being new enough to run on unleaded fuel and being fairly efficient about it (as opposed to, say, 60s muscle cars). But I wouldn't go for the 930 turbo and instead opt for the good old, naturally aspirated, air-cooled 911. (Of course the 944 has a water cooled engine up front, but I'd chose a NA engine there, too).
^ I didn't say that you need to get a 930 Turbo (although it would e terrifyingly cool if you do). I keep on calling that bodystyle a 930 simply to keep myslef on track. Any 930 N/A ups the cool factor, although the 944 S (which my mom used to own a very rare Turbo Cabrio) is much more practical and nostalgic ('80s era imports).
As for the FR-S or BRZ, I'd most likely get the Scion because there's an excellent dealer in my area, whereas all but one of the Subaru dealers are run by a chain with very sleazy business practices. The only other dealer is very small and was sold to another local chain a bit ago. I don't know about them, but I did e-mail and ask about the availability of BRZs a while back. Their response was essentially forget it, unless I was willing to pay more over MSRP than anyone else, then they might see what they could do.
^ That is
the only downside about the BRZ, Subie dealers always have a knack of conning you a whole lot! Infact, our NPR station doesn't even mention the BRZ on our
Subaru of Las Vegas ads!!! Unless you get a BRZ on Carmax.

1981 LANCIA ZAGATO $4500-$5000
E21 BMW Baur $5500
^
I'd take the E21 Baur, at least I have the confidence of driving it every day. Looking at the Zagato, it seems it's falling apart already!
Would You Rather:
'01 Volkswagen W12 Coupe Concept
or
'05 Saleen S7 Twin Turbo
^ Why would I get a car that is not intended for production? Other than to impress Pebble Beach!? No thanks!
I'll pick the S7TT, the only chore for it is to find one and buy one!
Turbo diesel wagons
BMW 535d M Sport Touring
Jaguar XF 3.0D S Sportbrake
Mercedes CLS 350 CDI Shooting Brake
^ It's a hard pick between the Bimmer and the Jaaaaaggggg. But
I can opt for a 6-speed M/T on the Bimmer, so
the M-Sport is my choice!
I'ill say for me it would be
2014 Chevy Silverado high county 62K
Or
2014 chevy Impala LTZ 26,729-42k
^ The Impala seems to be incomplete/unfinished in my book.
I'd pick the Silverado.
Okay How bout a
2013 chevy cruze LTZ RS MSRP 17k
Or
2013 Chevy Sonic RS 14k
^
I'd pick the Sonic, It's more tossable/fun everyday plus it's hatch makes it more practical. The Cruze is a quiet borefest. 👎
Here's one; 2011 Models:
2011 BMW (E92) M3 GTS for $130,000
2011 Porsche (997) 911 Turbo for $122,000
2011 Aston Martin V8 Vantage N420 Coupe for $133,000
^ If that Aston doen't have the V12, forget it! Plus that E92 is only DCT only, ugh!
I'd go the 997 anyday! It can be a daily driven badass anyday, anywhere, at anyplace! Plus a 6M/T make it more desirable and more fun! 👍
OK here one
2014 GMC Sierra Denali
Or
Chevrolet Silverado High County
^
To me, the Sierra always win compared to the Silverado. Even if it's the same truck, the GMC is always pleasing to the eyes. While every Silverado (except the GMT400 & the post-facelift GMT800) are exquisitely ghastly!!!
