May I ask why a 5.0L V8 is being compared with a 2.3L I4, with a 100hp difference? Both are pretty much the same type of car.

I'd pick the Egoist and the 911 Turbo, and that is despite the Cayman's newfound capabilities. I prefer the looks of the 997, and it's a Turbo.

HKS-D1-86-24.jpg

I know the HKS 86 isn't exactly the best for this comparison but I couldn't really find anything else to suit, and in every other criteria the standard 86 pales in comparison.

HPP Superbird vs. Porsche 911 S/C vs. HDT VK Retro Group A "Blue Meanie" vs. Pininfarina Stratos vs. Eagle Speedster vs. HKS GT86 Drift Car - Eagle Speedster for beauty and performance.

The Eagle and the Porsche are the only ones that don't look ridiculous.
I would have the Eagle, because it looks awesome.

Here is a better picture, with a front view.
_JL34934.jpg

To be fair, Stratos aside, the cars the rest are interpreting were also kind of "ridiculous" to look at. The reasoning behind my comparison is more to do with which heritage and overall build appeals more to people rather than outright styling.

In my case, that'll be the Stratos.

Ooh, that's tough. I love both the Stratos and Eagle. In the end, I'd rather have the gorgeous Eagle Speedster.

May I ask why a 5.0L V8 is being compared with a 2.3L I4, with a 100hp difference? Both are pretty much the same type of car.

I picked the best options for each car. I was waiting for people to take the vega in favor of swapping in ls1s. I was going to pick an I6 for the maverick but I sai screw it.

911, Ford, and Egal.

911: Looks better to me.

Ford: don't really like either but I'll choose the ford.

Egal: because its a modern E Type.

Porsche Cayman S, new and well optioned, £55,000, plus your choice of wheels, colour, and transmission

OR

This exact 997 Turbo Tiptronic, 13,500 miles
^ That Tiptronic really made my tongue very sour. I configured the 981 Cayman just the way I wanted and I ended up £15K more than the 997. Even with that dent, its going to worth it every mile! So the 981 S then!

Ford Maverick Grabber 5.0L 302 V8

Power: 210 @ 3,400rpm
Torque: 300 @ 1,800rpm
Weight: 2,600lbs
Transmission: 4 speed manual

Will bark the tires through 3rd gear stock. Plenty of point A-B power.

OR

Chevy Vega GT L-11 2300 2.3L Inline 4

Horsepower: 110 @ 5,400rpm
Torque: 138 @ 4,800rpm
Weight: 2,700
^ After seeing the Maverick up close and now seeing that figure. The Grabber is my choice! No contest!

I'm not trying to make you feel bad, but multiple people have told you time and time again that you shouldn't choose multiple cars in a comparison. The title is Would You Rather, which implies that you need to make a decision between the cars specified. Clearly it hasn't sunk in, so perhaps a definition of the word rather would be of help to you.

rath·er
/ˈraT͟Hər/
Adverb
Used to indicate one's preference in a particular matter: "would you like some wine, or would you rather stick to sherry?".
Exclamation
Used to express emphatic affirmation, agreement, or acceptance: "“You are glad to be home, aren't you?” “Rather!”".
Synonyms
quite - pretty - somewhat - preferably

So, whenever you reply to this thread again, be sure to keep the definition of rather in your mind, and know that you need to narrow your choice down to one, and only one car. Thanks.

Ok, I'll stop requesting every car out there after that last move. :guilty: For now on, one car.

Bodyguard
My turn. Would you rather have a:

Lotus 2-eleven:

or a

Lotus 340r:

or an

Ariel Atom:

or a

Caterham Superlight R500:

or a

KTM XBOW:

I realise that these cars may not be similar in terms of price, but I thought that they would make a good comparo because of their similar performance figures.

The Lotuses are alright, but the serious ones are the KTM, R500 and Atom. But I'll take the R500, because power-to-weight. And if you want more power, add a supercharger. ;)👍

Would you rather Have

2013 Chevy Sonic RS- 138 horsepower -148 lb.-ft.

Or an 2013 Ford Fiesta ST-197 horsepower -202 lb.-ft. of torque.

Me I am A Chevrolet guy so I would have to pick the sonic,

I'll take the Fiesta ST and paint it like the Sonic RS pictured and some modifications as well. 👍

Xavier2342
Would You Rather:

2007 Mercedes-Benz SLR 722 Edition

OR

2008 Spyker C8 Aileron

Hmmmm.... I'll go with the C8, because rarity and unique.

Luxury Sedans:

2014 Kia Cadenza; FF; $38,900 (My pick. Such elegant styling.)

OR

2014 Infiniti Q50; RWD; $39,550

OR

2013 BMW 328i xDrive Sedan; AWD; $38,850

Tough one, but the Kia combined with FWD is like the Camry and the Impala, it doesn't fit the cars they're not compact sedans IMO. So it is between the BMW and Infiniti, so I'll take the Q50, because VQ. 👍

Custom878
Would you rather?

GT-R Spec V - $160000

Or

GT-R Egoist - $150000

Hmmmm.... I like them both, but I'll take the Spec V since it's lighter and faster. And I can add some of the Egoist's lights to the Spec V as well. 👍

997 Turbo Tiptronic for me.

The Maverick easily and fix her up as a 10 second car and a monster on the track, versatile can be amazing on a muscle car. 👍

A tough one here! Hmmmm, well I'll take the 911 SC, because 997 C2 turns into classic 911s.

Superbird vs. 911 vs. "Blue Meanie" vs. Stratos vs. Eagle Speedster vs. HKS GT86

Dayum. I'd be happy with any, with an exception to the HPP Superbird. Gah, that thing looks like a beached whale. :yuck:

Don't get me wrong, I like the original, but, it's just. :ill:

Anyways, back to the topic, I think I'll go for the Eagle Speedster. Seems like a car that you can simply enjoy, similar to the Singer 911.

👍

Brand New Porsche Cayman S vs. Used Porsche 997 Turbo Tiptronic

I'd much rather have the used 997 Turbo

Maverick Grabber vs. Vega GT

Even if both cars had V8's or equal horsepower ratings, I'd rather have the Maverick, especially in that color.

Custom/Tunned Retro From Around The World

Of all these cars, I'd rather have the '11 Eagle Speedster. Since I first began to learn more about this car in Forza 3, I've loved the Jaguar E-Type ever since.

2003_dodge_neon_sedan_srt-4_fq_oem_1_500.jpg

Mazdaspeed vs. SRT4

Mazda. I don't think reliability on Dodges is very good compared to Mazdas, and I prefer the looks of the Mazda. Would look great with a nice drop and set of wheels.

Porsches: Turbo. No questions asked.

GT-Rs: Spec-V. The more hardcore, the better.

Tuners: Stratos. Short wheelbase coupled to a 500hp Ferrari powertrain will test a driver's mettle.

Protege vs Neon: Protege please. The Neon looks ghastly and is far too overhyped.

Cadenza VS Q50 VS 328i

Interesting, a full size car, a midsize car (albeit borderline, really), and a compact car here, in that respective order. The 328i is out, because while I'm a fan of the F30 3-Series, I'd prefer the six cylinder 335i. The Kia's a pretty nice car, even with that odd grille it has. The interior's very nice as well, while definitely a conservative design compared to other modern interiors, actually reminds me of an Infiniti interior. Funnily enough, the Q50's interior reminds me of that of a Hyundai Sonata's, which isn't good because I don't like the styling of the Sonata's interior. Sure the Q50's a pretty attractive car exterior-wise, but I'm gonna be sitting inside the car most of the time, not looking at it from a distance, and as such, I want a nice interior. For that reason I'd take the Cadenza, with its nicer interior and classy exterior. Sure it's not as interesting to drive, but as a daily driver, it'd do very well.

Cayman VS 911 Turbo

The 911 would be hella fun to drive, but it's just not a very exciting car outside, or inside as far as looks go. The new Cayman is very strong in the looks department, and like any new Porsche, it has a beautiful interior. Combine this with a mid engined layout that's sure to make things more lively, as well as steering that's regarded as the best in the business by more than a few, and you've got yourself a very attractive sports car.

Mazdaspeed Protege VS Neon SRT-4

I like the first generation Dodge Neon. Safe, luxurious and refined it was not, but if you're looking for a quirky, fun to drive little runabout, the original Neon was and still is (albeit for much less money now) a great choice. Much like the Ford Focus, the Neon lost its original flare and became more muted in its second iteration. Sure it was safer, more luxurious (relatively), and more refined, but you don't see car guys looking back all misty eyed on second generation Neons. You could say that the SRT-4 brought back the fun to drive factor, but it was a much faster, much more serious car in a way that the original wasn't intended to be. Unlike the old Neon R/T, the SRT-4 looked downright ricey from the factory. The Protege's never been a car that I've looked at and said "hey, that's cool", but it's also not something I've ever wanted to point and laugh at in the streets. I have a very neutral opinion of it. Neutral's always better than negative, so I'll take the Protege.

I'll have the Lexus. It'll likely be the most comfortable and most relaxing to drive.

'95 Acura Legend LS Coupe vs. '95 Lexus SC300 vs. '97 Acura CL 3.0 Premium

Oh man, talk about blast from the past. Back home the Acura Legend well known for it's reliability. Even though the Acura Legend is fairly old, I still love the styling of that car and would gladly own one. I don't really have much to say about the Acura CL, I'm pretty sure it's just as reliable as the Legend but I never really cared for the rearend of this car. Now onto the SC300... I've always preferred this bodystyle of the SC300 versus the newer bodystyle. Even though these also came with V8's, I love the idea of a 2JZ backed by a TH400. With that being said, I'd rather have the SC300.
