It never bothered me that stages used parts of other stages in D2 and 3. I think it saves on the disc space/coding/testing work involved; although I've no idea how much WRC 3 uses in regard to the disc, but they still are a small team so that would be a factor. CM aren't, but that's just them, they just seem to go their own way regardless.

Looking really good.

Anyone know what version Alan is using in his vids? Could be any with that particular wheel.

He plays WRC 3 on ps3 with Fanatec CSR Elite wheel.

Time to beat 3.57.46 although it's not official UK record but WR. So good luck. Stage Time made not with any wheel but controller. So i guess this game gives you better stage times with DS3 and camera placed behind car, because of that you can react quicker.

Those guys are quick. Superb Driving

Meh, only 39 seconds off the pace.

Me I've got 6 seconds to loose and there is no place for it. So i have no idea how to set my car in demo in High Revs, how to short my gearbox to keep that pace. Anyway great overall feeling driving like that, awesome physics, graphics sound. 👍 Might be my game of the year.

Tried the demo with the DFGT, good responsive handling I like it. Serious improvement over the first title. I dunno if it's day 1 for me but sooner or later I'll grab it. Insane dubstep soundtrack, I like dubstep but on the long run I see me turn that thing off. Rally for me is: me, my car, and the wild nature.

Only one thing I don't really like, the 7 year old crappy graphic menu and the uber annoying crash&run sound. Seriously what the hell is that? Sonic vs. Super Mario?*BLIN BLIN BLIN* How can I turn that s*** off without muting everything?:sly:
Great rally game though.

Just had my PB on the demo and feel it's litrally my limit.

4:25.51 on a DFGT.

Great run USSR - kudos for a nice run. I'm glad you're on PC and I'm on PS3 though as I'd hate to go up against you online :) I'm still in the low 4:20s but to be fair I haven't really had the chance this week to go back on and try to improve.

There is no demo for PC yet. I'm on PS3 to so :)

Oops :)

No, you can't alter the car set up, at least in as far as I can see HKS. We will be able to in the full game though - and I hope there are going to be more than the ten or so set-up save slots provided in the previous games.

I'm still hopefull that its possible to use more than 180deg steering lock in PC. :nervous:
360 would be enough.

Downloaded the demo and gave it a go.

What a blast!

This is like the rally game I've waited for on the PS3 since WRC3 on the PS2. Gameplay is so fast and chaotic, really what rally is about. Graphics look a lot like Battlefield 3-ish, but I can live with that. Gameplay overall is just incredible fun 👍

Did about 3 runs, of which my best run was a 4:27.6. If I'd put effort into it, I can probably take a trunkload of time off it, but I didn't need to complete any more runs to realize that this game will be an awesome racer for the concole!

Like I keep saying looks fantastic.
Wish the steering was 360 degrees but other than that its shaping up nice.

I can't imagine myself driving on any higher degree than available in demo. I have so much fun with it right now. But unfortunately for me I've reach my limit.

I've seen videos with 4:00. And even below that. Every time i watch those runs i can't get that feeling like my car has less power than those other cars. In places where my car is struggle on 3rd gear on gravel those dudes with 4:00 drive on 4th gear with so much power. My car struggles in so many places where their cars just power through.

I never did say what I thought about the demo, but it was enjoyable enough. At first it felt really awkward to control having played DiRT3 to death, but it didn't take long before I got used to the way the DS3 handles. Same goes for the Fiesta in the other game mode.

I think my best time was 4:36.8, or something. Ended up driving over the edge of the cliff at the right-hander going onto the gravel section, and messed up in the final sector.

I love these longer stages though. Anything that takes more than 2 minutes to complete is long in my book, having played DiRT so much with its shorter stages. Looks like this game will provide the challenge I hoped for.

Details about the Boss battle part of the game from GirlGamer http://www.girlgamersuk.com/2012/10/challenges-and-boss-battles-in-wrc3/ There's a vid in there too, but it doesn't show much more than what we have already seen in the demo.

The challenges will ask the player to master certain mechanics and will include:

- Drift Contest: Coloured poles are positioned along the road and the driver is awarded points to drift the car as near to them as possible.

- Rally School Contest: The player has to race on a section of a Special Stage trying to keep the car inside the cones.

- Crash & Run: Negotiate with the tracks hitting the bonus points and avoiding the minus points.

- Gate Contest: Reach the finish line avoiding obstacles along the track. Obstacles consist of a series of gates, some of them fake which can be easily destroyed and others that are far thicker, slowing the car down when hit. Every gate has an indicator that shows if it’s a fake or not. However, the indicator is only activated when the player is very close. It’s all about speed and reflexes!

- Survival Contest: Your car will degrade as the clock counts down, the only way to pass the challenge is to reach the finish line as fast as possible whilst passing over Repair Kits that will give the car a bit of health back.

- Top Rally Contest: The player races through a Special Stage driving to beat his opponent who is in a “Special Vehicle”. Beat the vehicle to earn the highest points.

- Combo Contest: Mixes two or more mechanics from the other challenges.

The Boss Battle, of which there are seven, will try the players abilities through a special head to head mode. They will have the chance to race against the boss driver of the track trying to reach the first position. This final stage race will allow access to the next track on the career mode.

Could be interesting - similar in style to the Rally School part of WRC 2 but more involved.

Y'know, at the start of this thread, when the screenshot were first released, the game didnt look too good..but now it just looks fantastic!!

I seriously cannot wait for this game. The gameplay videos just make me want it even more!

I will probably import the PS3 version, but I can't believe how little is known about the Vita version. 6 days before release and there's not a lick of info, video or screens of that version (that I can find). Quite interesting, maybe suspicious...

Yeah, I think the lack of vita information is not very promissing. :grumpy:

NICE!!!

Wow, Free DLC. FairPlay.

I really hope this does well. They have put a lot of effort in.
I love it when the small guys show the big uns (EA/Activision) etc how to do it.

I personally won't be getting the Vita version though. With both a G27/GT2 sitting at home and the great FF transition I felt from Tarmac to dirt I can't go thumb stick with this. Lol.

Meh, the ps3 version will have 13 rallies. The vita 6 with 3 additional announced for free.

The screenshots are not that convincing either. If you compare it to the very old GTpsp.

Just starting pondering what console to get this for if I do decide to in the coming weeks. I've started using the 360 more lately as well, so that might tip the balance in its favour.

I had the same problem before getting DiRT 3, which I ended up getting a PS3 copy of.
