Latvala has stopped on the stage, Neuville will take the lead of Rally Germany, Dani Sordo will move up to a relatively close P2.

Ostberg is also in trouble in this stage and Neuville thinks his exhaust is broken. Crazy!

Sordo gained 8 seconds and is only 1 second behind overall now. One of these two will take their first ever WRC win tomorrow.

Neuville and Latvala out in the same corner ! Neuville continue with damages.

In a very very tricky corner almost everybody go out of the road.

The final 41km stage of the day has been cancelled by a nasty crash in an historic class, not much news but reports suggest that the co-driver and a spectator have been killed.

Yes a triumph crashed at the famous gina jump :nervous:.

Dani Sordo is a WRC winner! Neuville went off on the last stage and lost almost a minute.

Wait... What? I thought there was some kind of witch's curse stopping that from happening! :p

Anyway, good for him. He's deserved this for a looooong time.

I'm watching Gruppe B on 7mate at the moment. Can't wait to get that S1. Brings back so many memories in my youth watching how late people moved out the way when the cars flew by.

Latvala, Sordo, Ogier and Loeb are all within 5 seconds of the win in France, 6 more stages coming up tomorrow. Should be exciting but Ogier has to be favourite after his great run through today.

Thierry Neuville was robbed of his lead by a puncture but he'll be a rally winner soon (for Ford or Citroen).

Mitsubishi and Kenyan rally legend Joginder Singh has died age 81.

He was most famous for taking 3 wins on the worlds toughest event the East African Safari rally. His win in 1974 was also Mitsubishi's first in the World Rally Championship, the car which has since been included in Gran Turimso.

RIP

Bumpity bump.

Kris Meeke off to Citroen next year.

He is kind of like Novikov, very quick but more often than not he will crash. Hopefully he can do well with a full season though, Mads Ostberg seems like a good number 2 if he rediscovers his 2012 form.

Hyundai have a load of number 2 drivers to swap between, Sordo (all tarmac rallies and some gravel), Hanninen and Atkinson all fighting for a permanent drive in 2014.

Meanwhile expect M-Sport to announce Hirvonen and Kubica on Friday.

Meanwhile expect M-Sport to announce Hirvonen and Kubica on Friday.

As expected today is Friday and Mikko Hirvonen and Robert Kubica have been confirmed at M-Sport (Kubica will run in a team called Lotos World Rally Team but with full M-Sport unlike Kosciuszko's Lotos Fiesta this year), Hirvonen is joined in the main team by Kubica's closest rival from 2013 Elfyn Evans.

Actually, all of the Fiesta WRC cars are built and maintained by M-Sport. Lotos just had some of their own people - leftovers from the Motorsport Italia team that ran Team Mini Portugal in 2012 - running the overall operation. And that was mostly because they started the season with the John Cooper Works before switching to the Fiesta RS mid-season.

Monte Carlo entry list has been published, with 14 WRC cars:

#1 - Ogier (Volkswagen)
#2 - Latvala (Volkswagen)
#3 - Meeke (Citroën)
#4 - Østberg (Citroën)
#5 - Hirvonen (Ford)
#6 - Evans (Ford)
#7 - Neuville (Hyundai)
#8 - Sordo (Hyundai)
#9 - Mikkelsen (Volkswagen)
#10 - Kubica (Ford)
#11 - Bouffier (Ford)
#12 - Delecour (Ford)
#21 - Prokop (Ford)
#22 - Melichárek (Ford)

Also got a handful of WRC-2 entries and a lone WRC-3 car.

Looks like M-Sport have lost the Qatar backing.. But theres news breaking that they have secured backing from Vodafone for 3 years. No official words from M-Sport yet.

I'm not so sure about that. The story seems to be coming out of Spain, and in Spain, 28 December is the 'Day of the Innocents', and is akin to April Fools' Day.

I see.. But anything can happen! And like i said, M-Sport hasnt comfirmed this yet.

Just because M-Sport have not confirmed or denied it, that does not make it true. Vodafone have recently terminated their sponsorship programmes in Formula 1 and V8 Supercars (and other, unrelated sports, like cricket), and while they do support the Rally of Portugal, that money seems to come from Vodafone's local subsidiary, rather than their headquarters.

Furthermore, the story has come out of Spain rather than England, and offers no way of verifying it. It was released late last night, too late for M-Sport to comment on it, but allowing time for it to percolate through the internet, to be picked up, read and reposted so that everyone would believe it before M-Sport were aware of it. This is exactly the kind of joke that gets played every year on the Day of the Innocents, though it is a first for rallying - pranksters usually target Formula 1, but they know that the fans are getting wise to it.

Guess we all learn something everyday! xD Anyways, going to bed. Cant wait for the start of the 2014 season! :D

Edit: Looking at more tweets, it looks more and more fake. Sry prisoner for not looking at more info about this.

Edit: Its comfirmed that its fake by the webside. Guess i got fooled today! :|

I presume Kubica's WRC car will have the same livery as this one which is nice because it has black wheels and is therefore automatically cool.

btw I though Kubica was going to enter the Janner Rally in a Fiesta R5, maybe they changed plans since the RRC car is closer related to the WRC car he'll be driving next year. I think Kajetan Kajetanowicz will win the rally.

Meanwhile expect M-Sport to announce Hirvonen and Kubica on Friday.

Expect Jakub Gerber is to be his co-driver. He has already been announced for his ERC duties. The only rounds in the ERC & WRC that clash is the WRC in Spain from 24-26 Oct and the ERC round in Switzerland from 23-25 Oct. The WRC round starts the day after the ERC round and it ends the day after the WRC round ends.
