If I'd have known he was going to Monte Carlo I would've picked him in Fantasy WRC... :grumpy:

I think I'm getting the general idea of this whole Fantasy thing... would anyone be interested in a GTP Fantasy WRC league?

The Fantasy WRC thread is up. You can see it here. Details on how to play are within.

Martin Prokop is all ready to go for Monte Carlo:

Ford's horrible new livery:

EDIT - Found a larger, better shot:

Still looks horrible, though.

I wouldn't call it 'horrible'. It's not that bad, I quite like it. It's just the Qatar colours that can throw you off a bit. I must admit I'm not too keen on Citroen's livery, however. It might grow on me.

The problem with the Qatar Ford livery is that it uses way too many colours, and none of them are allowed to stand out over the rest of them. It's a big like the ING Renault Formula 1 cars from a few years ago.

The really big problem is that they contrast horribly, as you said it's in an ING Renault.

Contrasting colours can be used effectively - provided that you get it right. For instance, blue and orange are contrasting colours. Compare the Renault R28:

To Shane van Gisbergen's Ford Falcon:

The former looks horrible because the colours are competing with one another. The blue and orange are both being used to highlight other parts of the car. The latter looks good because the colours are complimentary. The blue dominates, with the orange highlighting for effect.

Anyway, the Ford livery is growing on me. If I stop concentrating and let my colour-blindness do its thing, the red, green and black kind of merge together to be one dark colour that is predominantly red, which counters my initial problems with the livery quite nicely. So instead of red, green, black, white and blue in equal measure, the car is now dark red with blue and white. The red colour dominates, while the white and blue compliment it, and white the overall effect is not perfect, it's nowhere near as messy as it once was.

Until today, the weirdest livery I had ever seen was the Porsche 917 "Pink Pig", showing all the different cuts of pork:

But then I saw Oleksiy Tamrazov's No Smoking - Death Is Coming! design ...

... And we have a new contender.

I can't say I'm a huge fan of the Qatar M-Sport livery, but at least it's better than the hideous livery that Ford used in the final few years of the Focus WRC, almost none of the sponsors colours went well together or with the traditional Ford blue & white.

The organisers of Rallye Monte-Carlo have chosen to not include the SupeRally rule, so if a driver crashes out, that is the rally over for them. I wasn't aware organisers could choose, but they can, and the Monte organisers have said no. This will certainly decide the men from the boys!

I'd like to start following the WRC again this season, so does anyone know where it's being broadcasted in the UK? If anywhere at all!

A deal was meant to be done with Sportsman Media Group and Red Bull Media to show it on RedBullTV since NorthOne no longer exist but as yet nothing on the RebBullTV website.

For now must make do with highlights on the WRC Channel on YouTube and Best-of-rallylive.com really. Also of course on the WRC website.

Well I guess I shall go and subscribe to their YouTube channel right now then! Cheers! :)
